Re: PlayStation Begins Pre-Orders for PS5's Chroma Collection, Horizon Remastered, More

Bionic-Spencer

I have a buddy on Instagram that paints designs on Control Pads and PS5 cover plates. I personally only get him to make me designs when I think of something that will be cool and he always comes through. I have a OG PS5 and he made me some Destiny 2 Plates along with a control pad themed around the Witch Queen expansion. It’s a whole lot better than the official stuff, that’s for sure! 😀

Re: Microsoft Is Investigating Why Devs Are Prioritising PS5 Over Xbox

Bionic-Spencer

When you have an audience on PlayStation 5 over double the main rival, developers are going to prioritise making games for a console where they are more likely to turn a profit. Also. Microsoft are more focused on game pass and although it’s a guaranteed money earner for a developer initially, the money they receive will pail in comparisons to what they would receive by making sales in number, especially for an awesome game like Lies of P, which only recently left Gamepass, yet that championed over a million sales very quickly on PlayStation and PC ( I assume). With all these questions being asked, Microsoft themselves are going to focus on releasing games on PlayStation given the untapped sales that can be reached. Each generation will further entrench the mass market users that there is no need for any other console than a PlayStation and less and less developer will run the risk of losing out on sales and just focus where the money can be made.

Re: Sony Fights Scalpers in Japan By Demanding PS5, PS4 Playtime

Bionic-Spencer

The best solution would be to do something akin to a crowdfunding like Hasbro Pulse does, put the consoles up a good 6-12 months on a backing system and let people pay for the project. Instead of limiting the console to 12300 people, allow the backing to run for a month and then stop it. Everyone that wants one gets one and these scalpers could be eradicated when it comes to PlayStation consoles. Anyone that misses out, misses out, but at least the people that genuinely want the console can get it.

Re: Japan Sales Charts: PS5 Continues to Tank in Japan Following Price Increase

Bionic-Spencer

I always used to think that software was where a company made its money. Lose on hardware and then have a good proportion of games for an owner to purchase and make the losses back slowly, so increasing the hardware prices and not just dropping the price to get more people to purchase is just so weird. At this rate, Sony should just forget about the Japanese market entirely because once Switch 2 arrives, it will obliterate the PlayStation Sales to date and Sony can be like Xbox in the region and sell 100s a month.. Poor generation for sure.

Re: What Time Is PlayStation's State of Play?

Bionic-Spencer

If ever Sony needed an absolutely brilliant showing, this is it. Sony have felt so disconnected with the fans of late, if they were to show a proper look at what they are planning for the next year at least with announcements of games that are in the works, even if they are months upon months away, I would leave this stream very happy. I hate seeing a game a mere few months from release without having any kind of build up and not getting excited for future releases. Thinks like Ghost of Tsushima 2, the new game from Santa Monica and maybe even a proper announcement from Naughty Dog with what they are planning. I mean, why does every studio head come out and say “We can’t wait to share our next game, but we can’t talk about it right now” I mean, WTF? In all honesty, I expect this to be a FairGame$ re showing, Remakes/Remasters and not a lot else and that would make for a pretty sad showing.. I would love to be proven wrong.

Re: Rumour: PS6 Could Span a Console and Handheld Device

Bionic-Spencer

If this is all about having a handheld console that can play the entire PS4 library, then I would find this very interesting for sure, but only if the PS6 is a seperate unit that plays PS6 quality titles that the handheld console can’t play. Because if this is anything like the Series set of consoles that Microsoft released, then we will be back into a generation where one console holds the stronger console back, and I am definitely not a fan of that scenario! However whatever happens, I will probably only buy into the generation when the inevitable PS6 Pro gets released. That way I will be able to play PS5 games at 4K 60fps and the PS6 games at the best possible speed. My backlog is a Generations behinds worth anyway.

Re: PS5's Commanding Console Position Is Seemingly Insurmountable

Bionic-Spencer

I moved over to PlayStation when the Xbox One was revealed and I am really glad I did. Definitely has been the best place to play games. This generation has been incredibly messy though, but when Sony is on song with their first party games, nothing comes close for me personally on Xbox. I wouldn’t dream of going back to Microsoft exclusively again, I just like my gaming on PlayStation. I definitely hope Sony takes this generation as a warning though. They have been complacent of late, but when the main competitor is languishing so far behind and is making moves to possible go 3rd party, I can’t see how Sony would lose their position to Xbox.

Re: Dev Behind PS5, PC Flop Concord Could Close as Director Steps Down

Bionic-Spencer

Firewalk are done. Even if their next game was literally amazing, all people will have to read is .. “From the studio that brought you Concord” and it will crash and burn. Best case scenario is take the most accomplished and talented people from the studio, especially the ones that are sane (because reports suggested some crazy individuals are there) and move them to other studios and just close Firewalk down and move on.

Re: Reaction: Why There Are So Many Unnecessary PS5 Remasters for Games That Don't Need Them

Bionic-Spencer

Because Sony has faffed about all generation trying to get on the live service bandwagon. They got studios that were single player specialists to look at live service and it’s meant that there has hardly been any first party titles this generation. Now to bolster releases, Sony are rereleasing games that are from large franchises to artificially build up their line up. It’s all a bit crap really. Days gone was ok, but I don’t for the life of me know why Sony aren’t looking at games that really could do with a remastered overhaul. A Bloodborne remaster would surely make a huge amount of sense an opposed to a new Horizon Zero Dawn for instance. That game was a 4K title that looked awesome on the PS4 pro and has had a PS5 update and Bloodborne, although brilliant, still looks exactly as it did at launch. Nah, if this is how Sony sees their generations moving forward, I’ll buy a PS6 Pro as my next console from them and play all the PS5 and PS6 remasters of games that I’ll probably miss out for now..

Re: Poll: Are You Sold on PS5 Pro?

Bionic-Spencer

If that’s what they are charging for 60fps and sharper graphics, we are all doomed. I was thinking that come the PS6 generation to hold off and get the 6 Pro, because we are only going to see what the PS5 could have done once we are out of this generation, but I genuinely feel that I won’t be able to afford to buy consoles if they jump to over £700. I think Sony are in for a very rude awakening..

Re: Days Gone Director Roasts 'Small Game' Astro Bot PS5 for Deacon St John Cameo

Bionic-Spencer

When I played Days Gone, I found the main character to be annoying as hell, and that voice.. it didn’t work for me at all and it just frustrated me playing it. Then I started to hear similarities of Kronk from the Disney film ‘the emperors new groove’. Then I started to find the game hilarious to play everytime Deacon talked. It was a weird time, that’s for sure! 😂

Re: PS5, PC Disaster Concord Is Now Officially Offline Indefinitely

Bionic-Spencer

If it was rereleased, it’s never going to shake the monicker that it’s had since it launched. Even if it was taken back to the drawing board, all the characters were made into bad ass looking MFs, new Maps, everything that people didn’t like were removed from the game, if it was still called Concord, it would fail again.

Re: Reaction: PlayStation Needs to Take a Long, Hard Look at Itself

Bionic-Spencer

It’s an obsession with growth, growth and more growth. Sony left all their fans expecting massive single player extravaganzas, because that has been their bread and butter for many a year, but maybe they should keep with that formula but drop the scope a bit. Focusing on things like Spider-Mans story and reeling in the open world missions a lot would perhaps mean that a cheaper product that still has ultra high quality could reach market. God of War Ragnarok could easily have been split into 2 games and made the series become the trilogy points that so many wanted with more flashing out of the story. Same could be said for Horizon. Don’t get me wrong, I feel overloaded when it comes to Sonys titles and in turn I never feel like I am not getting my moneys worth, but chasing the live service dream is just not worth these risks when their single player games are what put Sony in its dominant position. Firewalk will likely be shut down, and I am not surprised that they will as they really aren’t going to be trusted again after this absolute mess of a release. Some of their developers are extremely Toxic and really don’t follow the leads of Sonys other great studios like Santa Monica and Naughty Dog. I mean, attacking the fans because they didn’t like Concord is beyond crazy. Also, 8 years of anyone’s life is too long to be making a game that is this much out of touch with what gamers want. Sony should have stayed with the partner process with the studio and seen how it panned out before taking on a studio that simply didn’t fit with Sonys ways. I expect FairGame$ to look a lot different when it finally rears its head again and most likely it will be free from the get go, just as Concord should have been. Sony needs to release Betas way further back than a few months from launch of a title also. And they need to listed to the fans. Running headlong into a release because Herman thinks it was amazing shows he ain’t got a clue about these kinds of things and I worry that he will do more damage than this to the Sony Brand. They should have also released a beta for Factions 2 aswell. That is another huge outlay of cash that won’t see a recoup of funds. The least they could have done is allow the fans to try it out and let them Know what they thought of the game. In the end, we keep the PlayStation brand healthy with our purchases. It’s a mess right now and I really hope that Astro Bot is a giant success. That would certainly show the bigwigs what we all want. And it doesn’t have to cost hundreds of millions to get there!

Re: PlayStation Fans Think Hideo Kojima's Teasing PS5 Pro, But It's One Hell of a Reach

Bionic-Spencer

You know, Sony really need to announce this console ASAP. I am sure that a lot of people will buy into a PS5 Pro, but with cost of living at an all time high, it would definitely take a fairly major adjustment for people to save for a console and giving them 6 months notice would allow the vast majority to get their funds in place as I can’t see too many people nowadays having a spare £/$/€700 odd just sitting doing nothing. Well, I don’t anyway.. What happened to building up a level of excitement?

Re: Just Like Black Myth: Wukong, PS5 Action RPG Enotria Is Delayed Indefinitely on Xbox

Bionic-Spencer

Series X can run games as well as PS5 but the Series S simply isn’t up to the task. I was absolutely flamed when I made a comment on an Xbox forum that the Series S was holding back the Xbox brand by making it extremely difficulty to have games running on it. I said this when Baldurs Gate 3 was not released on time because the developer themselves said that it was having difficulty in reaching parity between S and X. Sony didn’t buy exclusivity on Black Myth Wukong and they haven’t bought Enotria. It’s just Microsoft made it difficult for everyone..

Re: Astro Bot 2 Hinted at in PS5 Platinum Trophy Description

Bionic-Spencer

It would be amazing if Sony would start using the AstroBot games as launch titles for their consoles. Astro is definitely a really cool mascot that a lot of people can get behind and similarly to Nintendo, releasing mascot game with each generation gets a lot of fans onto the platform with a great game to start off! The Astro game that was included with the PS5 is still probably the best utilisation of the Dual Sense pad and I still play it to try and beat my time attack times! Most of my gaming friends are picking this new game up at launch and that is definitely not a normal habit by most of them! This kinda has the feel about Sonic on the MegaDrive for me, it’s a game that lots of people are very excited to play and it’s appealing to a wide variety of people!

Re: Concord (PS5) - Live Service Debut Beats the Hate with Stellar Presentation and Good Gameplay

Bionic-Spencer

I was reading through articles, trying to see how much Firewalk cost Sony and I came across this from Herman Hulst “we continue to be impressed by the team’s ambitions to build a modern multiplayer game that connects players in new and innovative ways.” In a press release, he added, “I think fans will be very pleased when they see what Firewalk has in store for them.”

Herman is so out of touch. He was in charge of Killzone and Horizon, so he isn’t a fool, but since moving up the corporate ladder, he is following a very different path.

Concord should have been free to play and I am absolutely dreading the publics opinion when FairGame$ arrives. Whether people like it or not, Sony got to where they are with huge single player extravaganzas. Best to invest in those types of games instead of wasting cash on buying studios to chase a Gaas cash cow that has been tied down by other, better games.

Re: Xbox's Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Comes to PS5 in Spring 2025

Bionic-Spencer

I never liked microsoft buying up entire publishers, the possibilities of gate keeping titles that at one time would have been available day one for both PlayStation owners and Xbox was not the way I wanted to see the future of gaming going. The news that this will be available mere months after it arrives on Xbox is great news for gamers in general as it surely highlights the way Microsoft will be moving forward with all their releases to come.

Re: Judge for Yourself with Official PS5 Black Myth: Wukong Gameplay

Bionic-Spencer

Very much looking forward to playing this game, but the fact that so many concerns are surrounding the ps5 release is very worrisome. The console has been great at throwing out PS4 quality games at 60fps and too many people have been all over that, but as soon as something that rightly pushes the console to perform expected next generation graphical standards, it may struggle? I always thought the PS5 generation started way too early and if this doesn’t perform well on the console then all my fears will come true.. That means that this game would possible need the PS5 Pro to reach the desired levels of quality for the title and that doesn’t bode well for an Xbox release either. I think I’ll hold off on PS6 when the time comes as I really don’t want to go through another ‘generation’ like this one.

Re: There's Already Concern Over Concord's Player Count as Open Beta Begins

Bionic-Spencer

With each passing Concorde Story, I wonder what would have happened if Sony hadn’t listened to Bungie about the Naughty Dog ‘Factions 2’ and even just given us an open beta on that game. There is no way that would have done worse than what is happening both here and the Suicide Squad game, yet Sony never gave us the chance to see for ourselves. Sony first party titles very rarely perform poorly, yet I think this is going to be a very sobering experience for them come Augusts release. This should and probably could have been a story driven experience and I 100% think way more people would have been interested. When the game was shown, there was a huge amount of positivity until the 5v5 was flashed on screen, I myself was super interested until that happened as I thought the characters looked pretty cool and I thought a ‘Gaurdians of the Galaxy’ type game would have been brilliant fun. I played the beta and even though I wasn’t too much of a fan of the gameplay, I thought the graphical design work that went into each character was exceptional. Would have so loved if it had been a brand new story driven IP from Sony. I think also that if this had been a free to play game then it would have better uptake, nothing to lose then, but £35 is dead on arrival I’m afraid. I would expect Fairgame$ to perform no better when that finally shows face again aswell.

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Thoughts on the Concord Beta?

Bionic-Spencer

I put an hour into the Beta and I really tried to like it. Gunplay is not as satisfying as I thought it would be, just way below the levels of Destiny 2, which I thought would have been met with so many people that worked on that at Firewalk. No, this game isn’t for me at all. If this had been a story driven game with multiplayer bolted on, I would have been all in. Sadly I’m all out. I don’t think it will be too long before Sony doubles down on their bread and butter story games, because if this is what comes out of Sonys First Party studios when it comes to live service, there are going to be a lot of fails.

Re: Talking Point: Was Sony Right to Resist Adding PS5 Exclusives to PS Plus Day One?

Bionic-Spencer

100% Sony did the right thing keeping their games off their service day one! Microsoft only did it the way they have because they have the money to burn and they banked that they would attract way more people than they have doing this. Sure, games like COD will likely give them a big boost, but in general the games they have under their own umbrella really aren’t system seller quality anymore. Sony first party games are way better titles in general and Sony has done the right thing making money off them by selling them rather than renting them to gamers! If Sony had put their games on their own service day one, Sonys first party titles would not be of the quality that they are and that is a fact!

Re: Legendary Zombie Game Dead Rising Gets a Second Remaster, Out in 2024

Bionic-Spencer

I would not be surprised if Capcom was planning a reboot of the series given that fact that there is a new voice actor in place and a new remaster, and I would be all for that!! I love the first game, played it to death on both 360 and PS4 and I really liked the second game too! Bought an Xbox One just to play Dead Rising 3, but didn’t like the direction that Capcom went with the 4th game. I think a reboot in the vein of the first game would be awesome though, I loved the whole vibe of a Day of the Dead feel to the proceedings!

Re: Poll: Can a Game's Brutal Difficultly Put You Off Playing It?

Bionic-Spencer

I love the sense of accomplishment I get from completing tough games! I go for platinums and I have enjoyed games like Vanquish, Street Fighter 4, Cuphead and Ninja Gaiden 2! I wouldn’t miss out on playing a game simply because it’s supposed to be hard. If I like the look of it, I will definitely play it!

Re: Video: Is Concord Destined to Fail?

Bionic-Spencer

Like a lot of people, I liked the idea of a Single player story driven shooter that had a multiplayer component added, but once the 5v5 gameplay was highlighted at just about all there was, it kinda ruined the whole feel of the game for me. I will definitely try the Beta and a lot of my friends are willing to do the same. In its defence, the price point is a plus. But as this article highlights, people are just used to seeing a huge Story driven bonanza from Sony. Still not a fan of this Live Service jump either (which definitely has been downgraded since the first announcement).

Re: Bungie Apologises for Its Widespread Destiny 2 DLC Launch Issues

Bionic-Spencer

They better hope that after all the technical issues they are having that The Final Shape lives up to the expectations and quality that Destiny players are desperate for, or it’s bye bye independence. I personally wouldn’t be too upset with that happening, because Bungie have been a train wreck of a company over the last few years and they need some kind of input to get them going in a better direction, because the current management and staff just aren’t up to the task anymore..
