Fable looks like it’s going to be a big hit when it makes its PlayStation debut later this year, day-and-date on PS5.
The game’s teaser trailer, which was released late last week, has now topped more than one million views on the official PlayStation YouTube channel, with more than 26k likes.
It’s more than double the number of views the same trailer has received on the official Xbox channel, and less than a third of the total likes.
Of course, it’s worth remembering that PlayStation’s YouTube channel has 16.7 million subscribers, which absolutely dwarfs the 5.7 million subscribers signed up to its Xbox equivalent.

Nevertheless, it’s clear that Fable’s narrative focus and open world aspects are going to resonate well with the PlayStation fanbase. Expect this game to be a big hit on PS5.
Microsoft seems to recognise that, too: in a recent interview it said the company is working hard to release more games day-and-date on PS5, so we end up with fewer situations like Forza Horizon 6, where the PlayStation version isn’t quite ready for launch.
“Sometimes we are inconsistent,” Xbox Game Studios boss Craig Duncan told Games Radar.
“You see some games in one place, some games in multiple places. Just know that we're going to work on that, and we're going to try and be more consistent with what we do.”
In the case of Fable, it looks like its readiness to release the PS5 version day one is going to pay big dividends.
