Legendary dev Remedy is updating two of its best games to take advantage of the PS5 Pro’s upgraded upscaler.
Both the excellent Alan Wake 2 – a rare Push Square 10/10 – and the equally enjoyable Control Ultimate Edition will be patched to take utilise PSSR 2.
For those who haven’t been keeping track, Sony has overhauled the AI-based upscaler in its supercharged system, and the results are staggering in Resident Evil Requiem.
While a universal toggle due out later this month will allow you to force the upgrade in unsupported games, it seems Remedy has returned to its previous releases and put in a little extra elbow grease to ensure a “new level of visual fidelity”.
The PS5 Pro has been selling out on the back of the upgrade, and it’s going to be interesting to see if other games can deliver the same level of visual quality as Capcom’s aforementioned survival horror.
Both Alan Wake 2 and Control Ultimate Edition are two incredible games, so whether you’re playing for the first time or planning a replay, this seems like a good incentive to experience both.
