Re: Bungie Delays Marathon Indefinitely, No New PS5, PC Release Date Given

Bionic-Spencer

I don’t know why they didn’t just make a massive single player universe and build a story like Halo. Bolt on multiplayer and away you go. This game is DOA if it ever materialises and Bungie are screwed. I just think the amount of money that has been wasted here should fall on Herman Hulst aswell. His (and Jim Ryan’s) chasing of the Live service dream goes against everything that I loved about the games Sony made, it’s just a complete mess!!

Re: It Took Capcom Two Years to Secure the Legendary Face of Onimusha's New Hero

Bionic-Spencer

When a company goes to these kinds of lengths to secure something that they feel fits the game they want to build, you can only applaud them. They could have easily dropped interest and moved onto someone else and been done with it quicker, but this really isn’t the way Capcom works nowadays. The game looks brilliant and I expect will be brilliant! Can’t wait to play it when it’s ready to release!!

Re: There's a Brutal Lack of Interest in Marathon from Hardcore PS5 Fans

Bionic-Spencer

If they had made marathon a brilliant single player game with an awesome story, because Bungie used to be able to do good stories, and bolted on an online multiplayer experience as an additional extra, I would have been interested in the game. But in no way am I going to pick up a game based entirely on playing online like this. It’s probably doomed..

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2's PS5 Version Could Be Announced Next Week

Bionic-Spencer

I didn’t like this game at all, really tried my best to get into it and put a good 30 hours into doing so, but it never hit like the first game did. I hope that all the fans of the game really enjoy the remaster (if and when it’s revealed) but this will be a pass from myself this time. I think the hype got the better of me with the original release of 2.

Re: 'Good Luck with That' - The Outer Worlds 2 $80 Price Has Gone Down Horribly with PS5 Players

Bionic-Spencer

The Outer Worlds didn’t look anywhere near worthy of an £80 price tag. Microsoft are just trying to make their gamepass look all the more enticing by ramming the prices up to own games (well, with what’s on the discs, that’s not even a thing anyway). I hope Sony keep their games as they are, they probably won’t, but I’ll definitely say that I don’t feel short changed buying Sony first party titles over Microsoft’s ones.

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your PS5 Predictions for Summer Game Fest 2025?

Bionic-Spencer

I expect an unfortunate update about Fairgames to say that it’s very much on track. But I would love to see news on something Resident Evil Related, it would be good to see some Xbox related confirmations too and l would be extremely happy if there was a big showing at the end of the presentation of perhaps Wolverine or a glimpse of the game that Cory Barlog has been working on! That would make for a great show for me. But we will see..

Re: Hi-Fi Rush Studio Reopens, Hiring for New Action Game

Bionic-Spencer

Fantastic news! One of the worst things that came from Microsoft’s consolidation of the industry was the closure of Tango! They were one of my favourite developers and I hope that in time they are able to work on a horror title that will help replace the loss of The Evil Within!

Re: PS5, PC Live Service Fairgames Is a 'Super Clunky' Cross Between Fortnite and The Division

Bionic-Spencer

Maybe Sony needs to have a long, hard look at Herman Hulsts employment benefits. He has come in and chased the live service dream, spent billions on acquisitions that have so far been nothing more than a headache to Sony. Bungie has been a real mess, firewalk a huge financial disaster and now Haven can’t even make a game that plays well after years of development. This guy really doesn’t have an eye for a game and he has cost Sony way too much to be sitting pretty in his corporate eye in the sky! Buck falls on him, he has to go!

Re: At Least Sony's New PS2 Classic Has a Platinum Trophy on PS5, PS4

Bionic-Spencer

My subscription to premium was up for renewal just last month, but I dropped myself down to the lowest tier. I just don’t think premium is worth it at all. One of the things Sony should have done was insist that every PS1 game that was released on the service should have a set of trophies as mandatory. The recent Capcom and Namco releases would have been brilliant to play through with the added incentive of receiving a platinum! As a trophy hunter, that would have been a plus that would have kept me interested big time. But that’s a small wish. The whole service loses was too many good games and never seems to replace them with like for like quality. It’s just a terrible service now. Amazingly, in the beginning I thought it was a great rival to Gamepass.

Re: Marathon Maker's Morale in Tatters as Art Director Forced to Admit Asset Theft in Ill-Conceived Livestream

Bionic-Spencer

I thought that Bungie should have made a huge story based game out of Marathon, Bungie were good at that at one time of their existence and bolted on the PVP to keep players that want to play extraction past completion instead of making the whole experience about that, that would have been perfect. Also, as far as the artists graphics being used, I think it looks pretty cool as far as having similar aesthetics are concerned, Bungie should grovel with apology and then pay the artist to use their stuff. If it was good enough to include in the game then it’s good enough for them to pay for using it now.

Edit: I’ve just finished watching the Arc Raiders video over at YouTube as I hadn’t before. Looks fantastic. Marathon is in trouble for sure, that game just looked so much better..

Re: Like It or Loathe It, This Is Why Sony Won't Stop Trying to Make Live Service Games for PS5

Bionic-Spencer

The thing I worry about is that Sony DO get a hit, something as big as Fortnite. It’s the greed that will follow and they will literally keep going, turning all their studios into live service. They just wouldn’t stop at one game being a hit and they will chase more. I have zero interest in live service, I want single player games, and I worry about that being jeopardised, but I do understand the financial gains that come with success. It’s just a huge worry..

Re: Helldivers 2 Continues to Be Sony's Most Successful Live Service by a Mile

Bionic-Spencer

Sony should really just stick to this and Destiny if they want to work with Live service games. Both are pretty successful and as long as great content keeps making its way to each of them then running risks of failing with other games (at least that is what seems to have happened with everything else planned) won’t be so worrisome and they can continue to grow the titles and not faff around throwing out other games that will in essence compete with themselves. Id far rather if Sony would concentrate most of their efforts on Single Player titles and have Destiny, Helldivers and Marathon to mop up the live service tears!

Re: Sony Celebrates Death Stranding 2 with Limited Edition PS5 Controller

Bionic-Spencer

I’ll Probably buy this for collectable purposes but wow, this is a weak design. I thought the Last of us one was bad, but at least that had a bit of work to it. This should have been a see through red design with a kind of emblazoning of tentacles from the Red BB chamber that was shown early on with a Death stranding 2 Logo on the touchpad. Something cool. Black and orange. Feels like a big miss personally,,

Re: A PS5 Exclusive DOOM: The Dark Ages Trailer Isn't Sitting Well with Xbox Fans

Bionic-Spencer

I think this is the game that is really going to show Microsoft this was the correct strategy going forward. This is going to make them a lot of money being released the same day everywhere and I am not surprised that Bethesda have taken the time to acknowledge the importance of the PlayStation to the franchise! We buy our games over here after all! 😆 This is a very strong franchise and a huge amount of PlayStation gamers will get this. I already have mine pre ordered.

Re: PS Plus, Xbox Game Pass Are Not the Future of Gaming, Says US Analyst

Bionic-Spencer

I’ve owned all the consoles for year by the big 3 and although I have used Gamepass on a few occasions, usually subscribing for a matter of months in total just to cover when a game comes out that I would like to try , I find myself buying titles rather than sticking with subscription models. It’s the same for Playstation Plus. I have a huge physical collection and I would far rather add to that personally than watching games leave subscription services and possible not come back. I want to own my games and as long as physical media remains to be a thing, that is how I like to enjoy gaming. It also allows me to have content for instagram! 😄

Re: TV Show Review: The Last of Us (HBO) Season 2 Episode 2 - More Birdie Than Hole in One

Bionic-Spencer

If Bella Ramsay can beat up a 6ft 4 beast in the first episode, she is going to absolutely destroy Abby when they eventually fight! 😅 It’s gonna be a bloodbath. Nah, as casting goes, I definitely think they should have gone for someone with a lot more physical presence than Kaitlyn Dever. Not taking anything away from her acting capabilities, they are good for sure, but she doesn’t feel like a threat to anyone on a physical level so it’s going to be interesting to see how that is all handled later in the show.

Re: 'You'll See the Difference,' Says Bend Studio of Days Gone PS5's Improvements

Bionic-Spencer

When I originally played this, I found Deacon to be one of the most annoying characters ever. His ramblings just stressed me out. That’s when I started to hear comparisons to his voice to Kronk from ‘The Emperors New Groove’. It started to make the game sound hilarious to me and really helped me get through it as I didn’t take anything he said seriously anymore. I played it quite recently, but I don’t think I would return for a remaster. It’s a shame to see developers who have been up to their eyeballs in live service have to remaster a game this generation just to stay relevant. Bend should have been working on a sequel to this as that would have been a far better way to have spent their time over the last few years and would have definitely made money. This generation really has been a waste of talent. Like I say, I’ll pass this release, but I hope everyone who plays it enjoys themselves! If not, think of Kronk! 😅

Re: PS5 Fans Give Bungie's Marathon the Cold Shoulder, 34% Say You'd Have to Pay Them to Play

Bionic-Spencer

I was talking with friends over the weekend and none of them are interested to play this either and one of them is a huge Destiny fan. I can’t help thinking that Bungie should have gone all in on a single player, story driven game and tried to make a new franchise akin to a Halo experience. They already have a live service game, keep doing what they do on that as they are basically going into competition with themselves. None of us even think the game looks bad, it’s just the burned out feeling seeing another live service game on its way. We would all have preferred a single player game with a multiplayer bolted on to the package.

Re: Rumour: Gears of War Could Finally Be Revealed for PS5 at the Xbox Showcase

Bionic-Spencer

Talking of Rumours, but if the rumour about the Gear of War Collection not coming with multiplayer included is true then this is just another Microsoft game that myself and my usual gaming friends will be passing on. Don’t get me wrong, the campaign is good enough, but I was hoping to add to the thousands of hours that I played online with this game on the Xbox when this came to PlayStation. If it is just the campaign, it will be a pass.

Re: Starfield Could Have Released on PS5 Already, Work Has Been Ongoing for a While

Bionic-Spencer

I played this on series X when it released and I think I gave up around 15 hours into the game. I am a big fan of Fallout, but not so much Eldar Scrolls, but I had high hopes for Starfield, even though Todd Howard was doing his usual crowing about something he was involved in would be better than anything in the history of gaming, I guess he stated that it was “the most important RPG ever made…”. In the end I found it boring as hell, the loading screens were crazy and the music was annoying too. Microsoft expected this to sell Xbox consoles by the truckload, but with all the bad press and user feedback, this could easily be forgotten about. Microsoft should just concentrate on releasing all the titles they want multiplat day and date across all formats. That way they won’t have low sales later down the line due to bad press, which of course isn’t acceptable either. Maybe this will help them step up their game too, because people paying £60+ for games that are a bit crap won’t keep falling for that in comparison to people trying games on a subscription service for a couple of hours before moving on.

Re: Analyst Firm Predicts Some Pretty Unimpressive Sales Numbers for Xbox Ports on PS5

Bionic-Spencer

If these numbers were to make Microsoft rethink their strategy, what exactly will it do for them and where would they go? Go back to just releasing everything on gamepass and hardly increasing any numbers as PlayStation continues to dominate them? If all gamers want is COD, Fortnite, FIFA and Grand Theft Auto, then all these are available on PlayStation anyway, so no need to move over to Xbox for gaming purposes. The numbers were for older titles that don’t really have mass market appeal, except maybe Sea of Thieves. Doom is definitely going to sell really well, Indiana Jones will sell great too! Forza Horizons 5 will find a market, but again it’s an older title, so that might make a difference. If Microsoft had released a Gears of War Collection instead of Pentiment or The Master Chief Collection instead of Hi fi Rush, then there would not even be conversions about this because those games would have sold massively by comparisons and the Microsoft 3rd party trial would be deemed a huge success.

Re: There's Real Concern Over Tekken 8's Season 2 Overhaul as Players Nervously Await Patch Notes

Bionic-Spencer

I played a tonne of Tekken 8 when it came out, way more than any other game in the series, but slowly I got tired of taking a player down to almost no health only for them to get a hit in and rattle off a giant combo and get a huge chunk of health back. Of course I could do the same thing, but It just didn’t feel as rewarding as a fighter, even though there were a huge amount about the game I love! I stopped playing myself when the final fantasy character was introduced. With what I have seen about the season 2 update, I am kinda glad I took a step back from the game. I loved it and definitely got my moneys worth, but it feels like Namco don’t really know what they want from the mechanics themselves. Do they want a player to be overly aggressive (which is me in a nutshell) or do they want to reward a player who is defensive beyond all reasoning. Hopefully the game still plays good for the people that have stayed around.

Re: New Batman Game Appears to Be Targeting PS6

Bionic-Spencer

Confirmation that I won’t need to buy a PS6 until the eventual Pro edition, since the next generation will probably be like this one and spill over big time!

I’d like to see Rocksteady continue the story that was hinted at the end of Arkham Knight, but they really will have to take great care with how the build any game. Just go with what made the Arkham games popular and refrain from making too many changes to established characters They need a massive win after Suicide Squad, so hopefully that factors out in their next game.

Re: Show Off Your Love for God of War Betrayal with New 20th Anniversary Merch

Bionic-Spencer

One thing I saw during this ‘anniversary celebration’ that I would have liked was a record set that covered all the games. That looks awesome, but it comes at a hefty price which I don’t see selling out at. Apart from that, this hasn’t been a great anniversary from an actual games point at all. At the very least, Sony could have done a set of Console Plates or a themed Control Pad or something like that if there wasn’t to be a Remastered Collection. At least something from a games standpoint as opposed to T Shirts and the ilk.

Re: Intergalactic PS5 Game All About Faith, Religion, and 'Being Lonely'

Bionic-Spencer

The “who gives a *****” statement really ended it for me. I personally gave a ***** and a lot of people did too. In fact if certain decisions hadn’t been made for the Last of Us 2, then Neil Druckmann wouldn’t have said in past interviews that he wasn’t sure how to progress with a 3rd part. If you make a product that gets a huge amount of hatred, then that is a fail in my eyes. Isn’t it better to make something that is universally loved? I think that Intergalactic is going to be a big mess too. Just don’t really trust Neil to make something without causing a stir. The idea should be player choices, but I think he will force feed his own beliefs and we will just need to get on with it. Too risky in this day and age…

Re: 'Don't Bet' on The Last of Us 3, Warns Neil Druckmann

Bionic-Spencer

What a surprise. When he killed Joel off in the second game, it really made making anything meaningful for a 3rd game extremely difficult for fans to want. Neil even said he was having a hard time coming up with a story. If he wanted to kill Joel off so much, he should have done it at the end of a 3rd game and gone out like that. That would have been way more acceptable for myself.
