Honestly couldn't they just of made a true skate game and sold it.
It would of sold. The other gsmes in the series are brilliant and I feel as though the realistic approach to the old games was a bigger draw than people say it was.
I really enjoyed the story and progression.
But I guess I'll check it out aslong as the mechanics are similar but improved.
But I just dont see what exactly will get people to actually pay for just cosmetics and stick around.
Im not one for paying for free to play games and would much rather buy a true game.
Its always slightly off putting being free to play
I remember my friend may of or may of not got the first chipped ps1 back in the day and the first game we got from America before it was released here in the uk, was metal gear solid.
By the time 2 came around, we was old enough to stand in line at the midnight launch on our own.
Was a brilliant time.
For me though 2 was the worst. I just saw all of 1s best bits being repeated in 2, which it technically was the plot for raiden.
But 3 was an absolute master piece. Combined everything learnt from 1 and 2 into 1 game.
Can't wait.
Fingers crossed that this does well and they transform mgs 1. That game needs a true remake.
But to say you dislikes 7 bur thought 8 was ok. Baffles me.
Because im not a first person gamer, I actually haven't played any of the greatest games made because they are first person.
But I found 7 to be an absolute classic and a great direction. Esp 3/4 of it i feel like it fell off in the final quarter being to action compared to the slow pace and tense atmosphere of the redt of the game.
It was probably the first resi game I really enjoyed since 2 and 4.
Also this is going to be the firdt game in the series in which you can play 3rd person so im pretty happy to have that.
I've just completed 8 and I thought it was inferior to 7.
@Leonhart well yes, of course it is. It spans alot more games and alot more years.
You do realise that Yakuza, has only just become popular?
It wasnt until after Yakuza 3 and even then it was a niche audience, until it picked up some steam, then kiwami really pushed its success.
Alot of the sales of 1 and 2 came within Japan.
Shemnue was actually alot more popular than yakuza.
The problem what shemnue had was it was made for a dying console, the second game to even be successful due to how little consoles were out there would of had to sell double the copies .
Also the extreme cost of the games put the last nail in the coffin.
Just started playing through the mafia remaster. I played it when it first come out forgot how good it is.
Also im 1 of the people who actually enjoyed mafia 3.
Not gonna bother with old country for awhile, but glad its gone back to its roots and seems more online with the first 2 games.
But id love to see them give mafia 3s open world stylr another shot but set it up in peak mafia times and a rags to riches story where I can end up being the mob boss and control my family.
A more robust empire of sin with mafia gameplay hooks and look.
I actually hated Yakzua and never touched it for many years because of the hatred I had towards Sega for replacing Shenmue with what I thought was a dumb downed simplified rubbish knock off with Yakzua.
I've probably completed 1 and 2 100 times each. And spent many of days and weeks, practising my combat just to level them up.
I paid over the odds for shenmue 3 aswel in the kickstarter.
I didnt care the story didnt move on, why would I want to leave this world behind.
Day 1 for me, I'll be buying any special edition.
I think 2 was a better game overall but I dont know 1 had that special somet, hust the knocking on random houses and getting responses blew my mind when I first got the game on launch day.
The problem really is bethesda esp with stsrfield are still stuck in ps3 era open world. Its just so dated compared to alot of open world games which set the standard before starfield wven released.
@Toot1st if you actually did your history then it be worth a debate but clearly you don't.
Every single studio PlayStation has bought have a history with them. They've also 99% of the time taken the time to understand the developer and gave them the platform and freedom to make games.
Naughty Dog wasn't a Playstation studio when they first made Crash Bandicot, they made Crash 1 and I believe 2 before Sony bought them, so they already had exclusive games already on PlayStation. History.
Insomniac has been making games for Sony for years exclusively and It wasnt until Spiderman they bought them, but before that they already had a history.
Housemarque same thing. Suck Punch same thing, Santa Monica, Guriella Games same thing.
They all made exclusive games and had a relationship before being bought and all was willing, some even went to Sony to become exclusive.
Microsoft on the other hand no such thing. Rare no history, bethesda no real history, halo was actually contracted to apple. He'll blade developer, they didnt even want hellblade and Sony coughed up the money for the first game, it was an exclusive until xbox bought them out and kept the sequel.
They also bought out Tomb Raider sequel even though the first was multiplat.
There is just a bit of moral respect for PlayStation doing business right with developers, where xbox were desperate so just bought out the publishing arms instead.
@Oram77 but we really don't? Because microsoft or i mean xbox doesnt really create any new games, they just bought out and slapped the xbox brand onto already existing games which were going to come out whether they bought them out or not.
Bethesda wasnt really for sale, zenimax was fine. But microsoft offered them over the market price so they sold.
Activision had its troubles with top management but they wasnt really in actual trouble financially, but microsoft came in and offered over the market price so they sold.
90% of microsoft earnings have all come from the games in which would be released whether they had been bought out or not.
We've hardly seen anything new from microsoft at all. Their internal developers, have stagnated and are still made to make halo, gears and even fable.
Apart from forza games, we've seen absolutely nothing of interest.
Well we may never know if gamepass is actually profitable. They talk revenue which sounds good but how much of that is going to the studios for having their games on the platform?
How much is that hurting the sales of these games? How much are xbox losing because more people are paying a smaller subscription price instead of the price of the game.
The fact remains their highest grossing profitable games are already established gaming ip, which would be still being published and selling without microsoft buying them out.
If we take away all the developers who they bought and the games xbox have actually made internally it ain't much, they were still banking on old stagnant franchises. Its still the same halo, gears, forza, fable.
And in recent years we've seen very little from those games apart from Forza which is yearly.
They've literally made nothing else, instead they bought out studios who were already established.
Its easy to say o look at what we're making money wise when youve gone and bought entire publishers to own the top money making games.
The real problem really is star wars hasn't been good since the first 3 films.
It really only grew a cult following because of those films.
The prequel trilogy was really a flop, the sequels didnt really do it.
Apart from the odd air combat and a slim selection of games, its out put has been pretty lack luster quality wise, throughout the generations.
I truly think the Star wars brand really isnt as big as everyone thinks it is. It just doesnt have that pull just because it says star wars. I dont ever here fans talk about what the new characters are going to do, we still have discussions regarding the original trilogy and that's dying off more and more.
If your going to make an open world star wars game then you better be firing on all cylinders and unfortunately outlaws didnt. Its good but that won't cut it anymore the brand won't carry it
I loved SiFu but I've come to absolutely love ReMatch.
The problem was that the reveal trailer and build up to the release of ReMatch really didnt show what the actual game was and to be honest I really didnt think to much of it.
I actually thought it was the wrong move until I actually played it. Its a breath of fresh air to online gaming and I dont normal play online games.
But to bring it back to be honest. I think SiFu is a great and amazing game but I dont think id want a sequel to it.
But what I would love is another martial arts game and to just tighten up the controls and perfect the combat. It just needed a little tightening esp when it came to parrying and understanding when an enemy was coming the animations needed to be a little more.
But ReMatch is great and I hope they return to martial arts game again but not SiFu.
I mean nothing has really beaten street fighter 2 anime for myself, maybe a couple of the other anime films come very close.
They truly need to nail the character looks because for me that's what makes street fighter.
They really need to stick to 1 decent story line and go with it and not just mix it all up..
My only issue I've got is the actor playing Ken. I just don't see it at all. Kens the long blonde hair American show off with the whole secret hes trained and as deadly as Ryu. I just dont see it. The rest I can sort of see, once kitted out and make up.
The ken actor however is so far from what ken is, I just dont think it will work.
But im all for it. Let's see in this era where movie adaptations of games are now normally above average.
I've got a lg oled, hardwired, with every app I need.
Plus I just need my remote and not a controller.
The only thing I have done is an old tv in my kids room isnt a smart tv, so they have amazon and Disney plus on it to watch. But even then its a faff to stick on for them.
If they just cut about 50% of the game which is basically filler.
I'd be down for it.
It was a great game to experience and I respect what they did.
But it dragged on.and on and on and I wasnt one of those people who had any strong opinion of what people hated about it, i thought it was yea cool ok. On we go.
Good story,.good game just way to kuch filler to replay it.
I had the same issue happen. I turned the game off and went back on and it fixed it.
Never had the issue again.
Im not sure whether its some sort of bug entering that mal area or how long I had been playing before hand and it was something to do with the memory cache getting stuck after playing for a long time.
But jumping out and back in fixed this and played the rest of the game without a hiccup.
Can't believe how privileged and snobby people are with those results.
How anyone can say its bad is beyond words.
Ps extra is an absolute steal for anyone 100s of games, plus your 3 games a month.
If that isnt good value then im sorry but you have more money than sense in my eyes.
Premium is a true let down really and isnt premium. Premium really is at extra. I've bought games full price and I've played many which I may never of bought by having extra.
Also the free monthly games from essentials may not be to my liking every month but I still appreciate getting a decent selection each month, for each genre.
Doesn't have to be every game I like because I've probably got it.
Its true that physical games can end up being alot cheaper than digital and go on sale quicker but that comes down to the fact sales for physical are declining.
Playstation either way arent pushing anyone really, they offer a ps5 base with or without a disc drive with an option to purchase a drive drive at a later date if one decides they want it.
The ps5 pro doesnt come with a disc drive but you can buy a disc drive. The reality is this isn't really a push its just where the market has gone. Whether we like it or not.
Also the only pricing they can control is their own games as its up to the third party and indie developers/publishers for what price they sell at.
I mean at this point there are that many games now that i can pick and choose what I buy at full price or not, no ones pushing me.
I'm still old school that I believe we should take responsibility for our own actions not blame others. Which in this modern age seems to be a rarity, everything is blamed on someone else and not the individual anymore.
On this topic, should I go out and sue the likes of Tesco, Morisons, Co-Op, Sainsbury's?
As they literally all inflate their prices to extreme amounts, blatantly, and publicly pushing you into registering for their loyalty cards, as its the only way to get the items at their normal price. Now that's pushing and entrapment, as these items could be sold at the "club card" price without having to register for the "free" card. That is a cause for law suit.
Playstation and anyone else has the right to sell their products at whatever price they see fit really.
Just like the guy down the road making custom made tables sells them for 1000s because they are "handmade" compared to a furniture shop.
@rjejr that's everyone though isnt it. We like the games we like.
Im not a huge fan, I used to be but fifa started to bore me, with its same gameplay over and over and the AI being awful and to simple and each year same old thing.
I just think this game is more of a puzzle and thinking game than a football game.
I think I've already got my money worth out of rematch and there is more to come.
I think what drew me to it more in the end was the sheer challenge of mastering the controls. A pass isnt just a press of a button and it magically knows who your aiming at, your having to really aim properly and even then it may not reach.
And the shooting in this game is so different as your aiming like you would in a fps game. Giving an added difficulty to the game.
I guess it isnt for everyone but from.what I've seen on YouTube there are many who dont like football but have connected with this game due to the challenge nature of it.
But its like every game, your either interested or your not. Many a game I've not even touched and yet many here will have you crucified because you haven't played the gsme of the year.
@Rich33 that is impossible to even price a game to a time played before refund.
Games cost the same amount near enough.
Whether its a uncharted game of 10 to 15 hours or a spiderman which is 30 plus hours or a witcher 3 which is 100 plus.
2 hours is a perfect time for you to know whether your going to stick it out or not.
You should know within 2 hours of play whether you like the gameplay hook and the story, to whether you want to carry on and see if it hits properly, 10 hours is obsured.
I think 2hours is generous, you shouldn't just be able to get your money back because you didnt like it and 10 hours of play is ridiculously long, its nearly half a game, for most games.
Thats like going to a movie sitting through 3/4 of it and then demanding a refund because you didnt like it.
Yes some companies may and do flirt with the idea of pacing the game longer than the 2 hour mark. Mindseye is a prime example of this.
But you have to have a cut off point for a refund.
@rjejr the graphics are actually very well done and sharp, character models look more like a upgraded sharper version of sifu and are customizable.
Its also nice to point out that the stadiums change aswel, throughout the actual game, some make it seem your underwater and once you score the entire stadium changes, or 1 where your in space, score and a black hole sucks the stadium into it and changes to a fully packed stadium.
The graphics are actually quite impressive.
The goalkeeping in the game is rotated after every goal, but anyone can be in goal, if there is no one in the goal area.
gameplay for the keeper is actually the best implementation I've seen in a football game. Directional input plus 1 button, its all about timing and positioning. Easy to understand and it feels very responsive.
@lazarus11 I dont believe there is local co op but the games themselves are only 6mins each so its not to bad to take in turns, me and my step son were swapping and having a great laugh at our attempts. It's actually fun playing with random, but I imagine if you had some friends it be alot more exciting.
To take a team through in ranks you need 5 people as ranked are 5v5 but you start off in unranked which are 3v3 and 4v4.
@rjejr I have actually eaten my words with this game well and truly.
I to saw the game and thought this is absolute trash, a studio which was on its way to perfecting a great souls like king fu master class, ends up doing a blocky, shoveler looking football game and its only online, you just be mad!!
But the trailers and screenshots dont do it justice at all. Its actually kore misleading than anything I've ever seen.
This game is pure bliss and just down right fun to play. Whether your good or not, its fun and doesnt get old and on top of that there is a simple learning curve for the basics but a steep learning curve to master.
The graphics are actually way better than the acreenshots had you believe.
Well worth the 19.99 entry. Honestly im a single player kind of guy. Never ever been interested in any online game apart from the odd match of rocket league back when it first launched and some call of duty with a friend every once in a blue moon. But this has changed my mind.
Because Rockstar really cares what anyone else does and istlnt just focused on their own multi billion dollar game franchises which will sell whatever other games come out.
Honestly story was great and I appreciate it for what they did.
But everyone saying how people dont like it because of what happened or the story.
No its just a pretty boring game for the most of it. Its just big for the sake of being big, so much filler and honestly it could of been cut down by a few hours if they took out the filler parts.
Honestly I couldn't finish it. I got really bored and ended up just watching a cut scene YouTube video to know the story.
The first was alot more tight and to the point compared to part 2.

Re: Konami Wants to 'Consider Lots of Other Games' for Remake Treatment if MGS Delta Succeeds
@Jammer I agree sort of.
But most 1 2 and 3 definitely need a remake/remaster.
They are gaming history. And id love to see mgs 1 be remade. What a game
Re: Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater (PS5) - The Best Version of an Undisputed Classic

Re: Bungie Boss Pete Parsons Departs as Sony Starts to Take Control of Flagging Dev
End of the day Sony bought into a partnership deal in place.
They was already on a slippery slope before they bought them.
They gave budgie enough tome to sort themselves out and honestly they made it worse.
Sony is at fault though putting to much trust in bungie for their other live service being the overseers.
But at least Sony bought them and let them be.
But they have to jump in and save their investment.
Re: Black Myth: Zhong Kui Announced with Cinematic Teaser, Won't Be Out for a While
Tried playing through the ps plus trial and didnt really like the opening and the controls of the character.
I think i used 15mins of the trial time and said nah looks cool, would be my type of game but the controls just didnt do it for me
Re: Bonus PS Plus Extra Game for August 2025 Announced, Out Now
Definitely going to give this ago. I really enjoyed the newest prince of persia game.
I really thought they finally made a modern take on what made prince of persia what it was ment to be.
This looks like a great addition.

To be fair apart from the voice notes, there really isnt much voice acting in the game.
Snake is pretty silent in this outing.
Re: Last Chance to Get These 15+ PS5, PS4 Games in PS Store's Weekend Offer
Im glad I read this.
I never really understood the hype of bioshock not a fps fan but for that price i may just delve in and play it esp being older now.
And then mass effect aswel being so low. Looks like im diving into that world once again.
It'll never be cheaper than that

Re: Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced (PS5) - Cinematic Spectacle Offers Little Else
O wow considering this game has less gameplay than the firdt gane and they are selling it at that price is insane.
It really is kore tech demo than actual game and its their second game is mind blowing.
I actually think your being generous with it being a 6.
Mindseye had more gameplay than this.
It really is not even a hard pass, its stupidity if I even thought about it.
Not even worth 20 in my eyes, its more of a free come with the console look how good the graphics can be kind of footage.
I wouldn't even call it a game. Its basically a cgi movie, without a play button and you need to move the analog stick to hold down play.
Its not even on the level of say a until dawn interactive movie, at least they had options and different endings this is just keep going forward.
I dont even blame Microsoft for this, the developers were given more money and more time and they totally forgot they was making a game.
Honestly what a waste of talent really.
Even the order 1886 had more gameplay elements.
Re: Rumour: Sony to Put More First-Party PS5 Games on Xbox
I just dont see it happening.
The only games I see going to Xbox will be their live service.
Xbox is dwindling in sales. I imagine that most Xbox users are literally just using game pass.
And xbox are slowly moving towards being more of a publisher than a console maker.
PC is worth it.
Xbox not really

They really need to stick to 1 decent story line and go with it and not just mix it all up..
My only issue I've got is the actor playing Ken. I just don't see it at all. Kens the long blonde hair American show off with the whole secret hes trained and as deadly as Ryu.
I just dont see it. The rest I can sort of see, once kitted out and make up.
The ken actor however is so far from what ken is, I just dont think it will work.
But im all for it. Let's see in this era where movie adaptations of games are now normally above average.
Re: Official Ghost of Yotei Popcorn Bucket Triggers Tedious Takes on PS5 Exclusives
Well that's great and all but we are in the uk so what about our slice of this?
Re: Poll: 5 Years Later, What Do You Think of Ghost of Tsushima?
Great story great simple but masterful combat, overall great game, apart from the boring side stuff.
If I had e to follow another fox!!!! Those were so boring from the get go really.
Take those side parts out and have a little bit more mystery and random events and more interactivity, it would.of been. A masterpiece
Re: Sony Says PS5 Is the Best Place to Watch in TV Centric Ad
Never once have I even bothered.
I've got a lg oled, hardwired, with every app I need.
Plus I just need my remote and not a controller.
The only thing I have done is an old tv in my kids room isnt a smart tv, so they have amazon and Disney plus on it to watch. But even then its a faff to stick on for them.
Re: Hands On: Chronological Mode Is a Fascinating Way to Play The Last of Us 2 Again
Re: Xbox and Arkane's Blade Game Sounds Like It's Still a Long, Long Way Off
I'd bet money on it that it's gets canceled or the studio gets shut down before it comes out.
Most of Xbox games announced years out get canned.
Re: Twisted Metal Shapes Up for Another Season of Sublimely Stupid Television
@get2sammyb it is one of those shows which shouldn't be that good and yet surpasses every expectation I had for it.
Its just a fun funny ride and im all for it.
Shame the last of us just didnt hit in season 2, they fumbled that.
Re: 10 New PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Announced for July 2025
Looks like a great list for me and my kids.
I still think the selection for premium is so lackluster.
2 games of the same franchise and that is all?
Premium should just be a catalogue of the greatest ps classics we have. Not a fumble, every single month.
They shouldn't treat premium like a ps plus game give away.
It should just be there and then add more as and when. Everyone month just disappointment. Apart from the odd one.
Nit even the major classics are even on it yet.
Re: There's Unfinished Business in Robocop: Rogue City's Standalone Expansion on PS5
@nessisonett I think that was a bug of some sort.
Re: Poll: Vote for Your PS5 Game of the Month (June 2025)
@Jey887 couldn't agree more.
Its just such an addictive fun game.
Quick in and out matches.
Easy to understand controls but hard to master.
Every match is different.
Having an absolute blast whether I can sit and play for a few hours. Or if I have a spare 10 mins.
I know DS2 will win but the fact is, its more of a winter game for me.
Rematch for me wins hands down.
Re: What the Hell Has Happened to Call of Duty?
I do love beavis and butthead
Re: Poll: 15 Years of PS Plus - What Do You Think of Sony's Subscription Service?
Can't believe how privileged and snobby people are with those results.
How anyone can say its bad is beyond words.
Ps extra is an absolute steal for anyone
100s of games, plus your 3 games a month.
Re: Sony Sued for 'Abusing Its Dominant Position in the Console Market'
Re: In a Surprise to Absolutely No One, Rematch Is Doing Really Well
@rjejr that's everyone though isnt it.
Re: PS5's AI Slop Shovelware Has Hit a New Low
Re: In a Surprise to Absolutely No One, Rematch Is Doing Really Well
@rjejr the graphics are actually very well done and sharp, character models look more like a upgraded sharper version of sifu and are customizable.
Re: In a Surprise to Absolutely No One, Rematch Is Doing Really Well
@rjejr I have actually eaten my words with this game well and truly.
Addictive and fun.
Re: PS5's AI Slop Shovelware Has Hit a New Low
@Rich33 just going to put it out there like another comment but steam does it best.
Buy, play, you have 2 hours any dislike before the 2 hours you can get a 100% refund no questions asked.
That should be standard. 2hours is long enough to know whether you'll like the game or not.
Re: Mini Review: Rematch (PS5) - Fun, Fresh Football Game Holds Huge Potential
I'd like to detract my opinion from this ain't going to do anything, to this could be my game of the year.
The trailers and build up did not do this any justice at all.
Its incredibly fun, addictive and doesnt matter if your playing with friends or randomers. Im having an absolute blast playing.
Basic rules, but complex and difficult to master.
The amount of times I've panicked and hit fifa shoot or pro who shoot buttons is every other game.
Seriously who would of thought putting in a fps style cross shooting system would be a game changer.
And who ever thought this small online only game would have the best goalkeeper controls I've ever played, I like actually enjoy being put in net.
Shame there are a few who think there naymar and run out of goal every time they get put in.
But small negative because everything else and many people brilliant.
10/10.
Re: Even Death Stranding 2's Luca Marinelli Was Fooled by His Solid Snake Appearance
I dont understand some comments here.
He does resemble snake, esp if you pictured the original game in real life. That entire trailer reminds you of metal gear solid.
So i understand where he was coming from esp if he's more of a casual onlooker to gaming.

Re: MindsEye Considered an 'Abject' PS5 Pro, PS5 Game in Tech Analysis
@Czar_Khastik they secretly work for Rockdtar.
Because Rockstar really cares what anyone else does and istlnt just focused on their own multi billion dollar game franchises which will sell whatever other games come out.
Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About The Last of Us Part 2, 5 Years Later?
Honestly story was great and I appreciate it for what they did.
But everyone saying how people dont like it because of what happened or the story.
No its just a pretty boring game for the most of it. Its just big for the sake of being big, so much filler and honestly it could of been cut down by a few hours if they took out the filler parts.
Honestly I couldn't finish it. I got really bored and ended up just watching a cut scene YouTube video to know the story.
The first was alot more tight and to the point compared to part 2.
Re: Round Up: Digimon Story Time Stranger Previews Are Super Positive, Set to Be a Surprise Hit on PS5
If only I really cared for digimon.
I was there when pokemon first appeared and I was there for the trading cards the original 100. I was there for the first games on gameboy.
But when digimon came out, it really didnt click, I tried but it just wasnt the same.
