My question for most is how exactly do we have super hero fatigue? When we have had just a handful of top tier games.

Insomanic have only done 2 main spiderman games and a small spin off, with a 3rd coming to round off the trilogy.

We had an avengers game which was pretty poor in its deliverance but the idea was great.

Lets jot talk about kill the justice league.

And we've had the batman trilogy with spin off.

And a couple of decent fighting games.

Its not like we are crammed with souls like carbon copies every other month with the same type of art style, over and over again at every game show.

And like you said rachet the amount of games, surely that is fatigue by now.

And if we take a look at Santa Monica, all they have done is God Of War for nearly 30 years. Seems like even when we thought we may get something fresh from them with barlog, that seemingly seems to be a God Of War spin off game.

I just don't know what people actually want from insomanic, majority didnt care kuch for what they did outside of rachet

Because alot of the actual pc gamers have mid to low end PCs, and probably cant run them on.

Steam shows the specs of all steam players and not alot have high end.

It ain't worth it. Whether people want to deny it but eco systems matter and exclusives do matter.

If all games were on everything like Xbox belie es helps xbox.

It doesn't because there would absolutely no reason to buy a playstation, you would then see a averaged out user base across everything and that isnt good for any business.

Sony has the right idea. Keep the best games for yout system and people will come.

I bet they are kicking themselves for even mentioning the time aspect, when in their mind, it works because its more a story element than a race against time. It probably didnt even enter their thoughts when they mentioned it.

@Member_the_game if your a casual, you may aswel hold off every year. For the last few years they've been giving it away free on ps plus every May.

Its the inky game in the series is could stomach. Only because of the pirate theme.

Its funny listening/reading some talking about how insomanic should do other things and the fatigue or the fact there so much talk about delays.

Lets just bring it back to reality and facts.

Insomanic has never delayed a game when they've announced the release date.

Super hero games have never been so good ever, so fatigue just really isn't a thing within video game superhero games.

We've literally had the Rocksteady Batman games and the insomanic series which are triple A. We've had a few notable ones but literally over the decades.

To the people who say insomanic should do something different their being held back.

Theyve literally made rachet and clank since ps2, they did resistance but it didnt hit like people think it did. Theyve done a few others but nothing really stuck.

Sunset overdrive really didnt sell that well.
They've probably made more money getting this Marvel deal than theyve made, with all of their secondary games combined. It just works.

And I find it even more crazy how kuch pressure people put on insomanic and claiming whats taking them so long, when the reality is, insomanic has carried ps5 pretty much its entire life cycle up till now.

Honestly in my eyes, insomanic right now is Sonys Flagship developer whos consistent. I think they beat out naughty.

Even if naughty dogs new game is a hit. It wont sell anywhere near as good as spiderman and wolverine

Clearly the game was finished at launch. The reviews came out, the bugs weren't the problem. It was just a love it or hate type game.

So reality is, they are going above and beyond.

I mean look at the state of minds eye or even cyberpunk, or even bethesda games.

This company are putting all of them to shame.

A crazy big world, many mechanics and it ran even at launch with very little bugs.

Even Cyberpunk, it maybe, beloved by many but reality is the world is pretty bog standard in terms of NPCs and what you can actually interact with.

This game really does feel like its lived in.

They are doing an absolute fabulous job of truly finishing their vision unlike many

It launched a year latter and a bigger price but came with a blu ray player and was 1 of the best at a cheaper price than the competition.

By the end of the generation PS3 outsold the xbox 360, even with a year head start.

Its always been the place to play even in the ps3 generation.

Yes america has put out tariffs but there have always been tariffs in reality just not to the general public and this only effects america.

The ps5 price increases were happening before this even happened.

The global market is an absolute awful state for every country.

No its awful.
I mean if you like the stuck in the ps3 era style of bethesda because theyve never grown since. Then you may be good.

But the sub par graphics, the out dated conversation segments, the fact you load out of the planet and the sheer amount of load screens when ps4 games did a better job and the bland story.

Some will dig it because its bethesda but the reality is, its a bland average game compared to all the newer open world games which came before it.

Lets be honest they aren't worth the price tags even before the proce hike.

Its old tech now, its 6 years old.

And prices are reaching 1k?

I understand the actually prices of parts have increased, but that doesnt relate to the actual parts being outdated.

The prclices should be coming down, not up.

They are skirting the line that the majority of us whether we want to or not will be priced out of gaming all together.

This just doesnt look good for the ps6 or the new xbox hardware.

The entire world is about to be plunged into being priced out of most things and jobs will be scarce with the raise of AI.

I honestly believe we are on a knifes edge and Sony have lost touch of the actual world and they really should of stuck to their price and rode it out because I think sales are going to truly plummet.

As much as I enjoyed the last of us and will enjoy it.

Honestly I'm just dissapointed that Naughty have been non existent for the majority of ps5 and have just heavily relied on making updated versions of their games.

They've truly just dropped the ball this entire generation and I dont know how relevant they maybe if they dont hit it out the park with intergalactic.

It just speaks volumes to me that, insomniac has carried the ps5, and have made amazing games consistently, in short amount of times and that people doubted them over wolverine.

Yet naughty Dog, non existent and a cancelled game, doesnt have people raising eyebrows.

From the small snippets of intergalactic, it just didnt have that wow about it, either and honestly, im just feeling that they have truly missed a few steps because normally their trailers wow us and it just didnt.

Honestly if it does go beyond 1000.

I think this maybe the last console I buy.

Every game will release on ps5 and ps6, for a good few years after and I have a ps5 pro.

I think for the firdt time in my entire life, im not going to be there day 1.

Can't justify the price. Lets hope this isnt the case and things settle

The only games which came day n date or close to have been live service games.

Any single player games, have been months or years after.

And playstation have been that sparse with the releases, and even how random those releases have been, I dont quite understand, this whole pc is some how every title.

Its like some how people believe playstation have been doing what day n date for everything. Just because a couple of multiplayer games have come out.

Do we actually think these games cost that much to make, or is it a case of they had it so good for so long that many of the devs, have lost sight of managing projects properly.

Have they got lazy in their budgeting and not thinking until its to late.

Im quite sure at many a CES, I've seen many prototype cars being shown off which never saw the light of day.

Sounds more like it was a hobby project and to show it off. They probably never had much intentions behind the scenes to actually put the car on the market.

More of a test run for future projects. They just like teasing them at these type of shows

@Exerion76 majority of games now are running at 60fps and higher. If we take the ps5 pro as the base.

So im expecting the ps6 to be aiming at 120fps standard for 99% of games.

Hyped. Shenmue is just one of those once in a generation franchise.

I was there for release of the original, I was there for the release of the sequel. I was day 1 for the HD remakes. I was day 1 for the kickstarter, im day one for the enhanced version. LETS GOOOOOO!!!

Honestly im not sure why everything is always over blown and its always selective.

The games media are acting like this doesnt happen all of the time.

Majority of games are shown off at their best and no one ever asks where is the series s version.

The base ps5 is a very capable machine and the standard, so people should expect it to run fine, until it doesnt run fine.

We all know the pro is the better machine thats just fact, so just expect it to run at a lower res but have quality mode and performance modes, on the base ps5, Like majority of games do.

Honestly I have no idea what this game is.

All I've ever read is how amazing it is and that its doing everything. But I've never heard ehat that everything is.

If it isnt an RPG. Is it a Uncharted like third person adventure but set in an open world?
Or more like Horizon without the RPG elements.
I guess I'm just going to have to wait for reviews and find out what we can actually do within the world.

@Ainu20 honestly the amount of hours I spent trying to perfect my run on time crisis at home, trying to figure out the quickest way to reload. Was an amazing time.

We had competitions with my mates and even my dad would join in.

I still love nipping to the arcade and giving it ago on the machines. We have an arcade club here and they have a few gun games.

You just still cant believe that tech has moved on but light guns never made the jump, seems a real shame now, that they cant figure it out

I just haven't seen it happen ever at all. Im not saying it isnt happening.

But I've been buying games at discount prices for a long while and I've used many a deals guide from push square and even from users on reddit.

Every single time, the prices quoted are the prices I've gotten them at.

So I just can't really give much interest, when the prices quoted from legit websites and random people on reddit, are the prices I am seeing.

I understand the experiment of logged in or logged out.

But to purchase a game you have to be logged in.

If the dynamic pricing was effecting every single one of us and we were all getting different prices then maybe.

I dont even get the criteria because im not a huge spender either. Yet my prices are in line with everyone else.

Of course its not worth it when you have the better tech with path tracing which is just leaps and bounds better.

On topic of this whole ps6 delay rubbish.

Something cannot be delayed unless it has been announced. I dont quite understand the world we live in now that, rumours and hear say are now classed as news and thay something which jas 0 release date nor has been really talked about by playstation can be delayed.

@Balosi yes but vr is a bit of a sickness trip if in to long.
And ps3 is going back a few generations to get it and you have to have the camera.

You would just of thought there would of been a better break through, considering how accurate and fun those light guns were back in the 90s.

I know there is the whole gyro with the time crisis game but you just want the gun.

I guess VR is where its at. But until they can truly get rid of the motion sickness, its always going to be a quick in and out experience for many

The funniest thing in all of this is, we've watch the growth of games over the decades and we are striving for emersion and yet, no one has truly invented a replacement on par or better than the home light gun of the 90s.

Never going to get that feeling of beating Time Crisis infront of your own tv at home.

PC players are on PC and the problem they may face is if gabe cube comes out at a very competitive price.

Also xbox have planted themselves already as a subscription system. I just think its a little to late for them really.

100% of the time. When push square gives a list of discounts and i check. They are those prices.

Sorry but the game just isnt good enough and it really isnt a God Of War game.

The story and the whole buddy thing is just not the back story, I want for a Kratos.

But I get the wanting smaller titles and its worth it but it truly needs to be of high quality and it just isnt.

Its an ok game it just isnt a great game.

We have enough ok games.

And we have alot of epic games in that genre which are miles better.

The question is, are they going to get rid of xbox live.

Because as it stands you still need to pay to go online.

But steam games and online is free on pc.

So are they going to scrap the payment schemes.

You cant have online xbox games having to pay and steam not paying.

It seems very messy.

The best golf game and a top rated monster hunter game.

Those 2 alone cover the price of the monthly sub if not exceeds it.

Non of them are really my go to games but I appreciate that they are varying their selections for everyone.

They are literally making remakes without them, they even put up a article a few days later asking what remakes would we like.

Blue point are renowned for going into older games and redesigning them for modern times, thats pretty much all they ever did.

Sony bought them after making the exceptional Demon souls, which even today is still one of the best looking ps5 games we have.

So buying a studio in which specialise in remaking games, you dont have them remaking your back catalogue?

The whole reason for buying them would be to do that.

What Playstation have done, is taken a very unique and talented team specialising in remakes, putting them on as a support team for a game, pushing live service onto them, without any experience and before they csn do what they was bought to do, you close the studio.

Blue point was doing absolutely fine without being bought, playstation buys them and shuts them down before they can even make a new game.

Yet on the other end, media molecule are still some how going, fairgame decelopers are some how still going, Bend some how are still going.

Yet Blue Point who made the best looking game on ps5, specialise in remakes, closed down.

Its like buying a well respected chain of shops buying them after their success and just going o it didnt work, best close then down.

Even though they were doing pretty fine without them

Complete miss management from playstation. Hurst unfortunately has to go.

You cant buy a top team doing great on their own to then just shut them down and made them be a secondary helping hand.

Well they should be backtracking in getting rid of blue point and making them the remake studio.

Either way I think the story is core and that wont change.

But the worrying thing for me is if they do change the gameplay.
For me it was central to the game.

Bluepoint have never made a bad game and are amazing at what they do.

Some how playstation buys them and shuts them down! Thats unacceptable, they was doing great without playstation.

Then you've got Bend, took over a decade to release DaysGone then get a game cancelled and some how still going?

@Kingy we will. But a remake is classed as the same core story but a overhaul of everything else.

I actually dont like the idea of changing the game to be more like norse games.

What made the god of war trilogy amazing was its core gameplay. No one truly cared about the story. It was a good story but the arcade combat is what made those games.

@Kingy they aren't changing it. They are just remaking them.

The story won't change and no technically what happens in the new ones hasn't really got anything to do with his past but more about his sons future and wife's legacy.

The original games is Kratos is just pure anger and wants to kill every god and also they are the pinicacle of arcade melee combat. Jist a pure delight to play let alone the crazy story.

Its really fustrating though that the demo section has just disappeared.

Pragmata I went on its main page clicked the 3 dots and the demo page for it was linked.

But Darwin I went there did the same thing and 0 link to the demo.

There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to how any of it works when it comes to demos. Which is a real shame because many games may be hurting because no one knows about a demo or cant find it.

@Grumblevolcano blue point had 2 games in development, a remake and an original. The live service was cancelled and they started work on another but we haven't heard anything since lainch from them.

Bend still last game was days gone. Im expecting an update at least.

We've got to be seeing what blue point have been up to and Bend.

We've seen nothing from them now for 5 or 6 years.

@Areus I mean variety is a stretch? Its a live service game. With a 3 person co op.

I think when we say variety, we mean more than just third person and that type of genre.

All of playstations outings right now have been open world or semi open world with their trade mark 3rd person adventure.

Bring me back a short 10 to 15 hours epic adventure like uncharted or a totally different genre, or a first person shooter single player.

Not a same gameplay as horizon but online with debatable looking graphics and not really what many wanted from a online horizon game.

And this is why live service only games really just need to die.

There should always be a single player element to a game so people can always play.

Even Arc Raiders great game but once it falls and people move on and the developers move on to new games in the end that will also shut down and unable to play.

You win some. You lose some.

But to think that December was a pretty bad selection offering games they already had on ps plus extra and then do it again for January.

I mean surely youd make either the last month of the year a banger or the firdt month of a new year a banger month and yet both gave us games which have already appeared already.

Slightly dissapointed but reality is if you aversge it out over the year weve had amazing games. Its just a let down the 2 months you think they'd throw out some heavy hitters. We didnt get any.

@Kiefer-Sutherland you would think the 2 biggest months of the year would either be the holidays Dec or start off the year with a bang. I understand you cant have a double whammy but both these months now seem to be the worse of the year.

Im going to bet now Jan is the worse month of 2026 for free games.
