God of War Ragnarok PS5 PlayStation 5 PS4 1

Like most Sony games, it looks like God of War Ragnarok will let you pick between 30 frames-per-second and 60 frames-per-second gameplay options on the PS5. A promotional email sent out by UK retailer Shop To, and spotted by Novice Gamer Guides, mentions that you’ll have the choice between “full 4K resolution at a targeted 30fps” or “dynamic resolution upscaled to 4K at a targeted 60fps”. Don’t worry too much about the “targeted” wording, this is just legal language in case there are any minor fluctuations.

The materials sound like they’ve come directly from PlayStation, although we will check in with the platform holder and try to get confirmation of God of War Ragnarok’s graphical options. It’s worth reiterating that these settings will be specific to the PS5 version, so expect both the PS4 Pro and PS4 versions to be capped at 30fps like its predecessor – although the supercharged format will likely push a higher resolution than its base console brethren.

The promotional message also mentions “multidirectional 3D audio” and “immersive haptic feedback with adaptive trigger functionality”. We can’t wait to feel the snap of Kratos’ axe returning to his hand through the DualSense controller. But which visual settings will you be selecting? It’s got to be 60fps, hasn’t it?
