It’s hard to get excited about Sonic games when there have not been many good ones lately. Or at all depending on your opinion.

@Ralizah Probably the reason. But I’m sure Dragon Quest would also do better in the West if they didn’t keep so many of the games Japan exclusive.

@NoxAeturnus Yeah, video games have been becoming less enjoyable to me because developers want to appeal to the “mature” audience who can’t seem to appreciate light-hearted simplicity and fun. I get that some series start out like that and take that route or have a more “mature” entry every once in a while and that’s totally fine. But if Dragon Quest takes this route for every game in the future and changes the way it’s played, it just might be lost on me.

@ApostateMage That’s exactly what they did with Final Fantasy. Now look at it. When you hear people talk about their favorite final fantasy it is usually not one of the main entries that released after the year 2000.

@MidnightDragonDX Dragon Quest XII was confirmed to be in development like a year or two ago, so this isn’t really news.

I’m going to be disappointed if it’s no longer turn based. Dragon Quest being traditional is what makes it so loved.

I would love a remake of Dragon Quest IX. I loved it on the DS and I think it would be awesome on a next gen system.

We already got a remaster of Dragon Quest 8. What we need is a remake of Dragon Quest IX. The multiplayer, downloadable quests and vocations gave hours upon hours of fun. You could challenge bosses from previous games, recruit certain NPCs into your party, and so much more. Dragon Quest IX is the game that really deserves a remake. On top of that, Dragon Quest X should be localized as well. It looks like a very fun time.

The black one looks nice! I think the red would look better if the colors swapped places but they look better than the default white one.

@doctommaso Simple. You get a protagonist who probably just got done mourning someone in the first hour or is going to. Then you have them placed slightly to the left with a third-person over the shoulder camera and you just keep holding forward and pressing X until something cool happens. Oh! Let’s not forget stopping every five minutes of gameplay to talk about something

I have the feeling they’ll still be making walking narrative simulators with different skins. I doubt they’ll make something fresh. I’m more interested in what third party developers are up to because third party exclusives are the only reason I got a PS4 back then.

They are still having this problem, yet want to give away their exclusives and had the gall to extend FF7R’s timed exclusivity. It just gives people more reasons to not get a PS5.

If Sony went through with this they’d be the biggest sellouts in gaming history. It’ll give people one less reason to want a PlayStation system.

@Odium Persona 5 Royal is a re-release and is the exact same game outside of what is basically DLC. You can complete the game the same way as you did in 2017 with the endings and all. Final Fantasy 7 is a complete overhaul and new experience

@Ralizah Here we go with the deflecting instead of holding Sony accountable like most PlayStation fans. Maybe no one told you but people were pissed about that too. Just about every Wii Shop channel game made it to the 3DS and Wii U if you didn’t know & both systems are backwards compatible with Wii & DS games.

@themightyant My thoughts exactly. There are movies I really enjoy that aren’t on streaming apps & I want to watch one or two a few times.

As usual the people on this site are defending this & not considering the people who would rent movies that aren’t on Netflix or Hulu. I would have friends and/or family over and we’d pick a good movie to watch for old times sake while we eat good food. I guess Sony wants to kill that now.

@dark_knightmare2 It’s because Sony is full of babies. I remember them calling TGA 2018 rigged because Red Dead Redemption 2 was sweeping awards, then they had a different tune once God of War won game of the year.
