I'm starting to feel that sony's main competitor is becoming Valve and steam. They try hard to make more money from casuals and they keep pushing new hardware. Steam deck was successfull enough to pursuit this direction.

It's almost a copycat to hollow knight. There might be lawsuits.

This might move the needle a bit to push some stock. Home consoles aren't suited for Japanese lifestyle. I wonder if the portal sells there.

Also, is worth noting that the sony stock price is doing very good lately. You don't mess that momentum with anything new or groundbraking you just stick to what works for the company.

Big blockbuster games are coming and selling those in the cheaper machine to manufacture makes sense.

A youtube video of average life in Japan is all the information you need to get the picture. Their houses are so small that people don't want to own even TVs. Half the day is also commuting between work and home. Handheld is king there and that will not change.

@Striker21 Yeah in theory microsoft has a very good plan, in theory. Their true colors always show sooner or later and get their best of this company. Sony could adapt as well if needed removing paywalls or stoping porting to PC as well. Who knows?

Selling consoles will always be very profitable cause you also sell tons of peripherals and you get to control every software sale in your ecosystem. Now getting xbox supporting playstation like this is the easiest money sony will make.

I used the remote play once in my home PC with good results. The tech is mature enough to enable the portal to do this.

The biggest aren't the best. I trully hate American business models and corporate speech. They try to push so hard for gentrification.

It might be the first time that i will skip next gen. 2 reasons. I have a huge backlog and the ps5's hardware seems very solid to last me a lot of years to come.

After i got the platinum i never touched it, but i think i'll maybe jump back again.

I like my consoles over engineered. All the OG models had that. Trying to keep costs down so much has me worring.

@Godot25 Yeah like streaming services rotating the same content across all platforms and hijack the prices up so every choise you make is the wrong one no matter what. I see the same pattern with games. Multiplatforms becoming lazy. Chasing only the safe bets. Technical disasters all around. Less and less people buy software. No i want 1st party masterpieces like we used to have.

@Godot25 There is a war in almost every product. If you have nothing different from your rivals then why push the envelope to innovate? Then you have a fixed market working like i cartel. Even worse for the consumer. Look at cellular companies for example. They are literally the same service/product hurting the consumer.

@TheFakulty Elden ring took a massive amount of my play time. I could finish 4-5 more games. Good thing is that i enjoyed it.

This was the generation that i spent the less money on games. PS4 and PS plus created a huge backlog with less and less free time to enjoy gaming.

Nostalgia hits hard but my guess is that warhammer is the better game to buy if you want some 3rd person action.

I checked my library and it seems i got this via ps+ at some point. Maybe i'll try it at last.

It took years but the base ps5 has started showing it's teeth.

Nintendo also doesn't do good sales. Their games seem to retain the original price for years to come. Sony on the other hand can be very cheap if you play the patience game and you are not an impulsive person.

In the grand scheme of things this could be the perfect trojan horse for microsoft to regain players for their games. Great empires only fall from inside.

@MrPeanutbutterz Many things can be done so ps5 players don't feel like second class citizens. The list is huge.
