@MrPeanutbutterz Many things can be done so ps5 players don't feel like second class citizens. The list is huge.

I guess PC master race gets what they want but we the playstation fans what do we get?

The thing is that sony again sold something half-baked and in tech some months later is like ages.

I believe devs want to see if the pro console really sells before eating extra development costs. We might have a ps vr2 situation again.

My OG PS5 feels great right now. Works like a charm, has a disc drive, it's still silent and bought before the price hike. Also the welcome hub made things a bit fresh too.

Once in a while sony makes a good move.

@gollumb82 I won't write off upscaling completely fo now, but it seems they are expecting people to be happy with a movie made by jpeg images or listen to 160kbps mp3 music. The information simply isn't there.

I said a million times that upscaling tech isn't the miracle that corpos trying to sell. NX gamer had a great video some years ago comparing DLSS to native image and guess what. Upscaling had serious problems with complex geometries and in general side by side there was no contest. I don't want simplified games and graphics to hit 100fps looking like an oil painting. Upscaling and AI based tech is the easy way . Video games is still a form of art. I wouldn't read an AI made book or listened to AI mastered and mixed music. So why play those games?

Is there a difference between ps4 and ps5 retail versions? I could only find the ps4 edition at retail.

It retail's as low as 15 euros so i might try them for some goofy fun. Playing elden ring right now has become a little tiring.

Not to be that guy but the pro model should also come with the elite controller or what they call it not the standard one.

People mostly consume art and video games for escapism. Force fed politics and hidden agendas don't feel right for them. I get it to a point. Everyone is working more for less and quality entertainment is crucial for your hard earned money. The last thing you want is a tv evangelist showing you the truth again and again. Tv got people sick first so i beg video games to differ and don't be next.

Microsoft skipping the mid-gen refresh could lead them to a better hardware position next gen. They have an opportunity to differ from sony. Ps6 can't be a lot different from ps5 pro.

I wonder if this strategy gains them new customers expanding the player base to the playstation ecosystem or just making existing ones to double dip.

@Loamy 30 fps with oled displays is making me nauseous. Always in game mode without extra motion smoothing.

In my country it seems that retailers are completely out of stock. There are some absurd prices like 100euros for the blu ray.

@OldGamer999 Tech companies will milk the 4k 60 threshold like there's no tommorow. The TVs are there for a couple of years but consoles and gpus still can't make it. I just don't believe it. In that pace ps6 won't be able to do it as well.

@Pranwell So all of the sudden the base ps5 is an eyesore no matter what..The fomo is real i guess i had no doubt. And guess what? Nothing beats native 4k. Not even the next dlss form nvidia can avoid image errors and artifacts. So the ps5 pro is still a console trying to do 4k.

@OldGamer999 Exactly. Before anyone double dips for the pro model they need to ask if their Tv set is doing the ps5 justice.

@carlos82 Yeah everyone with a high end TV will be just fine with the base ps5. My LG oled offers VRR that smoothes out alot of ps5 games and the upscaler to 4k is extremely good. 120 hz also makes possible to use the balanced game modes(if offered) to 40fps that can do miracles.

It's sad that the base ps5 can't expand It's fanbase very fast so they need the pro models for the same people to double dip and make more money.

No PC announcements so it's all good.

@naruball Maybe a few,maybe a million, so what? Their product failed to surprass the previous one with less and less reasons for the consumer to stick with them.

@naruball well, the console sales numbers so far tell us that not only this didn't happen but they didn't even manage to convert ps4 players to ps5.

Sony has lost all the goodwill from the players and gaming community and from now on they have an uphill battle to prove that they make good games and a good ecosystem to invest.It's very easy to hate on sony nowdays and they are to blame. They are becoming a gaming public enemy.

A London based studio could be really expensive. The same project located in Poland or Czech republic could cost the half amount of money.

Huge backlog of games i haven't played and want to buy (astrobot,aw2,warhammer etc). Zero time to revisit remasters. I made the mistake with tlou2 and i never booted the game once.

Sony's own pc strategy made their fanbase considering other options. Comparing price points and performance gains. Do you want the best presentation of sony's first party games? PS5 pro isn't your choice..Nvidia has your back.

Sony doesn't worth easy money from now on. They just stopped delivering their promises after the ps4 era. Ps5 and ps vr2 are minimum effort products and they don't care as long as the cash flows.
