Play These 8 PS Plus Games Before They Leave Next Week

Sand Land, Control, Mortal Shell gone on Tuesday

The monthly rotation of PS Plus Extra titles is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 19th May 2026 next week, meaning you're about to lose access to eight PS5, PS4 games in the subscription service.

This weekend represents your last chance to play them as part of your membership; once they leave, you'll need to buy them like normal. The departing titles are as follows:

MotoGP 25 (PS5, PS4)
Sand Land (PS5, PS4)
Soul Hackers 2 (PS5, PS4)
Mortal Shell (PS4)
Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition (PS5)
Control: Ultimate Edition (PS5)
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan (PS4)
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope (PS5, PS4)

Games like Man of Medan and Little Hope could still be started and finished in the time you have left, but the likes of Control, Soul Hackers 2, and Sand Land you'll need to treat like more of a demo. You're highly unlikely to finish them in three days, but it is possible.

Sandland is a great game. I disliked a demo but still tried the full game and loved it.

I tried Mortal Shell and it was awful. Don't bother.

Really tried to get into Mortal Shell but the implementation of the parry mechanic never felt quite right. I think at the time it was only 30fps on ps4 so I thought the jump to 60 frames on ps5 might make a difference, but nope. The timing is just off with it.

Control didn't age well. The story, characters and vibe were all really good. But damn that gameplay is bad. I made it through chapter 7 before I just turned on god mode and steam rolled through the rest to get to the end of the story.

Agree with @Damage99 Sandland is a great little game. Had a bunch of fun with it

@For-Kier Not sure about the PS5 version but I played through Control from beginning to end on my old PS4 Pro and enjoyed every minute of it.

Sand Land definitely surprised me. It's still very much a "Bamco anime game", and there's a little bit of fat that could get trimmed, imho, but the story and characters are surprisingly good and the vehicular combat and customization is way more fun than it has any right to.

Got the platinum which only really STARTED dragging towards the very end of the combat /arena missions and it made me buy the (amazing) Manga. It's interesting to see how different the two are and it's a pretty cool achievement that they managed to weave their additions so seemlessly into that framework, let alone that they managed to extend the story in a satisfying way FAR beyond the original work.

I think it's a 20-30h affair if you just do the story and the more important side quests, 50 or so for 100%. Definitely recommend that one if you're even remotely interested in Toriyama's work, action games with tanks and robots and junk (literally) or just a fun, a bit whimsical story with goofy characters.
