2K Games has announced that its fun arcade racing game, LEGO 2K Drive, will soon be delisted from digital storefronts, with multiplayer servers being shutdown in future.
The PS Store listing for the game has been updated with the following statement:
This product will no longer be available for purchase as of 05/19/2026.
NOTE: All multiplayer servers for LEGO® 2K Drive will be shutdown as of 05/31/2027. After that time, all game functions requiring online servers will no longer function.
So, from 19th May 2026 — that's in a few days — LEGO 2K Drive will no longer be available to buy.
Then, just over a year later on 31st May 2027, the game's online services will be switched off.
Fortunately, you can enjoy the majority of the game offline, but obviously it's a shame to lose access to online multiplayer and so on.
There doesn't appear to be any information on why this is suddenly happening, but it's most likely down to expiring licences. We'll update this story should any more details come to light.
We really quite liked LEGO 2K Drive, which features several open world maps to explore, the ability to make custom vehicles in a surprisingly robust builder mode, and plenty of races and other events to complete.
It did get bogged down by some pretty hefty monetisation, which you could safely ignore, but in a game aimed at children, it did feel a little icky.
Still, even when the game goes offline in 2027, there's definitely fun to be had with this.

It's a very fun game I'll definitely pick it up if it goes cheap enough before the delisting.
I liked it, just got way to repetitive. Also im not 8 anymore or i would be glued to it non stop as i was with the PS1 lego racers
Never did play it. Would have loved it when I was a kid.
So long as the majority of it is available offline but it really reinforces the skepticism about investing time and money into live service games.
Wasn't this in PS Plus Essential some years ago? Anyways, it currently sits at 19.99 instead of the launch price 69.99.
For anyone worrying about buying this before it's delisted, it was available December 2023 in PSPlus Monthly Games - so you should have it already.
@lacerz It's not a live service game. Just because something has multiplayer does not make it live service.
@TrollOfWar About to say the same thing - it was included in PS Plus Essential a year or two ago. I never bought it but I have it in my library. We bought a copy for my son and he still boots it up from time to time.
@Jacko11 weirdly I thought I claimed this, but seemingly not as I now can’t see it anymore. I even sold a physical copy as I had it on ps plus, must of been on ps plus extra and then got removed…
@Shaw_Brothers nar it was normal monthly mate:

@Yaycandy I feel the same way about the new LEGO Batman game.. if I was 10 again I’d tear that mf game up lol
Normally, I almost never buy and play this kind of games. But I tried it when it came as free from PS+ Essentials and (surprisingly) I astonished by it's open world design and I liked it. It is just pure fun, especially in the earlier part(s) of the game.
I noticed that some side missions are unnecessarly difficult but game is (for the most part) so much fun.
So... Thank you sony
(Note: I got all the achievements but the last 2 of them)
Just ordered it new in box sealed for Switch for $19. And I got it used but with the box and Lego car for $21 for PS4.
People keep saying "if I were a kid." Bro I wouldn't let my kid touch something this crass with monetization.
Like what???
@Jacko11 thanks for that, seems I must of missed that whole month! Doh! Not sure why I sold it now, maybe it was on gamepass when I had it. Or epic? Never mind!
This is why games shouldn't have online trophies/achievements for the main plat or complete list they should be DLC or a separate list
Dam I need to do the online trophies ASAP. Anyone up for doing together let me know.
I “added to library” when it was given away on PS+ essential a while ago. Will I still be able to download it after 19 May?
Might check out, didn't read the article till now.
