Yeah I imagine it would be hard to depict them if you're usually surrounded by plastic and make-up. If you watch their TV dramas you see a lot of regular folks who aren't mains looking very depict-able.

Some people might recall that Expedition 33 wasn't the first to put in the parry/ dodge system in a turn based rpg. We had Vagrant Story in the PS1 era. Even though I'm fully enjoying E33's gameplay the story pacing has been extremely annoying as I've got more than enough games on my plate where the characters are doing a lot of talking but not saying anything meaningful and in a world with such dire a setting I'd be doing a lot more slapping or violently shaking people for more information.
There have been so many other great elements and mechanics added to turn based over the years in various games. I'm guessing people just didn't play those games so they are unaware making it sound like the genre has done nothing but stagnate. From White Knight and Valkyria Chronicle to Resonance of Fate and Tales of Symphonia there have been some real gems all sporting their own unique takes on the genre and with great writing to boot.

The endless stream of gachas reminds me of that point during the early 90's where every other game was a side scrolling platformer or beat em up.
I tried watching the Arknights anime and couldn't get past ep 2. I'll be giving this a miss also.

For those interested in jumping into Warframe but don't know where to start, The devs have added a codex in-game that points you in the right direction story wise. You will be jumping around the solar system a lot but the story will be consistent.

Of course greedy corporate stooges would spout this kind of nonsense. I'm old enough to remember a time when these MT items were all available for free when you bought the game and just had to do challenges to unlock them. Those were some fun times. Some of the worst culprits today are in fighting games trying to coerce players into paying for palette swaps. Truly shameful times.

They've proven they can do the hero's journey the right way. I'd rather they stick to that a while longer but a new IP in a modern setting. Like the hopes I had for Infamous or Prototype.

It doesn't make sense that he has a stamina bar seeing as the Oni gauntlet is what's supposedly making him strong enough to wipe out armies of Genma unless they've changed that. Plus for someone who probably sliced thousands of bamboo before breakfast in his life having a stamina bar that will most likely be at 0 after 4 hits is dumb.

It was pretty average as an anime I don't know what all the hype was about. Hopefully S2 is better now they have a bigger budget.

Mech Break on steam. Haven't had a mech game this sweet since Zone of Enders. AC was fun but these Gundam type mech are more my preference, gameplay is solid too.

I don't care much for the character skins as it's just visual and no additional stats. Are there any weapon skins in the game? I'd much rather search for those.

This is such a joke. I remember over the years there have been articles and host shows based on which male actor showed the best butt on screen. It's all well and good when women do it but for guys it has to be creepy? Grow tfu. I still recall Orlando Bloom and Dicaprio (in their 20's btw) being slobbered over by any woman who could produce saliva. Same with Chris Hemsworth and I always thought each to their own. It's annoying as hell that guys have to keep justifying their perfectly healthy prefrences.

I'll wait to see what gameplay is like before I download. I'm pretty maxed out for gachas and this is too waifu and imoto heavy for my tastes. Maybe once they start releasing a few more male characters.

Hopefully ArcSys do an in game movie to tie in the games story like they did with Strive but with more action set pieces.

Liu kang was the champion but was always a tool. The next MK will probably rewrite his universe as a side story seeing as his actions spawned an entire multiverse of Titans. Raiden will be back at the helm and MK will flourish again.
I'm keen to play a new injustice with more fluid mechanics and controls. NR finally fixed the "I get knocked down but I get up again" when a characters HP reaches zero bug and after the travesty that was suicide squad online I'm sure the WB execs are breathing down their necks seeing as injustice 2 still has more cc players than Suicide squad.

It's most likely just me but I would like to see a War Gods remake now that gratuitous violence in games is a norm. That and Bloody Roar.

@Shigurui Hahaha a cancer indeed. D2 pops up on my Epic store page every now and then asking me for money to play their expansions and has the gall to have F2P written in the description. That's considered false advertising right?

@Nem I'd agree with you if Warframe didn't exist. I've been playing it for 8 years and just recently gave them money which was for the Rhino heirloom skin. The skin could be bought with platinum which any player can make through trading but I thought I should support them after all this time.

@Shigurui I heard that was the case from the clan I joined but I didn't get any of that. I dropped the game half way through Light fall. Re-running an hr long dungeon 30 times just to get a subpar exotic was the final kick in the teeth I needed to let it go.

Can someone explain to me how Destiny 2 is 'Free 2 play'? I started at witch queen and there were a host of planets to visit and alerts to do but that was it. Everything worth doing or owning was behind a paywall. I couldn't even land on the ice planet to get the powers without paying. It was just a demo and that's what it should be called imo. Warframe is F2P, First Descendant is F2P. This is not.

@get2sammyb It's the main reason my friends and I were interested. Hoping to do online battles with our crazy crafted weapons and items. My fault for not realising it was the base arcade mode only.

Khaos reigns was a terrible dlc. Having him as the boss was a dumb idea. He's barely even a character worth mentioning normally besides his absurd abilities. Using multiverse to make everyone super saiyan was extremely lazy writing especially since out of the big 3 MK had the best stories.

What? No crossplay and adventure mode removed from Power Stone 2? That's where you get materials to craft crazier items. How they messed this up is beyond me.

I don't give 2 f's about orientation or gender etc in games so long as they're solid characters. For this franchise that was Joel I immediately lost interest after what happened in part 2. There's no fun to be had when the MC is unavailable. Like a Street fighter game without Ryu and Ken or MK without Sub and Scorp which they did before and caught high hell for it.

Pre-ordered Capcom Fighting Collection 2. CVS2 and PowerStone 2 here I come. I couldn't play either online back in the day and am extremely keen for Power Stone 2 online. It always seemed like a smash bros killer to me back then but was only released on the Dreamcast.

The guitar hero looking parry mechanic has slightly put me off but I'm interested in playing the first 2 games now.

Wuthering Waves already has "this is all happening in cyberspace" undertones. It shouldn't be too hard to integrate Cyber Punk characters.

Joel carried Ellie through the first game for me and when the death happened in part 2 I quickly lost interest in the game. I was hoping they would showcase events between the 2 as there's a 5 year gap but as that is not the case I've dropped this show.

@get2sammyb What's the online like for Powerstone 2? Did you have a chance to try it out. I could never get into Smash bros ever since I played PS2 decades ago. Do they still have the crafting system? It was far more entertaining than most rpgs versions to this day.
