Re: Concord 'Didn't Bring Unique Value' to Players, Says Marvel Rivals Director

z0d15g0d

Sasser is right. Most gamers who are Marvel or DC fans tend to envision playing with their favourite hero. In my case it's Hulk and Cyclops so 1 out of 2 isn't bad. Unfortunately for Concord they didn't even try to make visually appealing or likable characters (plus charging to play). The Blizzard Ceo was also just butt hurt cause they messed up Overwatch 2 and now there's this contender.
I hope they get the balancing right and this game is widely accepted as I would like to see more heroes get their time in the light within this medium. i mean who really cared about Cloak and Dagger or Mantis? This game makes them pretty damn cool.

Re: Poll: Will You Be Watching The Game Awards 2024?

I've had just about as much as I can tolerate of him. He's a terrible host especially for a genre so dear to me. I'll watch the good work you guys do with the highlights. Have you considered doing commentary over such videos? I do enjoy your reviews and think I'd much rather hear your takes than anything he spews.

Re: Marvel Rivals Guide: The Ultimate Beginner's Resource

Played quite a few matches as Hulk as he's the most fun to use of the few characters I tried out. Unfortunately in some of the matches you will get a team that for some reason have decided to be all DPS so as the only tank you will get hunted. Especially frustrating if said trash team decide to blame you after a loss. The game will benefit from a forced roles mode.

Re: Horizon Rip-Off Light of Motiram Will Actually Come to PS5

@Flaming_Kaiser I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned that games copy off other games and anyone who's old enough on here to have played Turok or Turok 2 could make the comparison that Horizon is a PG Third person version of that. "Natives" fighting futuristic dinosaurs - check
Sci-fi versions of old weapons - check
Enemies with specific weak-points to specific weapons - check.
They made it 3rd person and added a female lead with neon "shoot here please" signs. Hardly original or unique enough to claim someone else is copying their IP. They could have called it Turok Horizons and no one would bat an eyelid.

Re: Square Enix's New AAA Games Are Being Trounced by Final Fantasy 14

@LowDefAl Thanks for that. I wasn't sure if I should continue but if I am in fact still at the tutorial phase till Lv 50(story missions right?) just to get new players up to speed with the ARR segments and can expect a significant improvement there after then I will slog it through. Now while I'm doing this if they can announce a FF8 remake...

I'm not sure what the hype is for ff14. I've been playing it a week or so (30 day trial). I'm on lv 40 and it's been endless fetch quests with a bit of story in between and that's if you focus on the main story which you're forced to do or the side quests and job quests remain locked till you progress. If anyone else is playing it, at what point does it get better?

Re: MultiVersus Underperforms, Another $100 Million Blow for Warner Bros

The characters aren't beloved enough to be in a smash type game. Bugs and co have been almost obsolete for decades now. Who was their demographic? They're better off using Netherealm to make their horror universe and launch each new character with their origin story and theme for each season. I'd pay more interest in that than whatever this was trying to be.

Re: Wolverine PS5 Lead Dev Leaves for Xbox's Perfect Dark Team

All the best to him. I hope he can bring Perfect Dark back to it's original glory and then some. I was unimpressed by the trailer shown earlier this year. Marcus has already worked on Spiderman so I'm expecting better things for Wolverine which I was currently on the fence for in terms of interest.

Re: Random: Killzone Superfans Want to License the IP from Sony

z0d15g0d

Horizon is an okay game I've played it a couple of times always got about half way through and got bored. It's great that there are players who think it's fantastic but that goes to show you that everyone has preferences. I've seen a few comments on here talking about how much money it made meaning it's an awesome game but as I've mentioned I bought it too and never cared to complete it and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in this.

Killzone 2 and 3 were my go to FPS games back in the day and that's when I had all 3 consoles so I had Cod and Halo too but preferred the Killzone franchise out of the 3. If a decent remake is released I'd probably choose that instead also. I'd say the least Sony should do is see if there's a worthwhile proposal and GDD presented cause at the end of the day their IP's represent their brand even if they never see the light of day again. Alternatively they could do what Epic did with Paragon but lock them into releasing it on their platform and see what comes of it.

Re: 25 Years Ago, Square Released the Best Final Fantasy Game

VIII was and will always be the best FF imo. Juctioning was amazing. seed exams while I was having exams in school was a kick in the teeth but fit the narrative. It was the only FF where the player truly lived the characters lives before the madness began. Every other game plops you in the middle of battle after the game begins and you learn their back story along the way.
