@trymer89 Wind Waker has it's tedious parts but to me the charm and adventure are well worth it.

Promenade. Got it on sale for $7. Charming platform / exploration / puzzle game. I've also been trying to play FF16 but all the characters are dreary drips and I kinda don't care about anything that happens. It's like when I tried to play Witcher 3 and just couldn't force myself to like it.

I guess we'll see how much Sony actually needs the enthusiasts vs general consumer. Are the 20% who still bought discs going to avoid ps6 altogether?
I lost enthusiasm for Nintendo many years ago. Was always a PS enjoyer but never hardcore. They're all just companies.

It's a multitude of factors making ps6 less interesting. I already shifted to mostly digital during the ps4. But aside from that, less and less unique first party games. Less improvement between generations. It'll be a long time before I get any new hardware anyway so I've got a while to see how it all shakes out. We'll see if Plus Extra maintains it's value over time. I enjoy it now, but they may be hard at work making it worse.

Star Wars Outlaws, Ufo 50, and Ori

This article seems like an overreaction. Companies are always experimenting with various ways to promote their brands. Let them flop around in peace, man. That being said I've always been xbox-curious. But nothing has really made me want to buy an additional console. The cost isn't an issue, but I'd never have the time to make proper use of it unless I skip PS for a generation. Also more clutter under my TV.

Hey at one time even Super Mario Bros had an official PC port. Everybody has to try it at some point.

@Almost_Ghostly hell, sometimes I skip a generation. The market is flooded, I only have time for so much entertainment.

Procedurally generated usually means soulless. If it hits Plus or is on sale for super cheap I'll try. But their previous games were extremely difficult with beyond finicky controls, so they don't have a good track record for making things actually fun.

Was just thinking about Neon White! One of those games I'll end up either loving or hating so I didn't want to buy it. And Horizon will be a handy multiplayer for when the nephews visit.

@Oram77 will do! I love walking sims for when I'm too tired to play anything challenging.

I'll give it another go when it goes on sale. No idea if I'll feel driven to finish this version either so I'll wait.

@Oram77 unfortunately the online of that game has been dead for years, and barely functioned to begin with. Great game though.

So $9 off for people who already bought the PS4 version? I'll wait for a better deal. It was an ok game for the first few levels. But became an ordeal to play further in and never finished.

Was interested in Viewfinder! Saw a promising review when it was new, but I forgot all about it. Plus pays off again.

My problem with Plus is I don't have the time to play all the good stuff. I quit buying games a while ago so everything is new to me.

I enjoy renting games. Always have. It's like having a video game rental store in my living room. People who complain about the value probably didn't game in the 90s. There's dud months and killer months. But there's always more good stuff in my backlog from Plus to play than I have time for. And I like trying out random stuff.

Still chipping away at PoP! Maybe I'll figure out how to beat the Franks in Bomb Rush as well. I'm not great at controlling those sorts of games.

If they could make it be a genuine seamless console experience, I'm interested. I have my doubts. I've tried PC gaming a few times. The hassles far outweighed any advantages for me.

@LogicStrikesAgain I agree with you. I'm old, and compared to the price of gaming in the 80s and 90s it's quite the deal. Imagine being able to rent a rotating selection of 1000 games in 1992 for a year for like $75.

Sand Land, PoP, and maybe a little more High on Life. Making use of my Plus sub, as always.

I'm still chipping away at POP:TLC. It basically does everything right for a Metroid style game.

I wonder if some of these titles will make their way to ps plus after a few years.

Glad I got a disc one on sale for 400 a few years ago. I guess I'll ride this out til the console is completely dead. We'll see if Sony has gone the nickel and dime Nintendo route by that point.

I finished Jedi Survivor so now I'll play Prince of Persia as my main. Plus didn't have much to interest me this month, so I've got time for the backlog.

Nintendo hasn't felt the same after the Cube. They did most things right with it, a lot of creative takes on classic titles. Fun, whimsical games. Affordable hardware and greatest hits at $20. The Wii pushed them in a gimmicky direction and the success of Switch turned them into a Disney Theme park nickel and dime greed fest.

Considering what I get from Plus Premium for $160 a year, I ended up losing interest in Nintendo after Wii U. Up to that point N would re release games as "greatest hits" for $20. Now they do the opposite. There's maybe 4 must play exclusives they make per generation. May as well wait til the end of the gen from now on.

This is why I've been mainly a Playstation guy since Wii U. Nintendo is a nickel and dime company. A year of Plus Premium, on a machine that isn't 2 generations behind, or 2 Nintendo games. An upgraded rerelease of BOTW being $80 is insane.

I assume Nintendo will always dominate the console market there. But it will be a rapidly shrinking market.

Another good month for me. Dang I'm spoiled.

Here's to hoping it hits Plus in a year or so!

Glad to give DAV a try. I already have Sonic and all the TMNT roms I need, but this is a good variety for people.

I jumped into PS4 generation late so I went straight to the Pro because it was a small price difference from the slim. If a person were to do the same now, it's quite a bit different. Heck, a lightly used PS5 slim with disc drive is under $400. That's close to $300 difference to grab a Pro and a drive.

Still working on Ragnarok. I'll think about these later.

Well that a lot of games for $99. Too bad there's no love for regular subscribers though.

What's with the urge to turn EVERYTHING into a movie? Irish Spring soap, the cinematic universe.

The Horizon world would have fit a MMO pretty well. FF14 was too complicated for me but i would have tried this. Oh well.

I was one of the people waiting for Ragnarok. I had plenty of a backlog to keep me occupied. Interested in Anno as well.

They really had to learn the hard way. Oh well.

Well hopefully this sort of service sticks around as an option, because I sure enjoy it. I like renting games. Digging through digital store sale pages has become miserable.

Well good. It's a creative game. Didn't think it was a mind blowing masterpiece, but as an action rpg with some odd ideas here and there I had a good time with it and I'm glad a lot of other people gave it a chance.

Ack. It's best not to signal boost complainy internet trolls. It's just endless with these people.

I'm glad they're not constantly rehashing the same thing like how Nintendo does with Kirby, Pokemon, etc. And they do make the best of the best "epic" style games. But it's time for more variety.

Grabbed Okami for $5. Never did get far in it back in the day. Hopefully I can tolerate the blur effect enough to at least get halfway through this time.
