The chances of a new Banjo-Kazooie game, or even just a remake, releasing in the next few years appear close to zero, so you'll need to source your collectathons from elsewhere. Yooka-Replaylee, a remake of the PS4 original title Yooka-Laylee, may scratch your itch.
Playtonic has shared the PS5 remake will launch on 9th October 2025 for £24.99 / $29.99 digitally, or $49.99 physically.
Buying a boxed copy grants you "enhanced packaging" as well as "bonus goodies" found only in the retail version. If you already own the game on PS4, you'll get a 30% discount on the launch price.

Yooka-Replaylee takes the base game and enhances it in many different ways, including new story moments, entirely new minigames and platforming challenges, another type of collectible to find, improved resolutions and performance, and updated controls and a better camera.
Studio director Gavin Price called the package "bigger, brighter, bolder, and packed with all the little touches we always dreamed of. We can’t wait for players to jump in". You can also look forward to new features like a completely new map and a collectibles tracker. Even the soundtrack has been enhanced, as Grant Kirkhope and David Wise's work has been arranged as an orchestral score.
Yooka-Replaylee is the definitive remade and enhanced version of the 3D indie platforming collectathon darling, Yooka-Laylee, developed by key creative talent behind the Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country games. New remixed challenges and old favorites await as you embark to explore the huge, beautiful open worlds as the lovable buddy-duo Yooka and Laylee once more, all while backed by a beautiful orchestral soundtrack.
Chief marketing officer at PM Studios, Ami Blaire, added: "It’s rare to see a game get this kind of second life — not as a remaster, but as a true reinvention. It’s the kind of release that reminds you why I fell in love with platform games in the first place.”

Honestly never understood the hate for the original PS4 version. I got it on launch and found it to be a good spiritual successor to Banjo Kazooie.
In fact I like it better than Banjo Tooie, and we don't even need to talk about Nuts and Bolts.
I enjoyed the game but I don't think I could face it again. It was frustrating as hell in some sections. Also the fact that the talking was mumbo jumbo and therefore pointless, I couldn't put up with that again.
I really enjoyed the original Yooka-Laylee when it released. It wasn't perfect, no, but I could tell Playtonic did everything they could to honor Banjo.
Really looking forward to Replaylee.
Looking forward to this. Trailer looks like 60fps, hoping I’m not seeing things.
My son is gonna like it, this will make for a great gift for his name day on October 18th.
It doesn't exactly paint the studio in the good light when your third game is the remaster of your first.
I would kill for banjo on PS5... I have such love for that game, and played it a few years back on xbox, it really still held up
Can games please stop releasing in October, there is already way too much coming out that I want to play.
I never played the original because of the mixed reviews, but if this turns out well I'm definitely interested.
I enjoyed the original so much I platinum'ed it. I would double dip if they offered a discounted upgrade. Otherwise, maybe I'll pick it up later on when it's on sale.
I don't remember much about the game, but I do recall that it was mildly entertaining. Not brilliant, but a good time waster. I'll consider the remaster only if it counts the physical edition for the discount.
My name on the credits as I gave some money to the Kickstarter the only time I gave money to a game it had it's flaws but solid platformer.
Never played Yooka-Laylee but have always been interested, at that price point I think I'll take the dive when it launches!
So $9 off for people who already bought the PS4 version? I'll wait for a better deal. It was an ok game for the first few levels. But became an ordeal to play further in and never finished.
The game has its flaws, but I enjoyed my time with the original version. I'm in no rush to get the remake though.
Nope. Shoulda got it right the first time guys. They can stick this right up their ass
I wanted to like the first but it was awkward to play with odd controls and lots of wandering around doing nothing. Think this remake will fix it all.
The impossible lair was superb though. Hope to get a sequel to that someday
Yeah, I bought the original at launch and paid the price for my decision. I don't trust these guys and will not purchase another game from them. Fool me once, shame on you... and so forth.
@Dalamar straight to the keyboard to whine with your wash-away comment rather than actually knowing what you’re talking about . Third game? Ha, really? Actually research before you comment
@kailun I do get what @Dalamar is saying, he means the third release from the studio is a remake of the first. I recently bought from PSN the second game Yooka-Laylee and The Impossible Lair, although I haven’t played much of it.
@VenomUK Impossible Lair is pretty good. One of the few games where the final level is accessible straight from the start. How they do that level is pretty interesting and the player can make a decision when to attempt at any time they wish. I got the platinum for it a while back and it was certainly one of the most satisfying ones.
