Hopefully the GTA remasters do poorly then. I want new games equally as good or better than old games, not remasters thank you. Time wasted on projects like these is time that would be better spent on creating something new rather than using the lie of nostalgia when in reality it’s done purely because it’s a cheap, quick (compared to making a new game) moneymaker for the studios
Whoever is in charge of marketing over there needs a massive raise. They’ve drummed up SERIOUS chatter with almost minimal cost and if the game is even halfway good, let alone excellent they’re gunna cash in majorly. It’s a bit of a marketing masterclass really. Watch this space as they say
Anyone who knows consoles knows this is no surprise. The first year a new gen of console is released is always slim pickings for real. Like for real real. The second year picks up quite a bit and has some good releases but is still under compared to what you’re used to. In the 3rd year is when it really hits its straps and starts producing the amount of quality titles you’d expect and games being released on the previous gen are slowing down to almost none at all
@riccyb0y I’d argue it is reasonable still lol, but yes, it’s never going to happen. The only way this would happen is if people stopped supporting it, which they should. It’s the exact reason I personally stopped playing sports games and any games that feature online play accompanied with micro transactions
It’s called building up hype. People are literally frothing to get a look at this game and everyone saying they’re tired of it etc will instantly check it out when the preview becomes available for sure. They lyin’ hard out. Smart strategy. Sounds like it may be a Kojima game tho so it’s a hard pass from me. The horror genre ain’t my thing either. Guarantee they’ll make a fortune though so good on em
Get rid of micro transactions completely and focus entirely on the gameplay. You know how games should be and how your customers want them to be. Anything else is just window dressing to fool your customers once again that your game isn’t what it actually is, a money trap merely disguised as a game
Not something I’d be interested in. But cool if you’re right into anime. PlayStation plus’s included monthly games aren’t good enough to warrant a subscription though, that’s the major problem
@gbanas92 10/10 means perfect in ALL categories including graphics. 8/10 means excellent in all categories, unless most of them are 10/10 in which case as you mentioned a lower score in graphics would be rounded up by the higher score of the other categories into an 8 overall. This game isn’t a 10/10 in most categories. It’s not an 8/10 overall either. It’s a 6, and that’s being generous
Not my sort of game but it looks pretty sick for ppl that’d get into that. Sort of like a mix of air hockey and volleyball with a small pinch of indoor soccer. With cool sounds and a nod to retro if the playability is great then they may just have a hit on their hands
@Bleachedsmiles what’s odd is separating genre’s in order to make something stand up as accurate when clearly it doesn’t compared to another 8 outside of the genre. It’s not an 8. You know it, and so do I
Looks like it’s going to be a good game but I don’t pay anything more than half price max (Thats absolute max, I’d be looking for the $20ish AUD or $14ish USD) for good/very good games. Only excellent games get full $ from me. I’ll just wait a year or 2. Gotta be a 30+ hour open worlder Rpg/rpg elements pretty much. These short and sweet games can F off basically
Pass. Co-op and multiplayer based games are lame but when they allow you to play the game solo it’s just as bad. Single player offline or no buy from me
I’m not surprised. These games aren’t my thing but the upgrade these remasters have from the originals is significant to put it mildly. And the reason it’s done so well is quite obvious too, single player offline campaign games are king and always will be
@james_games they make the previous gears games look bad in comparison. I have number Gears 5 rivalling Uncharted 4 which is saying a lot as being more of a shooter it is “missing” some elements that Uncharted has (such as puzzles) but doesn’t at all feel like it’s missing anything at all. I’d have to do a side by side to be sure but on memory I’d probably even have Gears 5 by a hair ahead
@Carck the pace at which games are being released at is nothing new as this is the way on the launch of all new gen consoles. In the first year it’s slim pickings for real, 2nd year isn’t bad but it’s still under what you’d expect aka how it was the last 4 or so years of the previous gen and in the 3rd year is when it gets up to speed and starts releasing AAA titles at the pace you’re used to. The more true AAA games that come out, the more the features will be utilised. That’s just the way it is
Agreed with it comes down to the games. Sony has by far the better exclusives, even with the Bethesda deal. Ps not even mentioning that sweet af dualsense controller. As time goes on that baby is going to get even more immersive. Compared to xbone and series x controllers it’s levels above. Xbox feels prehistoric in comparison
Well since Skyrim came out in 2011 that’s not much of an achievement given all the new/expanded tools they’ve got to tell said story with. Might check it out tho as a 7/10 is easily an 8/10 if you’re a fan of the genre. Which I am. Definitely not for full price though. At around ten hours to complete it, that’s way under…even if it was 10/10
@james_games if you haven’t already make sure you check out Gears 4 and Gears 5. Both are great games man. Especially 5 which imo is a masterpiece. They were the only exclusives I found worth playing on xbone
@james_games that said though, if I could only have one, I’d still keep my Ps5. Probably Elder Scrolls and Fallout would be my number one and two games of this generation but the rest of the top ten will be all PlayStation. Apart from Bethesda all Xbox has in terms of AAA exclusives is Halo (not interested), Forza (not interested) and Gears (Dope as hell but I could live without playing it)
@james_games can you live without playing Starfield, any new Fallout game (A real fallout game, not that online BS) or the new Elder scrolls game (again, the upcoming real elder scrolls, not the online BS)?
If the answer is yes then sell your series x. If no then keep it and scrimp and save to get a Ps5 as well.
I was in that situation myself as I’m a MASSIVE Fallout and Elder scrolls fan. Also am keen af to check out if Starfield was going to be similar in style and quality. Most other Bethesda games I can miss tho. Lucky for me my wife already has a series x cos she is team Xbox (her favourite game is Halo) so I’m not in that situation where I’d have to buy a series x just to play 2, maybe 3 games
@james_games get one whenever you feel like it. Not like they’re going to go down in price by next year anyway. Maybe $50 AUD (not sure where you’re at) less by the end of next year. It plays all the Ps4 games lightning fast as well
FYI Stephen, no need to post this article at the end of next month. Lol no ones gunna thank you for reminding them to get that dumpster fire of a selection before it’s gone 😉
