Re: Monster Hunter Wilds' Huge Title Update 2 Confirmed for End of June

iSmokeWii

I used to really love the MH series, but it feels like the magic of the grind has been removed. I fell off MHW really quickly as did a lot of my friends so idk how I feel about this update. The hunts being so easy really gives me no reason to hop back in other than to see the monster in action one time. I don’t wana be a total negative Nancy though so let me just say Rise is phenomenal & the wirebug is the greatest feature the series ever included lol

Re: Foamstars (PS5) - PS Plus' Sudsy Shooter Is Good, Clean Fun

iSmokeWii

I’m a huge Splatoon fan (still play daily) and let me say FoamStars is definitely not a cheap knock off. It has similar aesthetics in that it’s colorful but the gameplay is much different. I’m actually really enjoying FoamStars, already have 15ish hours logged and I’m excited to play more. That being said, I do hope they add more modes, maybe chill (pun intended) with the insane microtransaction prices, and Lee adding to this game because it has potential. Even more trophies than the 12 offered would be welcomed, and give players reasons to come back. I do get a feeling they aren’t going all in yet until they see if it’s successful, and idk if that’s gona help keep people around. Foam on people 🛁🏄‍♂️

Re: God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla Set After Main Game as Kratos Faces His Past in a Personal Story

iSmokeWii

Man what a disappointment for me. First Last of Us2 & now Ragnarok just slapping a rougelite mode on to these games in lieu of story dlc, really concerning. I woulda bet anything Artreus would be the focus of dlc but instead we get more kratos. Coulda sworn last of us woulda at least give us the old factions mode if this separate multiplayer thing keeps being pushed back but nope we get another rougelite mode. I can’t express to you how much I dislike this new trend. What a bummer

Re: Vampire FPS Redfall Was in Development for PS5, But Was Canned After Xbox Buyout

iSmokeWii

Not a console wars guy but anyone who thinks Microsoft just buying up all the competition (because they can’t make good games themselves) while at the same time saying they “don’t wana block any games from gamers” is drunk lol It’s one thing for Sony/Nintendo to spend decades cultivating studios and games to make successful AAA games exclusivity for their consoles, it’s entirely different when Microsoft who has trillions of dollars from their other ventures can just swoop in & overpay for chunks of the industry solely to block games & try and keep their money bleeding GamePass service alive. Phil Spencer gona tell you everyday how he loves games and gamers and Sony has nothing to worry about but we all know CoD & every other huge franchise will not be on any other platform the moment they can do it. And it won’t stop at just this acquisition, this is a very slippery slope that in the end is not going to be good for us, the consumer.

Re: Reaction: Activision Blizzard Buyout Is Devastating for PS5, PS4

iSmokeWii

@Nightmaremensis yo don’t spend $65 BILLION dollars to keep everything the same. CoD will absolutely be exclusive to Microsoft’s ecosystem, that’s the whole point. But maybe in very near future you won’t need a Microsoft console to play it. Cloud gaming & GamePass could easily be on future smart TVs or tablets. But don’t get it twisted, just like they said at first Bethesda games won’t be locking out gamers, they lying. You don’t spend that much money to keep the status quo. Just a sad day tor the gaming industry overall. Monopolies are never good for consumers

Re: Soapbox: There's a Nintendo Direct Today, But I Wish We Had a State of Play to Look Forward To

iSmokeWii

I was HYPED for this Nintendo Direct, but I totally understand your feelings on Sony at the moment. I play 900ish hours a year of both consoles according to the end of the year wrap ups, so I was stoked to get a PS5. As the silence leading up to launch grew I became less interested in getting PS5 day 1. I got to unbox and play a friends, and I've been remote playing his console from my PS4 for all the new PS5 exclusives. I say that to say this, I am SO HAPPY I waited to get a PS5. I've played Astro Bot & Miles, tried some PS5 version last gen games and after 2 weeks I am bored of what PS5 has currently, and Sony has done zero to get me interested again. Seems like such a far cry (pun intended) from the PS4 launch when it felt they could do no wrong and truly cared about the players and what we wanted. I really hope Sony comes out swinging soon but as of now they've made it really easy to wait to buy into next gen. Still love my PS4 and play it daily but man, Sony needs to start communicating what the plan is, and soon.

Re: Talking Point: What Content Do You Want from Push Square?

iSmokeWii

Oh also, small thing but the newest comments in this section are always at the very bottom, which can be annoying to scroll down. Maybe flip that? So newest comments are at the top and more easily viewable 🤷🏽‍♂️ Sometimes when ps plus games come out I have to scroll down the comments to see what people saying now about a game that’s 4-6 years old, when the first comments you see can be outdated

Re: Talking Point: What Content Do You Want from Push Square?

iSmokeWii

I’ve been following this site and NintendoLife for years, daily, and I’ll be honest I didn’t know y’all had a YouTube channel. To be fair I’m not a huge Youtuber but maybe some more videos linked to the website, some “let’s play” style videos where we get to know who works for the site and see them try new games or play funny co-op together. Besides that y’all Crushing it so keep up the good work

Re: Soapbox: The Conversation About Games Moves Too Quickly

iSmokeWii

I almost never buy games on or near their release date, so this article resonates with me. I have a group of buddies who love to discuss all things gaming but it does feel like even the largest games of the year, Last of US 2 being a recent one, that we spend months talking about leading up to its release then seems gone 2 weeks later. But like you said, it's a sign that we are spoiled with an endless amount of amazing games. At the end of the day I still enjoy them so I guess I cant really complain.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 347

iSmokeWii

Played PT with my wife, forgot how goddamn terrifying that demo is. Restarted Until Dawn, which is my favorite (only one I am able to finish) horror game ever? I also beat Journey for maybe the 15th time, on PS3 no less lol And tonight I tried this game Lydia for Switch and it was pretty depressing. So I guess you can say I had a pretty great weekend

Re: Poll: How Much Are You Willing to Pay for PS5?

iSmokeWii

I am not super wealthy by any stretch of the imagination, and I do understand this is a lot of money. That being said, at this point unless its PS3 era high, does it REALLY matter? I want a PS5, not at launch, but eventually. I know going in it'll be hundreds of dollars. But is price really gona change a person decision at this stage? You either want Sonys exclusive games or you dont, or you prefer GamePass, or you dont. We know itll be around $400-$500ish. So who really cares at the end of the day, were on these forums cuz were gamers right?

Re: Soapbox: Rhythm Games Are the Real Stars of PSVR

iSmokeWii

I totally agree, PSVR has been a godsend during quarantine as I got mine literally days before Covid hit. I recently bought Pistol Whip & cant stop coming back to it, same with Tetris Effect (not rhythm but still a music centric game). Thumper was one of the first demos I tried and fell in love. You made a great point in saying we all intrinsicly move to the beat of a song so it's almost natural when you're in VR. Can't wait to see this genre expand and what cool ideas devs come up with next. PSVR is truly one of the most enjoyable ways to experience certain games, especially with 3D audio.

Re: State of Play Confirmed for This Week, Will Focus on PS4 and PSVR Games Along with Some PS5 Game Updates

iSmokeWii

I don't find this news as bizzare or strange as others seem to. When it comes to a console launch, most people have made up their minds before price or features are announced if they want it or not. We're also in the midst of a pandemic where like 1/3 of americans are losing work and money, so I can understand trying to figure that out or maybe changing pricing on the fly to accommodate for people struggling financially. I'm getting a PS5 a year or so after launch regardless of price so it's nbd for me. That being said, i AM excited to get more PSVR news, & if anything i just wana know what/how my ps4 accessories and games will be able to be used on the PS5. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Re: Poll: Would You Still Pay for PS Plus if Online Multiplayer Was Free Elsewhere?

iSmokeWii

I've had Ps Plus since it launched way back when. The "free" games alone have made it more than worth it for me, especially with the PS Vita. Literally every game released for Vita i eventually got, & the end of the PS3 era gave us some massive hits by the service. I don't really see it as paying to play online games, because tbh i rarely do. The amount of games I've gotten make it worth the value. Playing Rise Of The Tomb Raider rn and LOVING it, would prob never buy that even on sale but now that i'm playing it i can't believe i waited this long. So for me as long as they give us dope games and good sales, PS Plus isn't a issue for me.

Re: Iron Man VR Demo Lands on PS4 Today

iSmokeWii

Such a nice surprise waking up to this news. I just got a 12 pack & some herbals for when my wife goes to bed so I can REALLY immerse myself lol very encouraging to see some people say they didn't feel any motion sickness too, Firewall almost made me vomit and left me feeling sick for a few hours. But lately I've been playing more and more VR and it feels like maybe ive adjusted to it a little. If I can get through the demo without feeling sick this will 100% be a day 1 purchase for me. VR has been so great during the quarantine!

Re: Video Game Engagement Up 75% Amidst Coronavirus Lockdowns

iSmokeWii

Just finished God of War. Started Horizon Zero Dawn last night. Recently got PSVR so I've been playing Astro Bot Rescue Mission & Moss with that. Ring Fit Adventure has been my morning workout, and my wife & I been playing a ton of Just Dance so we dont go stir crazy. Lets not forget Animal Crossing New Horizons this friday too!!! Great time to be a gamer.

Re: PS Plus March 2020 PS4 Games Announced

iSmokeWii

I have no issues with either game, but I already own SoC for ps3 (it was free years ago as a ps3 ps plus game). I was hoping for another VR offering since I finally caved & bought the headset this week, but I guess it was wishful thinking.

Re: PS Vita Remains a Viable Platform in 2020

iSmokeWii

The Vita is such a great system that was criminally under-marketed. I have countless stories of friends of mine or strangers who see me playing it not knowing much about it, playing it for 15 mins and asking where they can buy one. The remote play with PS4 alone makes this a must have for most gamers & have no clue it even exists. It's nice to see it still being supported!

Re: Soapbox: Don't Dismiss Bloodborne Because of Its Difficulty

iSmokeWii

i've been told by countless people to try bloodborne, so when it was announced as a ps plus game my buddies were so excited for me. but even after reading beginners guides, & now having no excuse to atleast try it, i still have no desire to play it. even if it's not as challenging as a souls game which i heat are brutal, i'm just really turned off by the idea of the souls-like game. maybe one day i'll attempt to play it but for whatever reason i can't see myself ever enjoying this style game

Re: Sony Didn't Really Want Another God of War Game

iSmokeWii

I've tried to get into the GoW games but they're just not for me. That being said I was obviously a little disappointed when Sony Santa Monica announced another game in the franchise. Feels like they're trying to milk whatever's left from the franchise instead of trying something new. Hopefully this we'll be the last one for a while and they can wow us with a new IP down the road

Re: We Wish You a Merry Christmas

iSmokeWii

Merry Kristaps!! My wife got me South Park:Fractured But Whole with the Coon remote control kart, so it's a happy holidays indeed. Hope everyone got the games they wanted, and a big thank you to everyone at Push Square for another great year. Now let's drink some spiked egg nog and play some games!!

Re: Sony Says Goodbye to the PS3 After 10 Years on the Market

iSmokeWii

I got my PS3 in 2012, after a little
hiatus from Sony I was only playing Wii at the time. I was knee deep in the newly released Skyward Sword, and I got my PS3 for xmas. I've yet to ever finish Zelda because PS3 consumed my life lol I had a buddy at work who had basically every game and let me borrow them one at a time, so I played hundreds
of classics almost immediately. I can remember countless hours playing Uncharted 3 online. I remember playing Journey for the first time and it changing my view on video games. Last of Us was mind blowing. ps plus gave me so many good memories as well. I love my ps4 but I still play PS3 from time to time. it will always be one of my favorite consoles and it brings up nothing but great memories. Rest easy PS3, you're truly special.
