I love my Vitas (I have old, aqua blue and neon orange as pictured in he article) and I’m still happy to get the few physical’s that are still released but it will be a sad day when it completely stops.
The Switch Lite aesthetically looks cheap and way less elegant/cool compared to my aqua blue or neon orange Vita.
Only surprised that God Of War is missing. I even considered buying it on digital (I have launch date pro and physical copy of the game and the noise that kicks out is ridiculous).
Raging Bull is one the (mini?) bosses I did on my first go (the other being the boss right before), and I would class myself as average ability (certainly nothing like those skilled guys on you Tube). I’m surprised that’s the one they toned down difficulty on this boss when there are much harder ones.
Spider-Man is my second favourite of 2018, only bettered by God Of War (that game is just one hell of a ride from start to finish and beating all the Valkyrie’s was great fun and just the right amount of challenge). I haven’t got Platinum yet so I have a good excuse to revisit (as if I needed one) in 2019.
I love the Vita and the past year, it is the console I most invested in! I bought a secon slim (aqua blue) to go with my OLED 1st iteration. Bought my daughter the neon orange (you have pictured). I have so many digital PSP and PSOne and Vita games that I could play for years after it’s stop releasing games. I’m still actively buying physical release (I have over 50 and counting). Only the other day I placed pre order for gundemonium (however it’s spelled) for PS Vita instead of PS4 from Strictly limited. In a way the fact it is so niche has a certain kind of appeal to a collector like me.
I know it will stop soon but for me, it remains an exciting console. Right now in between console gaming on PS4, I’m going through axiom verge in vita. Next game, I intend to finish is Velocity 2x, followed by Bunny Must Die, Demon Gaze II, Dungeon Travellers 2, Super Hydorah, Undertale (all physical games)....I could go on
I assume it’s not on Vita? It makes me sad not seeing them on Vita (ideally a physical release).
Vita: certainty of purchase. PS4: most likely not (although I like it my PS4 time is already backlogged- I mean I still have heavy hitters like P5, God Of War and Yakuza 0 to complete!)
Well in the last few months I’ve been on A buying spree of physical Vita games I’ve been meaning to get spending over £500 (I decided to get as many as I can before games get ridiculously expensive as they are mostly special edition or limited production).
Some of the games I recently bought Axiom Multiverse, Castle Castllia, Undertale, Shante, Velocity 2x, few Limited run games, Japanese DRPGs (Demon Gaze 1 & 2, Mary Skelter etc), Yvs (Origin, Celseta, VIII)...and a few more that I won’t bore you with.
I still have a number of games yet to get that I really want - Reverie is out this week for pre-order, Rainbow Skies, God of War, Ratchet Trilogy,
It is surprising how well physical Vita games keep their value but the reason I collect physical is because I love them in my collection and the Vita is such a cool machine. Even contemplating buying a second one (the neon orange model is gorgeous and would complement my launch day OLED machine).
Majority of my PS Vita collection Ian digital. Now that it’s entering its twilight years I look at my game shelf and only see a handful of vita games and it made me regret not buying physical. Now I’m busy re-buying physical and guess what, some games that are quite cheap digital are very expensive physically I’m finding out (I payed Newark’s £50 for Castilla LTD edition on Vita and £32 for Ys Origin for example while they are between £10-15 on PSN).
Come on Atari, advertise a little! One of the greatest Jeff Minter series is about to be re released!
Needless to say, irrespective of price it’s day one.
Jeff games are a highlight. For whatever reason he doesn’t get the commercial success he deserves.
Polybius is still one of the greatest VR games out there (along with Rez VR). TXK is one of the best vita games out. Space Giraffe is one of the best XBLA games out there. Tempest 2000 is one of the best Saturn games out there.
Another month and no sight of ACA Neo Geo Blazing Star. It’s been in Japanese PSN since early Feb. I guess I will have to bite the bullet and buy Jap PSN voucher card (I hate paying extra markup but in this case I have no choice).
I would really appreciate if you could find out whether Blazig Star (ACA Neo Geo), out on Jap PSN since Feb 8th, is going to make it to EU PSN any time soon. Everyweek I keep looking in hope!
GT Sport is great. Got it full price and I don’t regret it (already put in more hours into it than most games). As Neolit says, get it now if you were previously on the fence (beware there is no way to save offline any of the campaign progress - pointless restriction in my view).
I picked up Shadow Tactics in the sale and I have to say, I’m loving this. I was on the fence and the price drop was the impetus I needed to jump on board. I’m glad I did. Well worth consideringg for people who enjoyed earlier MGS games or (more obviously) Commandos games. The save system encourages experimental play (my fear that slight mistake would be punishing is completely unfounded as you can simply save just before trying out cool ways to take out the guards).
I've been playing it for hours this morning. I know people are miffed with lack of content at launch and online only save (inexcusable really), BUT, all I can say playing for the gold on the Nuremberg circuit on circuit challenge, with a TR300 steering wheel mounted on a playseat in front of an 55" OLED with HDR,is just simply amazing experience. For me, it beats all other racing games on PS4 when it come to pure joy of driving.
I can't give the list any respect when it does not contain Polybius. For me, in the top two - can't decide between Rez (Area X) or Polybius for top spot.
I simply can't wait. TxK is simply a classic. Polybius is utterly amazing and a unique experience with VR (it really feels like some kind of hedonistic 'out there' experience once you get in the 'zone').
@bighal just to add to my previous post. Played a few hours with PSVR. Just amazing. Not at all feeling nauseous. Game is great without VR. With VR it's simply stunning. As good as REZ VR and I never thought I would say that! Must have!
Played it just now (had it on pre-order). I love it (I am big Fan of Minter games - bought the 360 for Space Giraffe).
Once kids go to bed, will strap on PSVR headset and go on a (legal) trip.
Ignore earlier comment from me. It seems steelbook is available in pretty much most retailers.
I just pre-ordered the case only from Amazon. I want digital copy for convenience but also want physical version. This way, I have the steelbook case and I figure I will buy the physical disc when it's going cheap much later down the line.
I played Witcher 3 for about 15 hours and then got bored (to be fair I'm time limited and I had games I enjoyed more to play).
I can see how it's a good game but I just don't get the accolades it gets. The combat mechanic feels absolutely soulless compared to Bloodborne, Dark souls series and Nioh.
The best 'true' RPG on that list is P5 in my opinion. But the best game on that list is Bloodborne.
Just like to stress I'm sharing my opinion and not stating it as fact (there is no right or wrong answer I guess).
So want this. I have every iteration of Wipeout since PS1. I hope this is a success to make Sony take note and consider a 'proper' sequel. Still I am looking forward to playing this in glorious 4K (don't care if it's checkerboard) and 60FPS.
Still no info on steelbook edition. No one is stocking it yet for pre-order.

Polybius. Most overlooked VR title and one of the best in my opinion. Zero motion sickness as well

Hate it when Sony does that.

Tetris Effect. Nothing else interests me that much. Might get Spyro if and when heavily discounted.

Of course they can. Just need to add “lack” between the two words.

UMVC 3 for £13.99. Will buy now (have the PS3 version and so £19.99 was hard to swallow).

This "game" will always live in my memory as something unique and more than the some of it's parts.
Are games art? This game, more than any other, makes a good case to be an amalgamation of both.
