@MatthewJP got it. Will do it tonight. I was on last night trying to get the fortnightly gold time trial. It’s pretty difficult as some of the top players have set a ridiculous time. I’m 4/10ths off but I may have to admit defeat and settle for silver.
@MatthewJP great. And don’t be fooled by my setup. My skills don’t do it justice. I’m only B DR rating (S for SR). My PSN ID is similar to my name on this forum (so you know when you get friend request)
Loving gt7 with my setup (dd pro 8nm with v3 brakes and playseat trophy). I get that roulette stuff is rigged and crap but it really is easily ignored since that’s not why i play GT7. I play for the handling model (not the most realistic but it creates a lot of great online racing when you dont get idiots trying to ram you off). Nearly 600 hrs in and looking forward to this update.
People need to be realistic. I think given that price of making games have increased and impact of inflation £70/$70 is cheap. It might not be great for us but unfortunately we have to recognise and be willing to support the industry
FYI according to Bank Of England inflation calculator £50 in 2006 is worth £78.94 today.
As long as they can stop modders from doing anything on official severs this could really benefit and grow GT community. My main fear is the (I hope minor portion) of PC community that will mod/cheat etc and ruin it for everyone else.
I liked the world and characters etc, but the combat felt like there was no weight to it and put me off. It doesn’t hold a candle to From Software games but I’m definitely going to give it another go when PS5 update arrives (assuming it 60fps and at least 1440p with quick loading).
My personal (I must stress that) take on this is, I need it for Tempest 2000. For me that justifies the price of entry alone (but I’m going to wait for it drop in price a bit as I’m in no rush)
My game of the year is GT7. It’s simply incredible and the online racing at time is just amazing and I can’t get enough of it. So good in fact I invested over £2000 on my Fanatec sim rig and Playseat Trophy (upgraded from T300, T3PA pedals and Playseat Challenge).
I know very little chance and I’m in the minority, but as much as I loved Elden Ring (not as good as Bloodborne, Sekiro, or Demons Souls in my view) and as much as I am loving GoW Ragnarok, GT7 just keeps on giving me hours and hours of enjoyment (500+ hours and counting).
Tempest 2000 is the ONLY reason I will get this as a physical copy. Big Minter fan, I have the PS1 and Saturn versions but didn’t have Jaguar. If only they included the Neon version too. I really hoped LR or Strictly limited or similar company released TxK on Vita as a physical but with Atari creating a lawsuit or whatever on that all hope was lost. Now no way to preserve that other than to ensure it is never deleted from PS Vita memory.
Love GT7. I would actually love some more ‘real’ single player challenges time trial or circuit challenge or some more of those race challenges (Human Comedy etc). Just for those times I don’t fancy competitive online racing.
I’m tempted to get physical related just for Tempest 2000. Still gutted I can’t find a way to play Tempest Neon on console and there was no physical release of TxK.
@Richnj I think you are being a bit too literal there. It’s an analogy and it’s not bad way to explain their stance on the service.
If you care at all about games, and not just a fan boy for Xbox or PS or Nintendo, you should be worried about impact it will have. Sony and other publishers could not finance GT7, GOW, HZD, Spider-man, GTA to only give them away for to publisher like MS - who probably take most of the cut of Gamepass service anyway - for a fraction of what they would get selling at retail.
I personally like Sony’s model. I won’t subscribe to anything other than plus but I think it will do less damage overall.
Should be at least 1440p/60 or Dynamic 4K with a lower bound of 1440p. I can’t see why this needs to go lower if you see why Horizon Zero Dawn is pushing at 60 fps
@eltomo True but to act entitled is wrong. You don’t agree with price don’t buy it or wait until it gets cheaper. Sony is not forcing anyone.
Having said that, I’m personally going to wait - I may have been tempted to buy it earlier, if they added meaningful content, or redesigned the levels to be more open world but kept the structure of the story the same. I envy PS5 owners who haven’t played original and will experience this gem first hand. THAT is definitely worth it for them I would say.
GT7 is just amazing. It really deserves to be higher. Hopefully it will have long legs. I love it, from daily races, time trials (every two weeks) where getting gold nets you a lot of credits (and allows you to measure yourself against the best), to just being a great sandbox for mucking around with tuning, to of course the driving experience. This game in my 35 years of gaming is the one I played the most (already) at over 350hrs and I don’t see it drastically reducing any time soon.
I don’t believe Sony aims to stop the deal by complaining but may, just maybe it can get a concession (legally speaking) that COD cannot become MS exclusive and be offered to Sony as today.
They should have bundled Demons Souls. I would love Bluepoint to make a sequel to it. I know it’s FromSoft but they did such a good job, they clearly understand what makes this game tick
@Northern_munkey To credit Jade as the sole vision on AC is stretching it - anyway it’s the game that killed my interest in open world games. Took Spider-Man, Ghosts, Horizon to rekindle interest again. Elden Ring then showed everyone how it should be done (not played Zelda BoW but I assume that also innovated the open world genre).
Anyway, I hope she does deliver something great and I have to eat my words.
@nessisonett you really shouldn’t, online is always an echo chamber for those that shout the loudest. It’s an amazing game and I’ve pretty much had no issues with regards to credit. Some nice enjoyable ways to farm when you want to save a little plus doing single player campaign,, getting gold on license and circuit experience nets you quite a lot of cars and credits. I mainly play for the GT Sport mode. The online racing is great (like any online it does depend on fairness of drivers but if you keep it clean you will generally end up with people who keep it clean too).
Nearly 200hrs and no way near done. When I say done, I mean in terms of interest. This game will be played regularly on my dedicated sim-lite setup (in fact I bought one PS5 just to not have to bother with setting up) for years to come (assuming community stays active and updates keep coming).
@DTfeartheBEARD Hi, just in case you want to save some money (and live in UK), you can buy is at Base.com (cheaper than Limited Run when you take postage into account).
I agree (from MY point of view). I buy games I really want physical so “day one” has no attraction for me, games I’m half interested in, I can wait until they become available on ps plus or whatever a year or two down the line.
I’ve been putting off playing too much as I was hoping for a patch to fix performance mode. What little I played (about 10ths) I did in resolution mode. With PS5 gen I’m now spoilt and don’t want to go back to 30fps unless it’s apparent 60fps is unlikely to be an option or where resolution disparity is too much.
@pushsquare Please can you do an article of how to get back into Destiny 2? I played Destiny and then stopped for a number of years and I’m not sure how to begin with destiny 2. So many expansions - do I need them to play? If I don’t have them and just have vanilla game what does it mean. I’m a bit lost with it all. I’m sure others are too…
@Anke Maybe some trophy hunters but for me (and I suspect a lot of people), this is staying a permanent fixture well after the single player content (online races and the simple joy of driving the cars and improving my skills will keep me going for years as long as they keep up with events and updates - I would love another LH challenge as in GT Sport).
The options are not great. I would play them without trophy support but trophy support would make me play them more (for example getting fast times in ridge racer will give me an incentive, or completing Einhander - which has to be announced please please Sony - or Omega Boost score or whatever).
Where the hell is GT7. Done Elden Ring, almost as many hours on GT7 and I can see this game staying permanently in my games room PS5 where I have the seat and steering wheel and pedal setup. Love it. Love it.
I would like to see 40Hz mode (in 120Hz container), VRR support for Fidelity ‘minus’ mode where resolution is dropped just enough to get to VRR window compared to fidelity but not as drastic as performance mode.
Great great game. Have yet to play the new endless mode (after plantinum I moved on to other games but have the itch to return) as soon as I complete HFW (just platted Elden Ring - used save game feature to see all endings). GT7 is and will always be a constant game I play until next GT release. I really don’t feel I need other sim/sim-Cade racers.
People complaining is GT7 is sterile/boring and then complaining that you can’t complain about a Sony game here, you need to realise your opinion is not fact. Swarm of Flies was awesome but I can see why it had to be nerfed a little. Playing arcane build so rivers of blood and another katana (long one whose name escapes me) are my two dual wield weapons. Combined with swarm of flies, talisman where blood increases attack power combined with Milificent’s prostheses and the game is a lot easier (still die in late game areas but the bosses are easier especially if I use the mimic).

Lucky to have two PS5s (just so I can be lazy and not have to move my GT7 setup and my PS5s - I hear it’s hard to get PS5 - but I got them pretty easily each time I registered (once prior to launch to get one for launch and one a month back and I was offered chance to buy within a week).
I got two PS5. One of the solely for playing GT7 (all setup with seat and steering wheels etc). Sorry, but I am in my late 40s and I deserve a little luxury!
So. I surprise GT7 is on there but also one game that really surprised me how much I loved it (got plat even) is Returnal. Demons Souls was such a joy to revisit (though not got platinum as I find all this world tendency stuff to be a little convoluted).

GT7
Returnal
Demons Souls (it felt completely fresh to play again)
Spider-Man (miles morales - original is also just as good but I played it on Pro)
Elden Ring (best open world game ever - maybe not best ‘Souls’ game though).
Astro’s Playroom
Ratchet & Clank
9/10 games
Hades
Nioh (only because games is so good - graphically not that impressive)
