As Push Square's very own Sammy Barker points out in his latest Talking Point, many publishers are making announcements and teasing games before E3 has even started, and EA has just joined the party. In a recent Tweet, the third party giant has announced that BioWare's new, mysterious sci-fi project Anthem will indeed be making an appearance at its EA Play conference next week.
Admittedly, there isn't much to go on here, but there is the promise of a brand new trailer for the title. Hopefully it'll give us a clearer picture of what Anthem is shaping up to be. Click here to find out when EA's E3 2018 press conference is taking place.
Are you excited to see more of Anthem at E3 2018? Don't tease us in the comments below.

meh.when it comes to anthem,trailers mean nothing.
gameplay is what we need to see especially if they truly think this to be a different game than destiny (it isn't).
I hate the word generic, but it applies to this to an unbelievable degree.
Gah, I hate teasers! Looking forward to it, nonetheless (the Bioware fanboy part of me that's hanging by a thread).
Also...I really wish they would change the name. "Anthem" always reminds me of the song of the same name by that old boy band Good Charlotte that my littlest sister listened to looong ago. One of those things you tell yourself to stop thinking about and then now it's all you can think about LMAO...
I really hope EA learned enough of the previous backlashes and will give Bioware enough freedom to get back to its former glory with Anthem.
I fear the success of this game is going to be make or break for Bioware.
Super generic Destiny clone, incoming. Except!! You are a rusty toaster called, Urgh. You must avenge the death of your tragically murdered / recycled family. Prepare yourself for an unoriginal & uninteresting story! One that no one anywhere will remember.
Have you got the patience & time to grind out, shooting the same bland enemy with poor AI over and over for over 300 hours?? Pre-order now! And get your FREE brown costume.
Is this arguably the game at E3 this year that has to work the hardest to impress people. Just seems like there's no buzz at all for it.
@adf86
I think so. Bioware's last game was broken on arrival and a shadow of its former self. Plus EA's recent focus on games as a service and loot boxes has likely undermined any expectations here. My expectations are low but it's definitely possible they might surprise us.
It's going to flop big time the gameplay or so called gameplay they showed in that first trialer was so fake like Ubisoft and most if its games. I mean the name rest doesn't do it justice it feels like it should be called something else, it's definitely EAs answer to a Destiny style game and I'll be suprised if it sells well.
"Something is out there."
You turn to your squadmate, his armour still pockmarked with damage from your last battle. He's looking through the gorgeously-rendered dense undergrowth at a small, misty clearing. Following his gaze, you see nothing, before remembering that he must be using the sensor upgrade he got as part of the Collector's Edition pre-order DLC. You've been working on unlocking yours for weeks via gameplay and you're still only halfway there. Shrugging, and deciding against replying because the lack of dedicated servers makes your headset lag frustrating at best, you take point.
As you approach, the mist clears and you find a small, attractive-looking box. As you step closer, you notice a keyhole on the front. There's a small engraving. You kneel down and brush aside some of the dirt to read it aloud to your squadmates.
"Unlocks with 500 Crystals or a Master Key - Limited Time Offer: £5.99 for a Bundle of Three!"
Fingers crossed EA won't plaster micro-transactions and pay to win loot boxes in the game.
This game has to be a hit otherwise i doubt we'll see another Dragon Age or Mass Effect. Bioware messed themselves over with Andromeda. Need to know more on this before i consider it.
@Luna-Harmony unfortunately we know it's going to be full of them, this is EA after all
I'm playing Andromeda at the mo and the combat is the best thing about it. If it's similar in Anthem then I'll be a tiny bit more interested.
I didn't know Bioware is working on Destiny 3!
I feel for Bioware. These guys has been run down by EA and I feel that this is their last chance before going the way of Visceral. Unfortunately this fell of the hype train with the loot box controversy EA was pulling at the time and is bound to be riddled with transactions.
This game needs all the exposure it can get. It looks unbelievably dull and derivative.
@stevenfins Agreed. If this tanks it could very well be the end of BioWare.
this is the type of game that will sell well in the first week but will drop in sales immensely in the weeks after that untill it will become a flop.
I'm just hoping it is like Destiny but just not Destiny.
I'm afraid it will be full of some SJW things and characters like BioWare's recent stuff and it puts me off. Let us just have a normal game without any social commentary or anything, I just want to play the game and have fun.
@TribalRivals Please watch the language.
destiny called, it would like the Lords of Iron back..
I have zero interest in this.
...however, I can’t forget that during a trip to a local game shop as I was browsing I inadvertently eavesdropped on two dudes talking about Anthem in the most excited and anticipatory of tones. They were carrying on about how awesome it was going to be. I rolled my eyes and silently sighed in relief that I am part of the “bubble” that doesn’t get caught up in large service game hype.
I wonder why so many people are hoping that this will be the game to replace Destiny? Nobody plays Destiny anymore? So if it does 'replace' it, it can look forward to 250k players max.
