Furthermore, Sony has also revealed the lineup of PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium games heading to the service next month. You can view them all below, playable from 20th September, 2022.

- Assassin's Creed Origins (PS4)
- Watch Dogs 2 (PS4)
- Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (PS4)
- Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition (PS4)
- Chicory: A Colorful Tale (PS4)

- Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition (PS4)
PS Plus Premium: September 2022

- The Sly Collection (PS3)
- Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (PS3)
- Bentley's Hackpack (PS3)
- Toy Story 3 (PSP)
- Kingdom of Paradise (PSP)
There's a lot to get through here, so we'll pick out some of the highlights. Deathloop is arguably the biggest addition. It's a game we described as a "confident" shooter in our Deathloop PS5 review, and we subsequently slapped an 8/10 on it. "Few games have the confidence and swagger of Deathloop," we wrote. "Packed full of charisma and wit, it's a game that can be played your way, with your own style and cunning."
Chicory: A Colorful Tale is also worthy of your attention. In our 9/10 review, we wrote: "An indie adventure with the confidence of heavy hitters like Undertale, Chicory: A Colorful Tale is one hell of a pleasant surprise that excels on every level it is possible to do so. Would it be too hackneyed to say it belongs in an art gallery?"
And while there's a strong chance you may have already played it courtesy of its many re-releases, our 9/10 Rayman Legends PS4 review was glowing: "Unless Nintendo decides to release a Mario or Donkey Kong title on the PS4, it’s going to take something special to unsettle Rayman Legends’ current command of the console’s platforming crown."
Original article: French deals forum Dealabs has, as usual, leaked the lineup of PS5, PS4 games heading to PS Plus Essential in early September. The official announcement out of Sony is scheduled to take place later today, but here is what you should expect ahead of time:
- Toem (PS5)
- Need for Speed Heat (PS4)
- Granblue Fantasy Versus (PS4)
All three titles will join the list of All PS Plus Games on Tuesday, 6th September 2022. We'll update this article once Sony makes the official reveal.
Toem is a PS5 puzzle adventure game all about taking pictures. While it may be a bit too short, we complimented its satisfying photography gameplay and fun puzzle design in our Toem PS5 review. "It's a very simple game that you can easily wrap up over a weekend, but it's a satisfying, imaginative, and endlessly pleasant adventure while it lasts."
Meanwhile, we considered Need for Speed Heat to be the "best NFS for years" when it launched back in 2019, but that accolade still only warranted it a 7/10. Our Need for Speed Heat PS4 review explains: "The day vs. night gameplay is a compelling loop, and it's a big step in the right direction for the series in general. It's a solid effort with fun handling and lots of customisation options. It's a shame the open world lacks personality, and the police are perhaps a little too hardball, but there's still plenty to like."
Finally, Granblue Fantasy Versus is a "superbly crafted fighter" for the anime crowd. Awarded an 8/10, we praised its gameplay, visuals, character roster, and accessibility. "This is a tight, satisfying fighter that gives way to some superbly paced matches, and the dedicated RPG Mode provides additional longevity if you primarily play alone," we said in our Granblue Fantasy Versus PS4 review.

Another great month... one month after the other, it gets better and better.. Go go Playstation plus.
I'd not heard of Toem but it actually looks interesting. That's the kind of game I'd probably never buy but wouldn't mind trying. Which is exactly what PS Plus needs more of really.
Not usually games I’d buy…but I guess that’s the point. Not as good as last months. Looking forward to see what’s put in extra.
Ah, back to form PlayStation 😬
Not too bothered about these essential games myself. But you never know. (Apparently Toem is good)
I'll be playing either my copy of Horizon Forbidden West, or Guardians of the Galaxy/Miles Morales on PS Plus Extra when I actually decide what to play first. Wrapping up BugSnax first, another PS Plus Extra offering
Hint: get Extra if you want games, get essential if you love online gaming and don't expect anything too big, and just don't buy Premium ever, or for at least a year 😁
I see the article has been edited to include Extra. Making it look an even better value deal. Deathloop isn't a game I'd buy, but I'll probably take a look at it as it was a fairly big release. It was certainly advertised enough! And it's not that old either!
Bit of a 'fall from grace' after the amazing selection last month, but I appreciate not every month can be 5*... will keep an open mind
Granblue is a very accessible fighting game with a nice anime presentation, much recommended to people looking to check out the genre without much previous experience (although unfortunately its netplay isn't fantastic)
Not really my type of games, but it's fine. We can't win every month like last month. At least i can add a racer and fighting game if i ever feel like playing or trying one.
Not like this man..
Another fantastic month for me. Now if I could actually find the time to play these games, that'd be great.
Delighted with NfS Heat... Never heard of Toem, but sure even 1 good game a month makes me happy.
Solid month for me, haven't played that NFS yet and been meaning to get into the granblue universe so versus is perfect, help me better understand the world before relink comes out next year
Will download NFS and TOEM and add them to my backlog. No real interest in playing the 3rd one. Roll on extra, hopefully things improve. Maybe we'll be treated to a game on premium as well. They can't go 2 months back to back without adding anything. Can they?
wow what a great selection of games I am so excited once again Sony have done a great job. Oh Wait I've changed my mind. what a lame selection of games. like seriously need for speed heat already own it and other two games are boring
I haven't played any of these games, so it's a thumbs up from me by default. I think one of the games at Evo was Granblue, but don't quote me on that. If so, it makes sense that they would give it a push.
Not bad if true (which is almost definitely is), Toem peaks my interest and I'll give that one a go, the other 2 will be add to library.
3 games I don't have!
Toem looks to be the most interesting to me.
@BeerIsAwesome GBVS was indeed one of the main games at EVO and it's getting an official online league soon. The only problem with it is that the online isn't that good (compared to Guilty Gear, KOF, Melty Blood etc)
Of the 3, I should be most interested in NFS… but dang has the franchise sucked for decades. I’m thinking totem sounds the best. Hopefully we get at least another good premium and or classic title as well for the upper tiers, but honestly, my backlog is so long I’m not playing anything new from ps plus this year
Always wanted to try Toem since I saw trailers of it. Looks like a charming game that reminds me of Tearaway with the camera functionality.
Granblue Fantasy Versus looks like a great fighting game as well. Solid month once again.
Theres Only 3 games?
Toem is delightful! Highly recommend playing through it if this is true, which it almost definitely is.
Dire. So what am I paying for exactly. Some games I can pick up in bargain bucket. Ffs
Guess I might try Need for Speed. Other two, probably not for me, but any month that has at least one 'maybe' for me is a good month.
Toem looks sweet!
Toem is really great, highl recommend it
@Snake_V5 Basic PS+ always has 3 Games
Yay! Toem looks great!
Another great month!
Personally a great month for me...Toem and Granblue...may try NFS as well...
Liked the look of toem, shame it's ps5 only
Well its not a good month for me..already own nfs heat and zero interest in the others..
Actually a really good month. Heard many great things about Toem so will be nice to finally 0lay it. And I love a good anime fighter. Been a while since I played a NFS so will probably give that a go too
Absolute joke. Only paying for multiplayer now and to keep some decent games on ps plus until I find them to buy cheaper. This service is a complete farce
@IonMagi We had 12 games this month.
Nothing for me. Possibly would have been Nash, but recently purchased GT7. Plenty others I have to get to as well.
@Snake_V5 This is about PS+ Essential tho, not Premium/Extra
Where's the PS extra games as per headline?
I will probably just download Need for speed Heat cause i don't have a racer installed atm.
not into fighting games really, and i don't have a ps5.
but yea i'm not complaining, you can't get 2 games that suit your own personal taste every single month.
@Dan_ozzzy189 The headline that only mentions PS Plus Essential, you mean? Extra and Premium games are in the middle of the month.
Toem rules. Don't sleep on it.
@Ravix The only games that I’m hoping to see on premium at some point I already purchased back on PS3 so I’m not even worried about getting Premium tbh given the fact Sony has mentioned if we previously purchased the games they release on Premium we can download them without the sub so realistically Extra is the best of the three tiers imo, especially given a fair number of the PS1 titles are available for purchase separately from the subscription.
they put blandblue over blazblue , really ? and i already have heat , thought it would be my midnight club fix and……it kinda works . the game is still mediocre though .
@Voltan I'll keep that in mind, though I've little basis for comparison since the only fighting game I've played with any real thoroughness is Injustice. But that game is partially built around it's esports.
@Styledvinny79 yea it’s a scam alright especially now with these new tiers they got . paid online gaming should’ve been free and outdated years ago .
@Voltan do you think grand blue comes close to blazblue ?
Glad to get Toem. Will probably have a blast on Nfs Heat. Not a bad month overall.
Okay, I retract my comment somewhat. It seems there is a lot of love for Toem! I will claim it and add to my Extra indies pile. But it might be a bit down on the list that includes:
Human Fall Flat
I Am Dead (PS5)
Stray 🐱 ✓✓✓✓✓
@nomither6 It's definitely simpler and slower than Blazblue and has its own unique mechanics. Some call it the anime Street Fighter, which makes sense to me (at least from what I've seen - as I don't really play either)
That's a very good month.
I've had an itch to play a silly car game for a while so NFS will definitely get a download from me.
@Snake_V5 it was Little Nightmares, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 and Yakuza: Like a Dragon this month.
Nice group. I'll definitely check Toem out.
GranBlue is a really fun fighter. Hopefully this will refill the lobbies for a bit.
Just got a PS5 a couple weeks ago and was waiting for Toem to go on sale so I’ll be downloading asap
Eh, decent enough. I probably won’t play any of these, but they all fit comfortably into the category of “maybe one day I’ll try it if I get in a certain mood.”
Very nice and colorful selection.
Nothing for me personally but hardly a poor selection. I'm quite busy with Yakuza; Like a Dragon at the moment so I'm still very much getting my money's worth.
Removed - foreign languages; user is banned
Glad I was wrong when I cancelled my ps plus and thought that they would start putting out good games since I canceled. These games are horrible. Glad im not missing anything
I'll take NFS Heat but dunno when I'm able to find the time for it cause never really consider it a must play. Do like the fact we now have more plus game announcements per month to look forward to. Instead of trying to defeat backlog it's just better to accept backlog will always exist
Removed - flaming/arguing; user is banned
Good mix of games.
I’ll try Toem. NFS Heat was a pretty weak entry in the series. Played it quite a while ago on EA Play/GamePass and dropped it pretty quickly.
You’re only feeding review complaints when you post something like this:
“…but that accolade still only warranted it a 7/10.”
Toem is the winner here for me. Hope Sony continues to add atleast one quality indie game a month like this.
I'll definitely be picking up TOEM and Granblue. Nice!
@SerJosh97 I'm paying for the games. Playing online can suck an egg. $1.67 (actually $0.83 since I bought on discount) for a random game is a pretty good deal, even when some aren't that great.
@lacerz What are you talking about?
To each their own, but for me this is WEAK. But, admittedly I’m also hard to please when it comes to the PSN free games so, go figure…..
Granblue's RPG mode has me intrigued. Apparently if you want the plat though, you either need to downgrade to the 1.0 version or buy all the DLC.
Some people eh. Shouldn't be let out, let alone have free speech on a key board.
Conversations about review scores pop up in the comments quite often, with anything less than an 8 considered…subpar. There’s even an article on it…
@lacerz I still don't see what point you're trying to make whatsoever.
@LowTech I hope this is sarcasm!
That's a LOT of games.
boo, i picked deathloop up yesterday
I already own Deathloop but hope as many people play it as possible! It’s an absolute banger of a game despite the annoying marketing being everywhere. Really excited to play Scott Pilgrim, Chicory and Toem as well. Glad to see some retro offerings although they’re dogsh*t or have already been included before and seemingly are being reintroduced like Sly Cooper.
Holy moley what a ninth! Deathloop is a great game to give out
I haven't seen the list yet, but I'm going to assume the Premium guys got screwed over again.
Wow that’s really surprising seeing Deathloop is coming to extra…I wonder how long that will stay on for…I kinda figured the exclusivity had ran out by now and expected it to hit gamepass soon
Deathloop is genuinely great - I really hope they promote its addition to extra in a sizzle reel in the rumoured showcase
@beerisawesome maybe uh read article before commenting
Still disappointed in premium since the Sly Collection was already on PSNOW for years and was only taken off because of the new revamped service but god damn am I stoked on the Extra additions and Toem on essential.
Good month. I was on the verge of buying Deathloop but now I won't have to.
PS Plus Extra is absolutely killing it. Can't ignore it any longer, I'm signing up tonight. I just hope these games hang around and don't start getting cycled out before I've had a chance to play them all.
@LiamCroft just random non-sequiturs. Like how creamy peanut butter on cold pepperoni pizza is pretty good.
Extra is another strong month particularly the inclusion of Deathloop (wasn't expecting that given Microsoft owns Bethesda), Premium is decent though with no additions in August you'd have thought there'd be more native games added this month, Essential is kind of meh.
Wow, what a line up, definitely much better than last month, unless you like yakuza lol
So playstation get Deathloop on their subscription service before xbox (the owners) get it on gamepass, ouch.
Us: Sony give us first party PSP titles like Pursuit Force, Daxter and Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
Sony: Here's Toy Story 3
Still got my PS3 console to play my copy of the Sly Collection and Thieves in Time, ah well.
I'm all about Need For Speed Heat, but Toem is not looking very exciting. Also, I'm not really into fighters, so it's an okay month I guess.
However, I honestly think the free PS5 game needs to be something more AAA, than Toem. There are plenty of PS5 games by now that Sony can afford to put out a better game than what they gave us.
Another good month for extra and premium. So many games, hope they're available for a while. Need time to play them. Have a PS3 with the Sly games. Prefer that to streaming.
Not bad at all
@stvevan Exactly! It's like people on YouTube who go straight to the comments and ask what was in the video, without actually watching it. Lol
Why don't they ever release PS2 games as part of these classic games? I'm actually shocked there releasing some PS3 games.
Another month that extra shames GP, at least in my book. It's going to be interesting to see if general opinion is going to swing toward realistically beefier PS service or not (although it's often more important to be first than it is to be better).
Ngl, Plus Premium tier is mega trash so far. I'm not feeling that much premium at all tbh, feels like I got scammed lmao
Not a bad month at all for additions.
Presumably Deathloop going to PS Extra/Premium means it's not launching on Xbox September.
@stvevan Hehehe. I am part sarcasm, part facetiousness when it comes to these kinds of articles. I seem to be the only person on PushSquare who actually uses the streaming part of the service, so everything comes to Premium regardless, and that's enough for me.
If you think that what they offer on the highest tier is bad/lackluster... Well it's even worse for those of us who live in countries where streaming PS3 games is not available.
I should just have gone with the middle tier which does have a lot of games I do not own and hadn't played so I definitely got my money's worth there unlike the "Premium" tier.
I urge everyone to play the Sly Cooper games, man they were great!
Oooh pretty good PS Plus Extra and Premium lists too! Some games there that I was meaning to play at some point!
I see that Ubisoft still hasn't patched Assassin's Creed Syndicate....
@PhhhCough wtf is wrong with you? 🤢
Extra has some great stuff again this month. I slept on chickory and im very happy Ill get to play it now.
Glad to see a few more classics, though id hope for 20 a month untill theres a decent library..
The PSP version of Toy Story 3 is especially odd to me?? PS3 version is great fun and one of the most solid movie tie-ins of that generation, I’ve just never heard very good things about the portable counterparts…
Fantastic month again, the extra tier in particular has been killing it since launch.
Wonder if more stuff will be announced at the showcase? Adding sly might be hinting at a new sly game
Unfortunately not. Sucker Punch said they are not making a Sly Cooper game and no one else is.
My last PS Plus month and not intending to renew, I'll probably try the puzzle game out though
Holy crap! They actually did remove PS3 games from Now with the intent to just re-add them as part of Premium.
Also, Ubisoft continues to show you're a fool to buy any of their games. Eventually all their stuff is gonna land onto Ubisoft+ Classics.
Finally! They started pumping out the classic games!
Give me Resistance now!
Loving extra, added stray , death stranding, ghost of tshima, returnal and observer on my ps5 and prey, RType and Caladrius blaze on my 4.
Now to see what to play next. Stray was awesome but I won't be going back to rinse trophies, I got what I got.
Toem looks my bag. Annoyed as bought AC Origins a while back on sale but never played it (silly me) but I feel better as I’ve been very close to buying Deathloop on a number of occasions and not done so. This update is therefore pretty robust in my view.
Another good month for Extra. Glad I just extended my sub by 3 months.
Spiritfarer is a gem of a game hopefully means a lot more people will give it a go
Can PushSquare create a thread where we can point out the awesome games for PSP, PS3, PS2, and PS1 that we really think should be added to PS+?
I hereby nominate…
DeathSpank 1, 2, 3
Was wondering why Sly had disappeared from the old PS Now collection after the update
@TheCollector316 You never know they could just be saying that, just to try and keep it a surprise.
Nothing for me..Deathloop is a good game (obv) but already completed it
NFS and Deathloop are good additions and along with Extra and Premium there are lots of games for me to play now on my PRO. However in the next 6-12 months how many and of what quality of PS2 and PS3 games will be added?
Then there is streaming. Will there ever be an option to download any game? Also why no screen shots or video capture of games being streamed? Is it because it is considered an app and apps are blocked from screen capture? If so is it impossible to unblock an app individually?
Nice ill take it 🤟 liking the premium starting to get going with classics.
Deathloop will be nice to try aswell.
So sad the Sly Collection (PS3) is only in streaming .
Over here we have PS Deluxe, not PS Premium, and that means not streaming for us.
Ps plus extra is starting to look like it’s worth every penny!
so that is just ONE ps1 classic in the last 3 months then? how many years will it take sony to reach the ps1 classics library of the vita and ps3?
Bit of a poor line up
I massively do not recommend Alex Kidd
The inclusion of death loop is really nice. It’s a really fun game. Good month
Readding PS3 games that were already on ps now & acting like their new additions lol where are all the good classics
Another month that I'm glad I'm not subbed to Premium. Maybe in a year there'll be a decent vintage library there to warrant it.
Halfway decent group for Premium this time, but given that it got completely ignored last month, it's hard to praise it too much as it's been a really rocky road for that tier ever since the new PS Plus launched.
As for the Essential and Extra, pretty solid group. Obviously it's not as good of a group of games as the last two months for Extra, it is a solid group still. I own most of what I would want to play out of that though. I'll try one or two of the Essential games. When the lowest scored game is a 7/10, I can't complain too much.
@PenguinLtd it might be - but to me, a game that you can play on switch or even base psp isn’t a ‘PS5’ game worth my time sorry. 2022 and 2 years after launch we get this? This could have been one of the PS4 games.
PS extra getting Deathloop….. hmmmmm
Strange that deathloop would be added when it's supposed to be releasing on Xbox really soon you'd think Microsoft would want to have only on gamepass & not other subscriptions
Ah, gran blue fantasy vs. If the video game is like the vhs I used to watch, it’s gonna be a wild ride 😜
@Porco A While Because unlike on the ps3 and vita which the games were straight ports with no enhancements it was simply a matter of licensing now on top of licensing they now have to take the time to add new features to the games which takes longer then people think cue the slow rollout.
Strange Microsoft have let Deathloop come to the service?
As it'll be on game pass this year for sure.
@Milktastrophe you can buy what you want. But specifically ps plus. You buy plus to play online. Period it literally says it in the description of it. So no you don't buy plus for the free games lmao. If you think you do I can't help you. The free games are a bonus that Sony can't stop at any time they want. They don't have to give them to you. So no your not paying for the free games
@Milktastrophe I'd like to see that. No game has ever required dlc for plat. Those are separate trophy lists. So I'd like to see it myself. The downgrade to a different version yes but not dlc trophies
@BamBamBaklava89 I'm not I never finished them. Could care less it was on ps now before. Now that' its back great! ***** yes! Yall are Negative Nancy's
@BeerIsAwesome nope had premium the whole time myself too. I get the best of all the world's unlike everyone else who complains and whines. So im with ya! It's great to me and my fiance, fack the haters!
@Milktastrophe maybe ppl like to own there games. Your the fool for telling ppl how to use there own money they work for. God I don't like you. Gamers like you can just ugh. I'm not agasint subs just saying plenty of ppl like to own there ***** so
Beyond underwhelming for Essential subscribers on PS4 — just a racing game and a fighting game.
Yikes - I will play Gran Blue prob, but for people above the Essential tier this is a crap month. Deathloop? seriously... that game blows.
PS Plus Extra lineup is great as usual.
Holy crap Deathloop to Extra is awesome! Definitely giving that one a go and was not expecting it to be on PS+ already. I was actually planning to buy it eventually.
Heard really good things about Chicory as well.
Great rebound effort on the Premium tier as well after having nothing last month. Hopefully Syphon Filter 2 has trophy support like the first one did.
This thread is going to be confusing, given that it changed from September PS Plus Leaks to ALL Tiers revealed.
Great selection of games in September imo! I'll be happily claiming the following list.
Need for Speed Heat (PS4)
Granblue Fantasy Versus (PS4)
Watch Dogs 2 (PS4)
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (PS4)
Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition (PS4)
Chicory: A Colorful Tale (PS4)
Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX (PS5)
Syphon Filter 2 (PS1)
The Sly Collection (PS3)
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (PS3)
Bentley's Hackpack (PS3)
Toy Story 3 (PSP)
Toem was an absolute delight to play. Simple gameplay but with some tricky parts thrown in too. A really nice mellow vibe and some good humour.
@SerJosh97 I already said it, so I guess I'll say it again. I get PS+ for the monthly games, not for playing online. If they stop giving out the games then I'll stop subscribing. So yeah, the games are what I'm paying for. I don't need online to play my single player games.
Really pleased with these, never played any Sly Cooper games but I hear good things, Dragon Ball and Scott Pilgrim have always been on my radar as ones to try too!
Most excited for chicory, sly cooper, and totem. Really good month and dang my backlog is growing
@SerJosh97 War Theatre Blood of Winter originally required DLC for the plat (for one of the game modes), but was later patched. まもるクンは呪われてしまった！ ～冥界活劇ワイド版～, Eye of Judgment, and The Hungry Horde all require DLC for some of the base game trophies. With Hungry Horde you can downgrade to the 1.0 version not to require the DLC anymore though. So it does happen, and it isn't always fixed.
I would really love to play Rayman 3 and GTA IV again. Hope they come to the service soon 😁
@Futureshark abandon all hope on heat, it's got a horible mp, will only download the tome game this month, it's not too demanding and straight forward to play, a nice break after playing a demanding RPG 😯
Am i a fanboy for saying playstation is killing it on these ps+ last few months..and I don't even complain before extra and essential came to town but it's crazy what content we getting with this now
This is cool! Please people be grateful that you are getting something and be open-minded and give these games a proper chance. What do you got to lose?
@SerJosh97 so it's ok for people to say the best value for MS games is getting them on subscription but you're not allowed to say the same thing about Ubisoft games?
Besides, arguably the best way to own a game is on disc, yet one of the top reasons for that is so you can sell it. 10% of people never finish a game, even less will replay it, making ownership pointless. It really seems like ownership is not very important to the average gamer.
Deathloop is awesome
Do you get different games when you have "deluxe"?
Which version of GranBlue is it? If it's the base day one version with like 12 characters, then lol 😆.
If it's the one with all the dlc characters, than it's a pretty good deal. Granblue has a single player experience, something not in many fighting games and has a great presentation.
All in all, it basically plays like street fighter , but with an anime fantasy medieval design. It has directional inputs, so it's easy for people who can't do motion inputs to play.
Why just the PS4 version of watch dogs? They have done that with Mortal Kombat too - I don’t get it
I’m probably one of a very few that don’t get all this backward old games stuff.
Guess I’m from an era when you had a console played the games you wanted on it and when the next generation arrived you had new games for that new console, end of and everything moved forward very well and also no cross generation as well.
How my old gaming days have changed.
For me being honest for the worse, I preferred new console new games for that console so it took advantage of the new power a lot quicker.
Also all resource and energy spent on new games none of this back wards compatibility taking resources.
I know I’m in the minority and just old 😂😂😂

@Milktastrophe I think buying a game just to resell it is stupid. I own over 600 games myself and not reselling them. Also I never said ms is great either. I think gamepass will ruin the industry sooner or later.. when everyone can get free games without paying quality will drop.
@Nexozi Oh, they can lol
@PlayStationGamer3919 I was being ironic. and you sir, are 100% correct, in my opinion.
