Re: You Could Have Been Playing Destiny 2 Later This Month

WARDIE

@PMasterTy9 Im sorry but you're wrong. Destiny could easily have an offline mode to allow players to playthrough the campaign by themselves. The reason for this is that Destiny isn't an MMO in the same way as WoW or ESO. If anything, Destiny sits somewhere inbetween Borderlands and a more simple MMO. It isn't an open world game like most MMO's, its just hub area's which would have been simple to work into a single player offline mode. I played through it by myself in just a few hours.
Trouble is, Destiny had a complete rubbish campaign/story and most people would have traded it in once they'd finished it.

Re: When's the Inevitable PS4 Slim Coming Out, Sony?

WARDIE

I think its ridiculous to even speculate about if or when we will see the PS4 slim at this stage. The PS4 is already slim, aspecialty when compared to the XB1, or even the PS3 for that matter.

The PS4 architecture ie APU etc are based on on tablet and laptop technology which is pretty damn small already.
The bulk of the PS4 is the PSU, internal fans and BRDD.

I for one love the look of the PS4, as not only is it slim and sleek already, it actually looks next gen.

The only thing I would like to see sorted/fixed is the fan. I've noticed on several games that the PS4 can get pretty loud. If they can bring down the temperature of the APU that should sort out the fan issues.

Other than that, its perfect! Unless they can find a way to detract the dust instead of it being a dust magnet, but thats just wishful thinking

Re: PS4 Surpasses Yet Another Sales Milestone

WARDIE

Since when did this site become political?

I play games and use sites like this for entertainment and escape the crap going on in the EU and rest of world politics/relations.

Don't mean to be all grumpy about your subject matter but, every morning on the news we get are daily fix or regional and world issues.

Re: Round Up: Mad Max PS4 Reviews Hit the Highway

WARDIE

@kyleforrester87 I agree with what you're saying but, IGN scores to most others are night and day. IGN are known for there unrealistic and untrustworthy reviews. Yeah they're regular people but people that are meant to have plenty of experience in reviewing. IGN have also stated in the past that they take a none biased opinion into the reviewing process.

I think I will wait for Push Square's review and then take the average between them all.

Re: Round Up: Mad Max PS4 Reviews Hit the Highway

WARDIE

@kyleforrester87 Well don't you think the review should be done by none biased reviewers otherwise its not really an honest review that should reflect what the average gamer would think.

Im sure I have played games that I thought were really good, but I wouldn't slap a high score on it without getting a none biased opinion. Hence IGN's reviews are total crap.

Just about every other review gave it a low score.

Re: Round Up: Mad Max PS4 Reviews Hit the Highway

WARDIE

IGN does it again! They gave is an 8.6 which should suggest that Mad Max is a really good game and worth your £55/$60. It makes me wonder if they either know the difference between a good game and a not so good game. Either that or they get paid to give it a good score.

Polygon gave it a 5/10 and Gamespot gave it a 6/10.

I don't understand why people still listen/believe there obviously fake and bought off reviews. iGN you suck!!!

Re: First Impressions: Is Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain on PS4 the Best Entry Yet?

WARDIE

There are far too many top games due out so close together and I just hope it doesn't hurt sales to much.
I have a feeling that some of those games that don't get picked up on release will be bought pre owned which is a shame as only the stores will see that money and the devs won't see a penny.
Trouble is games these days games cost a ridiculous amout of money to make and the pre owned market may seriously effect the profits which will also effect future games being made by the developers that lose out to said markets.

Every other week studios are closing there doors because of the ever rising costs involved in making games. Maybe this is one of the resons of the rise of indies and remasters.

Re: Sony: We Cannot Entertain People Without Trying New Ideas

WARDIE

While I am really looking forward to Project Morpheus I do have some concerns. Im not too worried about the price and I 100% have faith in the technology but, my worry is that the PS4 isn't as powerful as it should be for the ultimate VR experience.
You need a solid frame rate and resolution, amongst other things and the PS4 has already been struggling in that department already.

I think that if VR does well in general we may see the PS5 within the next 3-4 years max. Thats when we wil see the true potential of VR on a home console.
PC on the other hand should have some truly mind blowing experience's given that tech wise they have the power to deliver amazing looking realistic worlds at a much higher refresh rate and much lower latency.

Don't get me wrong though, I have alot a faith in Project Morpheus and I will be first in line to purchase one come next year.
I just hope Sony don't price it too high otherwise they may struggle to sell enough to encourage developers to create games for it.

Re: PGA Tour PS4's Price Putt Down in EU PlayStation Store Sale

WARDIE

@Matroska I don't agree. Digital games should be cheaper for a number of reason, the main one being that both Sony and publishers save loads of money by selling a game on the PSN store or any other digital outlet. They don't have the cost of printing disks, packaging and shelf space. There is also the cost of shipping retail games to the stores too which costs publishers money. All those costs are paid by us, the consumer. So, if the publishers and Sony are making a massive saving through digital distribution shouldn't we get to see some of those savings too.

Don't forget that they should be incouraging us, the consumer to buy digital as not only do they save money from what I said above but, they lose even more money when we purchase our games pre owned. Infact, they don't see a penny from the pre owned market which can be in the hundreds of millions of pounds. I think most of us purchase a game pre owned from time to time.

I do agree that there are plenty of benefits to digital games as you stated but until they reduce the price its gonna be hard to convince people to choose digital over retail. Putting the price up, even by a small amount would be crazy.

Re: Feature: Meet the Man with 40,000 PlayStation Trophies

WARDIE

Trophies have never really interested me that much. I have one platinum and my trophy count is around 1200 I think. My Xbox Gamerscore is around 38000.
I see the point in having them if you're into trophies as it gives you a reason to keep playing once you've finished a game.
Myself, im happy just to finish a game as I have 100's and not enough time to play and finish them all. Why, because there's always another top game due out I just have to own

Re: Feature: What Are September 2015's Free PlayStation Plus Games?

WARDIE

People keep complaining about PS+ but I feel like im definitely getting my moneys worth.
I have the PS3, PS Vita and a PS4 so im getting a good amount of games throughout the year. Yeah I may not like every months selection but, out of all the games we get across all three systems I always find plenty to justify the subscription.

Re: From Resident Evil Zero to Hero in New PS4 Gameplay

WARDIE

Personally I didn't like this when I had it for the Gamecube but, if the price is right I may consider a purchase.
Though to be honest, I try not to purchase digital only games through PSN these days as chances are it will be free at some point through PlayStation Plus. I've had a good amount of games become part of the Instant Game Collection, so I tend to wait a good while first.

It'd be nice to see it on the Vita too.

Re: Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition's PS4 Gameplay Trailer Tells You Everything You Need to Know

WARDIE

They had me right up to the point where they said "Turn based combat" and thats where my excitement dropped like an XB1 from a second story window.

At first I thought I may have a new and better Diablo 3 on its way, as it looks very similar. The only games I like that use turn based combat is strategy games like Sid Meiers Civilization and X-COM. I've never like turn based combat in my RPG's. Its the main reason I could never get into the Final Fantasy series.

I wish we still got demos like we did last gen, as we got loads back then. Atleast that way I could find out if this game is for me.

Does look good though

Re: PS4 Exclusive DriveClub Gearing Up for a Big Year

WARDIE

Been asking for private lobbys since day one. Private lobbys should be there as standard. Great game though.

Maybe the critics should re review it now its been fixed and had more support that could put even The Witcher 3 to shame.

Have Push Square re reviewed DriveClub since it was fixed? If not, why?

Re: The Witcher 3 Developer Wishes Free DLC Was The Industry Standard

WARDIE

Unfortunately it if anything it will convince certain publishers/Deveolpers to cut stuff from the game and give it to us later as free dlc. Just to gain favour and free press.

If he believes that free dlc should be the industry standard, does that mean CD Projekt Red will be giving us The Witcher 3 season pass for free? Lol.

In all seriousness though, CD Projekt Red have proven that not all devs/pubs are greedy. They've given The Witcher 3 a tonne of support and free dlc aswell as listen to there fans. If there was an issue with The Witcher 3 CD Projekt Red would have it patched in no time.

Kudos to CD Projekt Red for setting the bar, and setting it high.

Re: Fallout 4 Definitely Has a Chance of Outselling the Mighty Skyrim, According to Bethesda

WARDIE

@Matroska It will be selling for the next few years easily so in the end I believe Fallout 4 will sell the most.
I do agree with your comment though. It may just take a little while longer to outsell Skyrim due to the amount of systems in peoples homes. Probably going to be a good few million console sales this Christmas due to the amount of current gen only games.

I myself would buy a PS4/XB1 for Fallout 4 alone

Re: PS Vita Prototype Looked a Lot Like the PSPgo

WARDIE

I've had three Vita's. First one I traded for lack of games and I rarely used it. Second Vita I traded for a 3DS but, other than Mario, Zelda and Metroid their was even less that interested me in the games department. Also I thought the 3DS was very uncomfortable as I don't have small hands.

I recently picked up my third a final Vita. I decided to give it one last try (Third time lucky) because of PlayStation Now and to take full advantage of PlayStation Plus, since I also have a PS3 & PS4.
Alot of people complain about the free games selection we get each month through PlayStation Plus but, if you have a PS Vita, PS3 and a PS4 you get "REALLY GOOD VALUE" for your money.

My only issue with the Vita is the price of the proprietary memory cards, which infact is my issue with Sony not the Vita. Sony could easily reduce the price of the 64gb memory cards by a good amount and not just a few quid.
Also, if Sony packaged the Vita with the PS4 and Uncharted Golden Abyss this Fall im sure thats all the marketing it would take.

Games like Uncharted and Killzone Mercenarys really show what the Vita is capable of and the Mobile/Cell phone is no substitute.
I have a Duke Nukem 3D on both my Vita and iPhone and to be honest, the iPhone version plays like crap. Graphics are fine on both as its an old game but, touch screen controls for the iPhone and then dual analog sticks, face and shoulder buttons for the Vita aswell as front and back touch controls, well, its night and day and the Vita wins hands down.

Even a few years after the Vita's launch and it still looks great. I actually went with the Vita slim this time for the extended battery life.
A decision I do not regret in the slightest.

I believe that with Sony's new service, PlayStation Now, plus remote play, cheaper memory cards, Sony could actually turn things around. Its still selling, granted at a few thousand a week but, if Sony do reduce the price of the memory cards and PlayStation Now is a success word of mouth will help spread the word. I have fallen back in love with my Vita and so could so many others.
It doesn't need a GPU/CPU or Memory boost as its good enough and completely smashes the New 3DS spec wise. So the only real expense to Sony is, the memory card price reduction and maybe either a small but to the point add campaign or to have a Vita and PS4 bundle package ready for this Christmas. All they would have to say is, play Black Ops 3 or Fallout 4 on your Vita whilst someone else uses the TV.

I think that the Vita deserves one more final big push, what about you?

Re: Play Call of Duty: Black Ops III on PS4 for Free This Weekend

WARDIE

Only just noticed that its now open thanks to Push Square. Thanks for the heads up guys
Anyone know what time they're going to be keeping the servers running until? Im hoping its midnight tomorrow.
As long as I can get a good couple of hours of actual gameplay I'll be happy. That should be enough time to decide if I will be picking it up on release.

I only play the Call of Duty games for around 3 months after launch as it always seems that people start to mod or exploit it, which is a serious put off for me.

Re: Japanese Sales Charts: PS4 and Vita Enjoy a Small Sales Boost

WARDIE

I've recently purchased a new Vita which Isn't my first, but I must admit I love it. While it doesn't have anywhere near the amount of first party or third party AAA's it deserves, what it does have it top notch. It also has a pretty damn big library of digital content.
Add to that remote play and PlayStation Now and you've got yourself are damn good dedicated handheld gaming device.
Now if Sony could seriously reduce the price of the memory cards it would be great.

To be honest, I was and have been a doubter of the Vita for some time which had nothing to do with the system itself. My doubts were due to Sony's lack of proper advertising and memory card pricing.
I actually believe that if Sony would atleast reduce the price of the cards and advertised it properly the Vita could start to sell again, which would atract developers once again... Maybe. Its still powerful enough to create some top AAA's. Its miles more powerful than the new Nintendo 3DS and it does way more too.

I wish we would get some western RPG's too as im not a massive fan of JRPG's.

Look at one of the Vita's launch titles, Uncharted. I love that game and I bet they could make a new Uncharted thats even better. I showed a friend who was a doubter of the Vita Killzone Mercenarys and it blew his mind. He now owns one. If Sony had adverts showing these types of games along with remote play and PlayStation Now I think it may just convince other to purchase the Vita. Surely the Vita deserves one more push to help give it new life and a new audience.

Yeah we have smart phones that are just as powerful if not more so, but they're no substitute for a dedicated gaming device. I have Duke Nukem 3D on both my Vita and my phone. It plays great on my Vita but its horrible on my phone.

Re: PlayStation Looks Back at the History of Metal Gear Solid to Get You Hyped for The Phantom Pain

WARDIE

I have Metal Gear 1, 2 & 3 (Snake Eater) on my Vita, which are really well done to be fair. To be honest I'd never played Metal Gear 3 Snake Eater and wasn't sure if I should start Sons of Liberty first or Snake Eater. Thankfully I have friends that are hardcore MGS fans and they recommended Snake Eater first as it will help me understand the story behind the man himself, Snake.
Thought I would work my way through the series before purchasing Phantom Pain.
Though to be honest, I've only ever finished MGS 1 on the PS1 and MGS Sons of Liberty on PS2. I own MGS 4 on PS3 and im only around halfway through.
I do have one issue with MGS 3. I don't like how most of the ingame conversations sent through the codex are not even relevant to the mission or main story. I don't mind that MGS has some of the longest cutscenes found in most games, but when they start talking about Godzilla and other none relevant movies it can get a little boring. This is on a handheld after all, and by the time I've finished listening to irrelevant none mission/story conversations, my break is over and its time to get back to work.

Besides the irrelevant chitchat Im enjoying MGS3.

What is the best MGS game in the series and why, anyone?

Re: Sony Wants PS4 Firmware Update Beta Testers

WARDIE

So if a beta tester for the PS4 firmware happens to have his/her system bricked because of an issue with the new unreleased firmware, does that mean Sony will replace there PS4.
Firmware updates aren't without problems, hence the beta test before a full worldwide release.

I myself would not be willing to use my PS4 as a beta testing machine for firmware thats new and not fully tested.
The only beta test I did was purchase my PS4 day one.

Even if Sony do replace any PS4's that become bricked due to the new firmware, I would still be without my system until Sony got a replacement shipped out, and to be honest I'd rather not be put into that position.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 80

WARDIE

I have just become addicted to ESO after having sit on my shelf for nearly two months collecting dust. I had played it once when I first got it, but I didn't really enjoy it.
I had decided to trade it, but before I did I thought that I should give it one last try.
That was a week ago and I haven't stopped playing it since. I now love it!

Re: Review: The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited (PS4)

WARDIE

So, after leaving ESO on my gaming shelf to collect dust for nearly two months after only playing it just once and for only a couple of hours since I didn't really enjoy it and also having The Witcher 3 to distract me, I thought to myself, maybe I should trade it in. But I thought I would give it one more try before I said goodbye and swapped it for something else. This time I decided to start again and create a new character. That was a week ago and I haven't stopped playing it since. I now love ESO! I can't believe that I was so close to trading it in as I would have never got to experience it in the way I have, and I would have always thought that it was a boring game. Its now the only game I play, and I have over 70 games for my PS4.
I also love that its not region locked like all the other MMO's on console.

I know nobody will read my comment as this review is pretty old now but, I just felt like I wanted to tell everyone how good it is. You just had to create a character that best suited your playstyle and then get through the first couple of hours, and then.... BANG!!! Before you no it, you're addicted.

Re: Review: Everybody's Gone to the Rapture (PS4)

WARDIE

@Cron_13 Yeah Ori and the Blind Forest is a top indie game. I never said the XB1 doesn't have some good games. I was pointing out his bad attitude to indie games getting high scores and the PS4 being meh.
Which is on a PlayStation site. I can't be doing with people like these that find it fun to slate good games and consoles.
People like him are everything that is wrong with the gaming world.

Re: Enjoy a Lara Rise of the Tomb Raider Gameplay Footage

WARDIE

The old Tomb Raider games became outdated a long time ago and as such they had to modernise it. So what if its more like Uncharted these days. Uncharted has proven that games like this need to be brought into the 21th century.

I for one loved the last Tomb Raider as I found the last versions boring and outdated. Games have to move with the times. I thought they did a great origin story with the last game and this one looks even better.

Now I just have to decide which console to get it for. XB1 or wait another year to play it on PS4.

Re: Review: Everybody's Gone to the Rapture (PS4)

WARDIE

@Gemuarto Jealous much. I have an XB1 too and the PS4 has way better games, indie or AAA.
Just because its an indie game doesn't mean its a not top game or not deserving of a high score.
If you have a problem with PS4 save your Xbox fanboy antics for an Xbox site.

If the PS4 is meh and the Xbox rules, why is the PlayStation outselling the XB1 at over 2.1.

Re: Gamescom 2015: Proof Star Wars Battlefront Will Be the Biggest Game of the Year

WARDIE

Im getting sick of multiplayer PvP games these days. I seem to burn out a couple of months after purchase.
It does have the potential, but I guess time will tell, if people will stay with it or go back to BF4 of Call of Duty Black Ops 3.
I think it will obviously sell well at first due to it coinciding with the release of the Star Wars movie.

For me I'll stick with Fallout 4. May give Star Wars BF a try if it turns out to be a hit. But to be honest, I'll be getting my syfi fix from No Man's Sky and Mass Effect.

I do hope it is as good as people hope as people have been asking for a new Battlefront for years. I also it does well for DICE as I like them and there games. Also, I believe that DICE will support Battlefront with some really good expansions. Let's hope atleast one of those expansions are space battles.

Re: Is This Redesigned PS4 User Interface an Improvement?

WARDIE

Their is only one thing I don't like about the PS4 UI, and that is the library. I hate how it still has games, demos and applications I deleted from over a year ago taking up space. It still has the Destiny app from both the Alpha and the Beta which I removed after they were no longer useful.
There is no way to remove them. So everytime I go into the library to start an application or redownload something, I have to go through loads of apps that have no business being there which takes time.

All I want adding to the UI is an option to manage my applications or just a simple pin option.

I know I will probably be bashed for say this but, Sony could learn some lessons from the XB1 UI. The XB1 UI isn't perfect, but atleast it gives you more options for managing your applications.

Other than that, I really like the PS4 UI.
