Sneaking ever closer with each passing hour, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain hype levels are currently through the roof all around the net and beyond. To help thrust that hype to unspeakable levels, Sony's released a rousing new trailer that celebrates the franchise's long and brilliant history.
Featuring memorable moments from across Hideo Kojima and his team's work, it's bound to hit you right in the nostalgia if you're a long-time fan of the series. The video claims that "28 years of waiting will be rewarded", which, if nothing else, should set expectations pretty darn high.

@Sand_Storms at the time of me watching it, it only translated the written words, not the spoken part at the end of the trailer.
@Ash_uk1 Oh lol gotcha. Knowing Metal Gear, you could probably make a pretty good guess
Game of the Year.
This will probably be the game of my life too
I really can't wait, but I have to. At least my Metal Gear binge will keep me happy.
I just let out a nice, wet, steaming puddle of pee.
(a la Metal Gear Solid)
I think I was 7 when I played the first one on the NES. Didn't get anywhere when we rented it. MGS 1 is my favorite Playstation 1 game. Such an amazing game. Can't wait for Phantom Pain!
It was seeing Big Boss in the hospital ward, enabling the player to live through legendary events from Metal Gear history, that really got my juices flowing - and I'll say it, when in MGS3 that incredible theme tune plays out over Bond-esque cinematics, I'll honestly consider that one of my favourite moments in gaming. Coming after the scene with The Boss, it's lyrics and mood were pure emotion.
Classy stuff. MGS5 is my tip for game of the year.......
I have Metal Gear 1, 2 & 3 (Snake Eater) on my Vita, which are really well done to be fair. To be honest I'd never played Metal Gear 3 Snake Eater and wasn't sure if I should start Sons of Liberty first or Snake Eater. Thankfully I have friends that are hardcore MGS fans and they recommended Snake Eater first as it will help me understand the story behind the man himself, Snake.
Thought I would work my way through the series before purchasing Phantom Pain.
Though to be honest, I've only ever finished MGS 1 on the PS1 and MGS Sons of Liberty on PS2. I own MGS 4 on PS3 and im only around halfway through.
I do have one issue with MGS 3. I don't like how most of the ingame conversations sent through the codex are not even relevant to the mission or main story. I don't mind that MGS has some of the longest cutscenes found in most games, but when they start talking about Godzilla and other none relevant movies it can get a little boring. This is on a handheld after all, and by the time I've finished listening to irrelevant none mission/story conversations, my break is over and its time to get back to work.
Besides the irrelevant chitchat Im enjoying MGS3.
What is the best MGS game in the series and why, anyone?
@WARDIE MGS2 was always my favourite. I came to the end of that game at like 2am and it proceeded to blow my mind up to the last fight with solidus. I remember listening to the theme tune over and over after that. Vamp and Fatman were great bosses too.
On topic: PHANTON PAIN HYPE HYPE !!!!
*I give my life
Not for honor, but for you (Snake Eater)
In my time there'll be no one else
Crime, it's the way I fly to you (Snake Eater)
I'm still in a dream, Snake Eater*
Best MGS game EVER!
