This is why I play video games. I'll be bagging my copy at midnight on Monday 9th. I don't think Fallout 4 will be as buggy as people think. Yeah Fallout may have gone gold but, we live in the age of day one updates, thus, Bethesda is able to keep bug hunting right up to release.
I couldn't be more excited to once again step out into the wasteland
@consolfreak1982 Im doing the same. I purchase as many games as possible for it as some are becoming harder to find. I reckon in a year or two Vita games will be really hard to find. Grab those classics while you can I say.
With PlayStation Now working on Vita I don't see it dying for a few years yet. Though most PS3 titles work some don't work as well as one would like. Unfortunately thats not going to change anytime soon due to the lack of L2/R2 buttons. Once Sony add PS1 & PS2 games to the service the Vita may find itself getting alot more love.
@xMEADx I played the beta too. I thought it was somewhere between Titan Fall and AW, which is a good thing. I may have to pick it up once I've finished Fallout 4. Although, who knows how long that will be lol. Safe to say, after Xmas.
I thought the Oddworld theme was pretty good. Its dynamic and its free too. I definitely like this theme aswell. I like how peaceful it sounds. I could just close my eyes and listen to that sound and unwind
I can't help but get over hyped for Fallout 4. Been waiting for it ever since finishing Skyrim. I think its gonna have to be a digital purchase for me. Atleast that way I can start playing it monday night. That way I only have to wait 19 more days hahaha
It will obviously have the usual Bethesda bugs that we get with Elder Scrolls and Fallout, but thats to be expected. I have total faith that Fallout 4 will run just as well as it does on the XB1. After all, the PS4 has totally different architecture to its predecessor. The PS4 is basically designed by games developers.
For me its all about western RPG's. I love RPG's like Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age and Mass Effect. I've never found a JRPG that I like the look of, which is a shame as I have a Vita which doesn't do western RPG's, only JRPG's. I wish I could get into them as I would probably become addicted to my Vita.
I'll buy them for aslong as they make them. Just aslong as they're good games. The Vita is still a pretty powerful dedicated gaming device, its just a shame we won't get anymore games like Killzone, Uncharted, Tearaway, etc that take advantage of the hardware. Thank god for remote play and PlayStation Now because for me they have given the Vita an extended life.
The NES was the second games console I owned after the Atari 2600. I instantly fell in love with it. Some very fond memories indeed Can't believe its been 30 years.
I've been using the service, PlayStation Now on my Vita. While not all games work as good as I'd like because of the lack of shoulder buttons, I am having alot of fun with it. I hope that Sony eventually add PS1, PS2 and Vita games to the service as its a great fit and also gives the Vita a longer life.
Me and a buddy of mine just got back into Warframe. I can't believe how much content Warframe has these days. Such a good game that deserves a retry if you didn't like it when it first released on PS4.
Other than that I can't get Fallout 4 out of my mind and because of that I can't bring myself to play much of anything else. Sad I know, but Fallout is my number 1 game of all time and as such gives me tunnel vision anytime a new iteration is about to release.
I did play a bit of Oddworld Strangers Wrath in bed this morning on my Vita.
Never played Crime & Punishment's so I don't know what to expect. If Crime & Punishment's is worth picking up I may have to do so. Whilst we're talking about Sherlock, I can't wait for the new season to start on BBC1
Maybe he will have a son and he'll continue the adventures. That's if Drake dies. I trust Naughty Dog 100% with whatever they decide. It's not like Sony will allow this to be the last ever Uncharted game.
The PC just got a Fallout anthology. God I wish we got it on console. I know there is alot more work bringing the whole series to PS4 and Xbox, but I know it would have sold very well in the run up to Fallout 4.
I wouldn't mind Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. I already own everything else so I won't be using my US account for those. I hope we get a similar price reduction of different games in the UK. I would love to nab SOMA for a seriously reduced price but, thats just wishful thinking I guess. Still, this is a damn good sale.
@SonyInfinity Yep it sure does. I've had tunnel vision for Fallout 4 ever since E3. Will this be there 5th game of the year in a row. I have a feeling it will.
@charlesnarles I get around 10mb/sec and it works great for me. I play Killzone Mercenary online with no lag. When im using my Vita for remote play and im pretty far from my router I make sure to connect direct to my PS4 wireless and that works great.
@Boerewors New Vegas wasn't developed by Bathesda. It was Obsidian who were behind those bugs.
Fallout 3 was by far my favourite and there is no way I could put Fallout 4 off until February. Besides, Deus Ex is out in February and thats a great RPG series. Mirrors Edge 2 and Far Cry Primal are also releasing that month with Uncharted 4 the following month.
There isn't going to be any downtime for games for the next several months.
@Jaz007 I'll be getting it, but the main reason is, London was my home city for a couple of years. I hope the local is well done aswell as the historical figures that will be making an appearance. It certainly looks nice in the graphics department. If the gameplay is fun and the story is interesting I will be more than happy. Apart from Black Flag, Syndicate will be my first AC game I buy new.
@Jaz007 You hope its the worst selling AC game ever? Im no fan of the series, nor will I ever be but, I personally think Syndicate looks pretty good and I wish them all the success, for them and the fans.
Its ok I guess. The graphics and sound effects are second to none, at the moment but, I don't think it has the longevity of other multiplayer games. I guess time will tell.
I won't be getting it when it releases. Instead I will be need deep in the wasteland of Fallout 4. After that its Rainbow Six Siege for me.
Once I can get a yearly subscription and they stop holding back games that are really old just to make a few more quid I will sign up. I just don't understand why they've chosen the games they have to hold back. I've had the trial running great and my download speed is only 10mbps. If they decide to do a yearly subscription and its around £100 I can probably get on board with that price, although, they're going to have to add way more games. Problem is, I don't see how they'll be able to add too many games and keep the price were it is. Surely the more games they add, the more they'll have to pay out to publishers.
I hope it succeeds as I actually like the service, much to my surprise.
@SonyInfinity Its not that everyone wants triple A's but, not the same 8bit games. Its mainly 8bit platform games so I can understand why some may be getting fed up.
I don't think Sony really care. When it was just the PS3 and Vita Sony had to attract gamers to the service as it wasn't required to play online. Now the PS4 is out and doing really well, its now a required service to play online so Sony don't have to dangle a carrot to attract gamers.
Maybe Sony should stop the service for PS3 and in another year or two drop it for the Vita. Maybe then they can invest in better games for PS4.
Its not really an issue for me and most of my friends as we were on the Xbox 360 for several years which had a mandatory subscription if you wanted to play online, join partys, use the browser or just use apps like Netflix, YouTube etc. To me the monthly games are a bonus.
@iDangerMouse_ You can do that easy mate. I finished Uncharted 1 & 2 over the course of two weekends on the hard difficulty. If you want the platinum trophy you will have to finish them twice though.
I've played the demo and to be honest, I wasn't impressed. While its clear they have made improvements to the resolution, frame rate, draw distance, textures and some of the controls, I did feel like Drake felt less responsive when compared to the PS3 version of Uncharted 2. I actually went back to my PS3 version to make sure. I even asked a few friends to try both and they said the same. My main complaint was, when you're in the menu's the PS4 gets very hot and very loud too. I understand that this wasn't the full version but, I think I may pass on this collection. Besides, I already own them all on PS3 anyway and they don't make my PS3 sound like a jet engine. I also can't justify the price tag for games I've already beaten multiple times.
I still play DooM 1 & 2 Ultimate DooM and Final DooM. To me the PS1 version of DooM was by far my favourite, and I own every version of the game on every system its been on. The atmosphere was so much better because the PS1 version didn't have the rock music but instead had some really freaky sound effects. I also remember playing Resident Evil and being blown away. I actually played Resident Evil without a memory card for about a week as I couldn't afford one until I got my pocket money. Trouble is, everytime I would die I would have to start again, but that was ok because I was loving every minute of it. I still love the sound the PS1 would make when you turned it on or loaded a game. Everytime I play Metal Gear Solid 1 on my Vita I am treated with that PS1 boot up sound and I never get tired of hearing it.
I wish Sony would port as many PS1 and PS2 games to Vita as they can. That way thay wouldn't have to worry about new first and third party games made for Vita as im sure alot of us would be more than happy to have access to the massive library of games that the PS1 and PS2 had to offer.
I do blame Sony for the most part. The marketing was ridiculous. I have met a S**t tonne of people (gamers) that have never even heard of the Vita. Just the other day someone thought I was playing on a PSP and when I told them what it actually was they were really shocked.
Also Sony cancelled an Infamous game and a sequel to Uncharted Golden Abyss. The Uncharted sequel got as far as having the game engine built. They forced us to use there own memory card that were way over priced which was a real turn off for alot of people, including me. I sold my first Vita because of those reasons but, I recently got myself a Vita slim and a 64gb memory card and I have now fallen back in love with it. Their are loads of games for it but because most are digital when you go into a store it looks like their isn't very many games at all. I was really surprised when I got my new Vita slim and went onto the PlayStation store as their are tonnes of games, and having a 64gb memory card allows me to take my massive games collection with me everywhere I go. Next I want a 128gb card as I want to get as many games as possible before Sony decide to stop supporting entirely.
I think Sony should at some point start making bundles that include the PS4 and PS Vita together as it may just help sell a few more. I love remote play and being able to join partys with my friends on PS4 via my Vita. Being able to go on holiday and while you're chilling in the hotel room late at night and talking to my friends on PS4 and also playing certain cross play games is a great feature.
If they fix it with numerous patches I may consider picking it up when its cheap. Although, with so many games releasing over the coming months I doubt I will pick it up for some time. If they're going to half arse it and charge us through the nose for it, why should I even give them support. With these day one patches its becoming increasingly common for publishers to force devs to release games way to early and before a game is finished. I've now started to not pre order games as I prefer to wait for the game to be fixed and is working the way it should be working on its release day. Maybe if we all did that it would hopefully make publishers realise they cannot force devs to release games unfinished. I used to pre order upto 30 games a year but, so fair this year I haven't pre ordered one game. I haven't even pre ordered Fallout 4, which surprises myself. If we all keep pre ordering games things are never going to get any better.
I still notice frame drops on certain cut scenes. I also got alot of pop in in certain areas too. Also every time I got into the inventory and scroll over to potions or crafting it keeps giving me the pop up tutorial telling me about pins. There is also a tiny bit of texture tearing in places, although its rare. Apart from that its all good.
My only issue is that the XB1 gets Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2 for free. I wish Sony would have implemented backwards compatibility for the PS4 instead of PlayStation Now. While I do think that the service has alot of potential, I don't think the world is ready to stream games. Average internet speeds need to increase across the board, and Sony also need to get the price down. Besides, im not going to rent games at £4,99 and upwards when you can buy the physical games for the same price.
