Re: Sony Switches Off PlayStation TV Shipments in Japan

WARDIE

@themcnoisy CEX is selling them for £35 and that price will drop. I was talking about myself and not the general population as most people won't even know what a PSTV is. Infact there are still people who haven't even heard of the Vita. I've had people think I was playing on a PSP and when I told them what it was they looked confused lol

Re: Sony Switches Off PlayStation TV Shipments in Japan

WARDIE

@themcnoisy Moving your PS4 is loads more hassle than just turning on the little box. Also remote play isn't as good as it could be on the Vita since it doesn't have L2/R2 and the screen is too small for certain games. Granted you would have to spend money for the PSTV but, I've alread seen them go for less than £40. Now Sony has officially stop supporting and supplying the device its only going to get cheaper.

Re: Sony Switches Off PlayStation TV Shipments in Japan

WARDIE

I will snatch one up when I see it being sold dirt cheap. I will just use it for remote play so I can use my PS4 in multiple rooms. I also own a tonne of Vita games thanks to PS+. Im sure I will be able to find one for less than 20 quid soon enough.

Re: DOOM Should Run Like a Bloody Dream on PS4

WARDIE

Being a long time MASSIVE fan of DOOM I cannot wait for this game. I own every iteration of the series and I have been waiting for this one for years. The graphics, gameplay and sound effects are spot on for a DOOM game. Im really looking forward to sending those demons back to hell.

Because of DOOM, Uncharted 4, Ratchet & Clank and Mirrors Edge2 I have decided skip The Division because games like that require so much time. That's time I feel could be better spent on the games I mentioned above.

Re: PS4 Remains the Best Place to Play, Says Sony

WARDIE

@xMEADx PS4 is the best place to play if you want low cost, great first partys, Convenience, games working day 1 (yeah some console games do release broken these but, PC games release in horrible states because its an open platform) and don't wanna get hacked.

PC is the best place to play if you want the best graphics, loads of F2P, Modding, 60fps Plus lol, Cheaper games etc

I think that the best way to play is owning all platforms. That way you get the best of all worlds. That's what I have always done.

Re: PS4 Remains the Best Place to Play, Says Sony

WARDIE

@andrew20 Get a PS4 with a larger HDD. You don't have to have every single game installed at the same time.

I don't mean to sound like a DK but, its a strange reason not to get a PS4. From now on every system will probably require games being installed. PC's have been doing it for ever and so was PS3 for alot of games.

Re: Talking Point: Do You Fast Travel in Open World Games?

WARDIE

I'll only start using fast travel once I have discovered pretty much every location. Me and a friend both purchased Skyrim at the same time and we also played it together while in a party. He was round my house one day and wanted to see what I had discovered within my world. After around 100hrs of play time he saw my world map, weapon, amour collection and he couldn't believe how much I had compared to his character. I'd discovered over 200 locations aswell as some top weapons, amour, Dragon Souls and Shouts etc. If I had of used fast travel I would have missed so much.

Re: Resident Evil 4, 5, and 6 Are All Shuffling to PS4 This Year

WARDIE

As good as RE4 & RE5 were they won't feel anywhere near as good as they did. In our minds they were amazing games for there time, but thats just it, times have moved on massively and those controls, AI etc if not updated are going to feel all wrong.

Capcom have received a bit of criticism of late for there remasters and of course the lack of content in SFV but, atleast they're trying. They could just take the easy way out like Konami did. Making mobie games is loads cheaper, easier and has less risk than traditional games development.

Capcom have been around for aslong as I can remember and I would hate to see them close their doors like so many studios have this generation.

Re: Fallout 4's Survival Mode Takes Things Way More Seriously

WARDIE

I've put nearly 100hrs in so far and I've only done 6 main quests and 8 side quests. Been spending most of my time running around for the Brotherhood of Steel and the Minute men. I have friends that finished Fallout 4 within the first week. It will take me a few month as I like to take my time. There is so much more to Fallout than its main quest line.

Im not going to bother getting the season pass as I will just wait for the GOTY Edition. They usually come out a year later and I much more prefer having all of the content on my disk.

In regards to survival mode, I will play it in that mode on my next play through. By then most bugs should have been patched.

Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Is the Most Stunning PS4 Game to Date

WARDIE

@DragonSlayer1759 I would imagine it will be much longer than 8hrs mate. It's their last Uncharted game. I got twice that length out of the previous games. I do play it on hard and I search for collectables but, im sure they're usually 12-15hrs even on normal.

I know The Last of Us was a different game but, it was also a Naughty Dog game and I got around 17hrs but again, I played it on hard. I play all the games I love on hard so as to make them last as long as possible.

Re: So, That Other VR Headset Will Cost You $800

WARDIE

VR is finally at a consumer level and that really excites me. I always saw potential in the VR medium way back in the 1990's, but also realised it would be some years before I could own one for myself. While it would be great to own the most technically advanced headset, it isn't really realistic at this stage. Developers are only just starting to play around with the technology and as such it's still going to be a few years before they truly start to get to grips with the medium. Taking that into account it makes more sense to go with PSVR over the other devices. PSVR is obviously going to be way cheaper, have the full power of Sony behind it (Sony is a hardware and Entertainment company) and it will probably have way more games too.
Maybe when VR has finally settled into its own stride it will be worth a look at the alternatives, until then I believe PSVR is the way to go.

Re: Gallery: DriveClub's New City Track Is Stunning on PS4

WARDIE

@themcnoisy Yeah that is a fun track. I love how much the rain changes a track. You can fly around any track and think you've mastered it, but once the heavens open and the track is soaking wet anything can happen. Me and a few friends would try and race around whilst its raining in hyper cars. Now that is hard lol. Even though I have payed £80 for DriveClub, having purchased it twice, I have never got that buyers remorse feeling that I've had with other games. It's definitely one of my favourite racers. I even prefer it to Forza on my XB1 which surprised me because I usually prefer sims.

Re: Watch Dogs 2 Will Don Its Iconic Cap by April 2017 on PS4

WARDIE

@Gamer83 That's one of the problems with gaming today. Games can get too hyped, which is dangerous because peoples expectations are then often too high. It happened to Destiny too. Hello Games dev Sean Murray said he was worried about the hype surrounding No Man's Sky simply because of people allowing their imagination to run away. He called the hype a double edged sword. While its great that people are really excited about your new IP, it can also lead them to think about features that aren't even in the game and as such they end up feeling letdown when they get the game and it wasn't what they had imagined. But I guess its easy to allow your imagination to run wild with a game thats literally the size of a real galaxy.

I definitely believe that Watch Dogs 2 will be an amazing game simply because of how much potential the first game had. It had something to really build on and im sure Ubisoft saw that, just like with Assassin's Creed as you said.. Also Ubisoft have had plenty of time to get familiar with this generations hardware. I just hope that what they show at this years E3 is what we get when WD2 releases next year. People have come to expect downgrades from Ubisoft these days. Just like what happened with The Division.

For all the grief people give to Ubisoft, they definitely have a good library of games these days. A broad selection too.

Re: Fallout 4's New Patch Makes the Game Look Better on PS4

WARDIE

I haven't had any noticeable performance issues while playing Fallout 4. I have discovered over 200 locations too. I know that some people have had quite a few issues like frame rate dips and the usual Bethesda glitches and bugs. I guess I have just been lucky.

Re: Gallery: DriveClub's New City Track Is Stunning on PS4

WARDIE

I love DriveClub! I actually traded my first copy not long after it first released but with full intention of getting it back if/when they fixed it, and fixed it they sure did. I would love to play it more but none of my friends play it anymore. Maybe I will re install it over the weekend and give this new track a try.

Re: Watch Dogs 2 Will Don Its Iconic Cap by April 2017 on PS4

WARDIE

I actually really enjoyed Watch Dogs. From what I have heard, Watch Dogs 2 is supposedly going to be based in San Francisco. I believe the second iteration will actually be alot better with more people enjoying it this time around.

Im also looking forward to, For Honour, Wild and Ghost Recon. Im not a fan of South Park so I couldn't care less about that game. I have heard good things about South Park Stick of Truth (or whatever is was called) but im not into turn based RPG's. Can't wait to see and know more about Wild as it blew me away the last time I saw it.

Re: Be in the Running for a Mirror's Edge Catalyst PS4 Beta Code

WARDIE

I am really looking forward to this game!

Trouble is, there are too many top AAA's due out over the next few months. Don't get me wrong though im not complaining, its just going to be hard finding the time to play them all.

Im really looking forward to DOOM, Uncharted 4, The Division, Mirror's Edge Catalyst, No Man's Sky, Alienation and one or two others that I can't seem to remember right now.
Then we have PSVR with whatever games launch alongside that new and exciting peripheral. Plus im still working my way through The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4. Im kinda glad Deus Ex got pushed back to August.

I loved the first Mirror's Edge and I always hoped they would make another. Back when Mirror's Edge first released there wasn't anything like it in the FPS genre. With how FPS games have changed/evolved since the first Mirror's Edge, im really excited to see how this version plays. Add to that the power of current gen and an open world, this game could potentially be amazing.

Once upon a time I would buy every single game no matter how close they were released together, but these days I try and contain my excitement and purchase one at a time. I still haven't picked up Metal Gear Phantom Pain or Mad Max. It works out well for me as I can get them much cheaper later on but, it doesn't work out too well for the developer (of whom I want to support) as there is the possibility I may get their games pre owned, in which case the game stores like GAME & GAMESTOP make the money with zero percent going to the Dev/Pub.

I've been gaming for 30 years and I will continue to game until I am too old and frail to hold a controller, or whatever ever we will be using in the future. It's just getting too hard to find the time to game these days, what with work, family time, Socialising, Gym, going out clubing etc.

Re: Titanfall 2 to Take the PS4 by Storm Prior to April 2017

WARDIE

They also said TitanFall wouldn't run on PS4 due to the XB1 using the power of the cloud... Yeah right!
Still, I actually enjoyed it, although 90% of people didn't really use the Titans. It was more fun on foot. Infact it pretty much played just like Black Ops 3.

Re: Round Up: Witness the Reviews for The Witness on PS4

WARDIE

@BAMozzy You can hardly call the puzzles in Tome Raider puzzles. They were far too simple. Uncharteds puzzles weren't that difficulty ether.

I respect your opinion though as clearly this isn't a game for everyone.

I myself have really been looking forward this game after his last amazing entry. Hope its free at some point just so you can give it a try. You never know, it may just surprise you.

Re: Kojima's Been Checking Out the Motion Capture Studio Used for The Last of Us

WARDIE

@themcnoisy Yeah that would rock. I never played The Order 1886 but I will get around to it eventually. I've heard mixed things about that game which is why I haven't got around to it yet.
Hopefully Kojima will have something to show or announce at this years E3.

I do have a strong feeling that whatever he makes will be PSVR compatible. To be honest, I would be surprised if his next game isn't a PSVR game given that Sony are going to want people to be excited about Virtual Reality and having Kojima make an exclusive game for it would be a tempting prospect for most.

Re: Kojima's Been Checking Out the Motion Capture Studio Used for The Last of Us

WARDIE

If we're to be getting a PS4 exclusive I think Kojima needs to get cracking. Usually his masterpieces take a good 3-4 years of development and considering Kojima productions has yet to come up with a new idea for a new IP they're going to be pushing it for time I would think. If it does take 3-4 years we won't be pplaying it until 2020. Unless they already have a project already underway. I guess its safe to say we'll only be getting the one exclusive this generation. I have a feeling that whatever ever it will be it'll be a game for PSVR which is a very exciting prospect.

Re: The Witness Will Cost You a Pretty Penny on PS4

WARDIE

@Swiket Every time I try to download it, it says that its no longer available. To be honest though, I have a few games I cannot download anymore, not many, but enough to bother me. I had Double Dragon on my XB360 and I can't re download that either.
Some games I don't mind loosing once I have finished with them, but some games I never want to loose. I bought The Witcher 3 from the PSN and I seriously regret doing that. I wish I had the physical copy because I know in years to come I will want to go back and play it. I sometimes go back and play games like the original Doom, Final Doom, Oblivion and Fallout 3. Those are games I would never get rid of. When the PS5 comes out some of those games won't be available on PSN so im glad I own the physical versions.

But developers have been known to remove their games from digital stores on occasion for various reasons. They may have gone out of business and sold their IP's and because of that the new owner decides to remove it from the store. Konami did it with PT. I know that was only a demo, but its now gone for good.

Re: The Witness Will Cost You a Pretty Penny on PS4

WARDIE

I don't have a problem with paying £30 (and I don't see why others do) for any game if its a good game and this actually looks promising. I do wish it had a retail version too though. The problem with digital only games are you never really own them. Yeah its yours to keep for as long as you want but, if you decide to delete it as some point to make room for something else but later decide to re download it, there is a possibility of the game being pulled fom the store. It wouldn't be the first time thats happened. I had Scott Pilgrim Vs The World but deleted it to make room. I recently went back to download it and surprise surprise, its no longer available. Developers can pull games for various reasons and because of that you never really own that title.
Still, I have been looking forward to this game ever since it was first shown back at E3 2013 so if there is no other choice I will have to purchase the digital version. But only if it gets good reviews across the board. Fingers crossed!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 101

WARDIE

Finally got around to playing and finishing Alien Isolation. I really enjoyed it! It's definitely an under rated game. It just takes a few missions to get going. If anyone hasn't played it and enjoyed the playstyle in Outlast I highly recommend playing Alien Isolation.

Tomorrow its back to Fallout 4, The Witcher 3 or Assassin's Creed Syndicate.

Re: You Won't Need a PlayStation Plus Subscription to Play World of Tanks on PS4

WARDIE

The World of Tanks beta has been on the PlayStation store for ages. And of course, just like every F2P game it doesn't require PlayStation Plus to play it. When Sony launched the PS4 they stated that F2P games wouldn't require a PS+ subscription.

Having tried World of Tanks I can say that in my opinion it isn't that good. There are better F2P games on PlayStation. Warframe, Planetside 2 and Blacklight Retribution etc are definitely better imo. Besides, HDD space is at a premium these days so I only install the games I know I will be playing alot of.

Re: Your January PlayStation Plus Games Are Available to Download Now

WARDIE

@adf86 I didn't say anything is wrong with them. You're right, some indies are better but, alot are trash that nobody wants. Also there are alot of AAA's that are better than indies.
I couldn't care less to be far as I stated above. Im used to paying for online services.
I do however understand why people complain about getting indie after indie after indie.
Maybe if Sony gave us one AAA every other month it might make some people happy. After all, most people were paying for AAA games on PS3 via PS+ but now over 2 years of Plus on PS4 and the standard remains the same as it was day one on PS4.

Re: Your January PlayStation Plus Games Are Available to Download Now

WARDIE

@ShogunRok To be far, you can hardly blame people for complaining about PS+ offerings on PS4. The PS4 has been out for over 2 years and still people have to settle for indie games each month. Especially when you see the PS3 getting better (albeit much older) games. In this day and age we shouldn't have to pay to play online. PC doesn't have a pay wall. You can't argue the, Sony need the money to maintain the service either ad the service is terrible considering we pay for it.
It doesn't bother me as much as some as I spent 8 years paying for Xbox Live and that didn't come with free, if mostly uninspiring games.

I think that Sony needs to bring back the voting system. Not sure why they only had it in place for one month.

Re: Review: Assassin's Creed Syndicate: Jack the Ripper (PS4)

WARDIE

Im loving AC Syndicate! Im not what you would consider a fan of the series having only played a few and only enjoying Black Flag and Syndicate. But this one has me hooked so far. It definitely helps having the game based in London, a city I lived in for a short time. It's great spending time in the 19th century, meeting and learning about historical people and locations.

Im definitely going to try for that platinum trophy, which is helped by not having multiplayer trophies as they're something I hate in games I purchase solely for single player.

Re: Game of the Year: #10 - Destiny: The Taken King (PS4, PS3)

WARDIE

@LieutenantFatman I refuse to purchase a retail game thats full price but also has the cheek to include microtransactions.

I don't have a problem with microtransactions, just as long as they stay away from full priced retail games. They're fine when used in the F2P model as I except they can be a good and fair source of income for the developer when implemented in the right way.

Anytime I see them in retail games I see it as just another way to squeeze us for as much money as possible. Is it not enough that game prices have gone up by around £15/£20 for the base game and then we have season passes that can cost as much as another £50 and now they want more of our hard earned money. Im not sure if its true but, im sure I read somewhere that for £25 you can automatically level upto level 25 in Destiny.

So when alls said and done, one could have spent close to £150 on Destiny. Is it worth it? I think not.

PS sorry to include you in my rant

Re: GAME's Share Prices Plunge as UK Retailer Is Struck by Pre-Christmas Slump

WARDIE

I haven't purchased a game from them for years. I get my games from Tesco and ASDA which usually saves me £10/£15. Its not like staff are very helpful at GAME either. I've lost count how many times I have over heard a customer asking for advice on a certain game and the staff at GAME had no clue. Sometimes I have even overheard staff say that a game is really good to a customer just to get a sale, when actually the game was total rubbish.

I used to shop at GAMESTATION which had staff that actually played games so they knew their product and could give useful and honest advice.

If GAME employed more people that played games so they can give advice and they could afford to compete with supermarkets they would easily turn things around for the better but, unfortunately I can't see that happening and as such I can see them going out of business sometime this generation.

Also, their pre owned prices are ridiculous, which is their bread and butter as they can easily make over 100% profit and do from that games section. But there are other alternative stores like Games World, CEX and multiple others that have much cheaper pre owned prices.

I've known GAME to charge around £5 more for a pre owned title over a brand new title. Its not too often, but often enough.

They're victims of their own greed and stupidity. Unless they wake up and make some changes real soon they won't last very much longer.

While I don't use or like GAME I don't want to see them close their doors for good, because like @get2sammyb said, Sony need stores like them to help sell their products such as PSVR and Microsoft also for their future tech.

Re: Uncharted 4's Been Delayed Yet Again on PS4

WARDIE

I would much rather a game be delayed that rushed out of the door. Look what happened with AC Unity.
I find it funny that Neil said it wouldn't be delayed again but its only a few days.
Besides, you can pretty much guarantee that Uncharted 4 will be another Naughty Dog master piece with a score of 10/10.
