With no release date or information attached to Sony's own Hot Shots Golf sequel, we're gagging for a good gold game on the PlayStation 4. Unfortunately, the recently released Rory McIlroy PGA Tour hit a bit of a bogey – but we'd happily take it for a swing at the right price. Fortunately, then, EA Sports has lowered the game's entry fee as part of this week's European PlayStation Store sale, where it'll cost you just £34.99 until 2nd September.
Even at that price, it's still a little rough – but it's cheaper than on websites like Amazon.co.uk, so may still be worth a shot. Also discounted this week are a bunch of LEGO games across all three major PlayStation platforms, as well a handful of random PS4 releases, like Dead or Alive 5: Last Round and The Pinball Arcade. When lego games were on sale in the us: $5 per lego games except for the 3 newest ones, they were $20
The sale price for lego games in this sale: €20 for the really old ones, the newer ones are ranging from €20 to €40.
Not convenient at all.
Luckily I just bought the last one I was missing. Most of the titles in this sale are already part of my game collection so nothing for me this time
Only £35, that should be its RRP. Cats out the bag, the game is whack. I'll play through something requiring le$$ green.
Was waiting for a review of riptide 2 but at £3.79 who cares,
Jesus... Toukiden Kiwami is normally £55? They think reducing it to £39 is good? Its normal price on Amazon is £25! I think it's arguably okay if a digital game is sliiiightly more expensive as you can argue you don't have to wait for it to arrive (or go out to get it yourself) and an often overlooked benefit of digital is the lack of disc-swapping. But when even on sale it's more expensive to the degree you could buy an additional game as well..? That's a terrible way to go about things.
@gingerfrog Picked the two game pack including Riptide 2 at the weekend for 6 dollars on US flash sale and they are okay games, nothing breathtaking but playable and good enough to waste time on..
Decent enough difficulty curve to maintain interest, but for the price don't expect anything mindblowing..
@dellyrascal
Yeh picked this up now, should be a good one to play with my nephew. It's basic but I think I'm going to enjoy the break from the complex racers out here and just sit back and have a bit of split screen arcade fun. I did assume it would get reviewed as it came to my attention from an early article before its release here on pushsquare. But £3.79 is a get price less than a beer.
@gingerfrog It's worth it for £3.79. Sorry, I was supposed to review that one, but it kind of slipped through the cracks!
@Matroska I don't agree. Digital games should be cheaper for a number of reason, the main one being that both Sony and publishers save loads of money by selling a game on the PSN store or any other digital outlet. They don't have the cost of printing disks, packaging and shelf space. There is also the cost of shipping retail games to the stores too which costs publishers money. All those costs are paid by us, the consumer. So, if the publishers and Sony are making a massive saving through digital distribution shouldn't we get to see some of those savings too.
Don't forget that they should be incouraging us, the consumer to buy digital as not only do they save money from what I said above but, they lose even more money when we purchase our games pre owned. Infact, they don't see a penny from the pre owned market which can be in the hundreds of millions of pounds. I think most of us purchase a game pre owned from time to time.
I do agree that there are plenty of benefits to digital games as you stated but until they reduce the price its gonna be hard to convince people to choose digital over retail. Putting the price up, even by a small amount would be crazy.
I'll stick Everybody's Golf on PS3 until its on PS4 , can't stand McIlroy and won't be buying his game. Reckon it'll be Jordan Spieth golf soon.
Folks looking for a good golf game are doing themselves a disservice if they don't check out The Golf Club.
It has some warts, but the overall golf physics are excellent, and it has a course creator. The courses created by the community are absolutely mind-blowing.
