I can’t wait. Just announce something already! Love FFIX.
Side note, I’m very curious how much of a remake this will be and how the character models will look. FFIX stands out for having characters that seemed smaller in stature than the other games. This is shown in the Dissidia games too where Zidane is, I believe, the second shortest character after Shantotto. Curious how the remake will capture them, or if it will lean toward more remastering the visuals.
Welcome update allowing us to dismantle multiple items at once. The one at a time thing was a bit too tedious. Happy about that and enjoying the game quite a lot.
"96 Quite Bitter Beings" is probably the song I think about when I think about this game. That and Bodyjar's "Not The Same". If one or both are axed, I don't think I'd be kidding myself by saying that would hurt my hype even just a tiny bit.
I like the game so far. Still learning the combat. As someone who doesn't particularly excel at fighters and generally wants nothing to do with the competitive/online scene, the thing I then look for is story, which I know is asking for a lot for this genre. But at least Bleach does deliver that at least, albeit a bit clunky.
The character models are a bit weird at times, their poses, movements, etc. Some scenes and moments are done well and do the anime justice (like Aizen blocking Zabimaru), others they clearly can't animate well and just do cuts to and from black, so it feels awkward. But for a fighting game, where that isn't the primary focus, I can mostly forgive that.
I hope it can somehow do well, because I like Bleach and it deserves more games.
I love that this genre is back in a more popular way than ever. I am a little worried about fatigue though. Streets of Rage 4 was fantastic. Shredder’s Revenge also really good. I haven’t played Power Rangers yet but I am worried about that feeling a little same-y. If this wasn’t Marvel I would probably say pass for now.
Omg I knew it haha. Look at my comment history and I probably said like 2-3 times “I want to grab Robocop but I bet it’s gonna be free soon.” And sure enough. I just bought it last sale and there it is. I shoulda stayed with my gut but oh well. I think I only paid $8 or something, so it’s not like I feel robbed.
Ugh, next time though, gotta stick with my gut as long as possible.
Oh right, I totally forgot that report. I think I recall they said it has maybe a few hallmarks that look "Soulsy" but overall it leans more toward standard action I guess? But yes, you reminded me about that, I had completely forgotten that I read that.
Ooof, this is the first one in a while that hurts. And it hurts a lot. I had plans on playing Animal Well, Kena, and Zau. Doubt I'll be able to squeeze all of them in before departure, but I'll try to get at least two.
Gonna skip it, final decision. While the color scheme isn’t bad, it’s also not great (IMO) and that just leaves “for collection purposes” as my only reason to get it. And if we’re going by that logic, there’s at least 2-3 other DualSenses I don’t own. If we’re talking just the limited edition ones, I do not have the Concord one (lol) or the Lebron James one, so I think I’m good skipping this one.
Yeah heard about this and immediately cringed. Such a shame. He's SUCH a good Dante and also did the mo-cap. Why did he have to be crazy, ugh. But I guess if you're gonna recast Dante, who better than his nephew?
My only question with this series is, is it supposed to be like a prequel and take place within existing canon? Or is this one of those "we're going to retell the story our way" things? Because I hate the latter.
It would be hugely hypocritical of me to have a problem with this but also say the PlayStation games on PC needing a PSN login is fine. So I’m not really bothered by it. In fact, pretty sure I do have a Microsoft account. Assuming it just means that and not specifically like an Xbox login or something.
I might hold off on this one. I already have Spider-Man 2, God of War Ragnarok, Astro Bot, Helldivers 2 and 30th Anniversary DualSense controllers. All of them are very nice and have good designs and control schemes, but this one is not quite as impressive. Plus while I enjoy TLOU, not the biggest hardcore fan.
I’m guessing this will frustrate some folks who hold THPS4 in high regard or with deep nostalgia. I get it—I’d probably feel similar if they messed with THPS3 in such a drastic way.
I guess I’ll consider myself fortunate then that I have never played 4, and therefore have zero basis for how it “should” be.
This works well for me. Definitely robust enough but not as hard to digest as the Origins-Odyssey-Valhalla trio. Odyssey is hands down one of the best open world games I've ever played but I put like 150+ hours into it and I still had like 30% of the map left to explore. It was amazing, but bulky as hell. I loved that though, how vast the world seemed and how unique each corner of it was.
BUT. I don't want every AC game to be like that. By the time I got to Valhalla, it got to be a bit much. So something a bit smaller scale but still robust, as I said earlier, is welcome. More important to me is innovating the gameplay and trying some new things, which so far, Shadows seems to be doing.
I swear that if I buy Robocop, it's gonna be added to PS+ in like 2-3 months. I can almost guarantee it lol. But at $8.99 I couldn't be too mad at myself. Still a good deal, plus being able to hold onto the game rather than lose it to the comings and goings of PS+ Extra/Premium.
Yeah, echoing a few other comments in saying that, as exciting as it is for Horizon to come over, it's a bit of a slap in the face for it to be $60. And then an earlier report said this was with no DLC included, so that's even worse. Like C'mon, what are we doing. You are literally releasing this game to a ginormous community of people who either never played it before because they gamed exclusively PS, or owned both systems and have actually played it before. This is (and I'm using super air quotes here) "free money" essentially. Why upcharge?
I'd be interested in trying this. There's a lot of fun indie games that I am left with "I want more". And perusing the PSN store beyond the Cult of the Lambs, the Hollow Knights, the Dead Cells, and Dave the Divers of the world is tough. Once you get past that 1st or 2nd tier of big indies, it's tough to parse the good gems from the junk.
Can someone remind me if this is more or less than the price it was on during Black Friday? It sounds like it’s slightly more, but I don’t remember. I’m tempted to jump on it, but less so if it’s not matching that previous sale point.
Yeah, frustrating move by WB, preventing other studios from trying to adapt their own version. There are LOTS of games that I play with cool mechanics, or even just fun twists on genres and I'm like "yes, I want more of that." And more often than not, there's usually a good substitute somewhere else.
So yeah, it's sad we might have to wait a long time to see a repeat of the Nemesis system. That said, as cool/unique as it was, I won't say I'm going to be losing sleep over it. I can always replay the two Shadow of Mordor/War games.
Without wanting to contribute to the inevitable physical v digital feud, I’ll just say I love both but I’ve done almost entirely digital with some significant exceptions.
That said, the price gouging in the PSN store should be addressed. There’s no reason Armored Core VI to still be full price and on sale for only $34.99 when Amazon and other retailers will sell it for $19.99 pretty often. Like what gives? And that’s just one example of many.
I don’t mind paying a tiny bit more for the convenience of digital but I shouldn’t be able to undercut the PSN store price by almost half somewhere else.
Edit: just adding that, skimming the comments, I’m seeing the argument about how Sony doesn’t set the prices, it’s the publishers, which is something I’ve seen before. My only question is, if that’s the case (not saying it’s false by any means), is why do the publishers say Sony can sell this game for $40, but Amazon can sell it for $20?
Omg I'm so happy. I love THPS3 so much. Now just get most of the music back and it'll be amazing. I think 1&2 HD retained a high majority of the songs, with a few new ones replacing ones that didn't return. If they maintain a similar rate, I'll be happy.
CKY, Bodyjar, Motorhead, AFI, and so many more bangers.
Eh, let’s see how it is in actual matches before we do anything. I’d rather find a way to combat Spider-Man players doing the constant punch-punch-RUN AWAY bs before nerfing a character we haven’t tried yet.
You want to talk about games that changed your life? Either they just had an extraordinary impact, resonated deeply with you on a thematic/story level, or the gameplay was just something that so absolutely freakin’ clicked for you? THPS3 is one of those for me.
The combination of updated skating gameplay (lip "grab" tricks like Boneless and reverts were added to this game for the first time—both were retro added to THPS 1+2 HD) and the amazing soundtrack just clicked on such a profound level. I was so addicted and I loved this game so much. An HD version (with most of the soundtrack returning, please) would be so divine.
Visual and combat wise it got a decent check from me. The voice over threw me off, like WAY off. I'll have to see if that's something I can look past or not, or if it will just be better in the finished product.
I got my eyes on Dragon's Dogma 2 but waiting for it to drop to that like $30 or less threshold, which it has yet to, at least digitally. I know I'm not gonna play it for a long time anyway, so the cheaper it can drop to, the better.
Aside from that, I keep seeing buzz about that Vampire Survivors game but the super retro look was a bit of a turnoff at first. I actually like a lot of indies with retro graphics but that one seemed very... retro, at first glance. But again, I see so many positive comments that maybe I need to go for it.
Lost Soul Aside seems interesting. Looks Devil May Cry-ish in terms of the combat, kinda? I don't know anything else about it.
Other than that, I was into that Shinobi game, that looks solid. I'm tentatively excited to see more Borderlands 4, the Dynasty Warriors roguelite has my attention also.
But perhaps most importantly, the Onimusha gameplay really caught my eye. Never played the series before but the animations and swordplay there looked really interesting.
Not a FNAF fan and do not like the creator either. I guess he really wants to milk this franchise. Can't say I blame him though, but yeah, I will not be a patron.
Same, sort of. I bought the original (PS5) at launch but wanted to play it again with trophies so I bought the PS4 version like 6-7 weeks ago. Oh well, I don't mind supporting them.
Thing I'm curious about is if the PS+ version will be downloadable on PS5. You CAN'T find it in the PSN store on PS5. I had to buy a physical copy. So I'm curious about that.
US player. Logging in fine, see friends online too. No streaming games available and can't play Marvel Rivals online. So seems fairly bare bones at the moment.
Agreed with this. DMC1 could definitely use a remake to make it more in line gameplay-wise with 3-5. I’m sure some might argue DMC1 stands alone in its more “gothic” feel with the areas and music, etc. (we forget DMC1 was a partially scrapped idea for Resident Evil 4!), so I could understand some people being hesitant to mess with that.
I do think it could get a remake for sure though. But yeah, not sure how you really incorporate Vergil in that without changing the story a bit. Otherwise a prequel to DMC3 would make sense.
Definitely gonna pick up Nine Sols. I heard good things about Superliminal too I think? Anyone able to recommend that? I also heard Soulstice is a good game for people who like Devil May Cry.
So I see this game is making a lot of headlines, and I'm into it. Sounds like the kind of genre I'd be into. Anyone got a "if you like (game), you'll love Kingdom Come Deliverance 2" recommendation?
I've been extremely out of touch with the Fable series since my Xbox gamership started and ended with the original Xbox. All I remember was that game promised a ton of choice, freedom, make your own adventure and it was anything but, and that garnered a bit of criticism for Molyneux at the time.
Like what is a modern Fable game now. Does it gravitate closer to the Witcher or is it still a bit bland?
The DLC not being included feels pretty crappy tbh, especially since I suspect they'll charge full standard price for the base game (I hope I'm wrong). This game isn't "new" either. New to PS sure, but not in general. But whatever. I think I'll definitely check this out when it comes over, but if it's $59.99 or more I might wait.
Might check out High on Life. I don't think I can play the Pac-Man game without being extremely depressed. The original on PS1, my mother played it before she passed away. I would say more but don't want to be a debbie-downer lol.
I have not had a bad time playing ANY of these games. I discovered the series in 2022 and I've played every entry, and earned every single trophy for all of them, including VR!
And yet despite that resounding endorsement I'm probably gonna pick this up a little later. Got so much on my plate at the moment.
I think there's definitely room for some live service projects, but they need to be very sporadic, and more importantly, innovative and unique. Not everything needs to be Destiny, or a COD clone or just a popular property/IP live service-ized.
Despite the failures, it feels like the approach is just "throw ***** at the wall and see what sticks." It's ok if a few fail, but you never know when we'll get another Helldivers 2 on our hands!
I kinda really regret getting the Portal so soon. And I didn't even get it at launch, far from it. But months later the 30th Anniversary came out and now this.
Oh well. I am desperately waiting for Midnight Blue color for DualSenses. My favorite color from the DS4 era.
Oh I am 100% in for a Bleach renaissance. I just signed up for Hulu and am rewatching the original series now. I plan to watch the TYBW arc for the first time as well when I get there (I am skipping the filler arcs though). And then this game launches a few days before my birthday, so I am 100% ready.

Like what is a modern Fable game now. Does it gravitate closer to the Witcher or is it still a bit bland?
Re: Forza Horizon 5 Confirmed for PS5, Out This Spring
The DLC not being included feels pretty crappy tbh, especially since I suspect they'll charge full standard price for the base game (I hope I'm wrong). This game isn't "new" either. New to PS sure, but not in general. But whatever. I think I'll definitely check this out when it comes over, but if it's $59.99 or more I might wait.
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for February 2025 Announced
Might check out High on Life. I don't think I can play the Pac-Man game without being extremely depressed. The original on PS1, my mother played it before she passed away. I would say more but don't want to be a debbie-downer lol.
Re: Sniper Elite: Resistance (PS5) - Much More of a Good Thing
I have not had a bad time playing ANY of these games. I discovered the series in 2022 and I've played every entry, and earned every single trophy for all of them, including VR!
And yet despite that resounding endorsement I'm probably gonna pick this up a little later. Got so much on my plate at the moment.
Re: Next Mass Effect Isn't Going to Be Ready for a Long, Long Time, Suggests BioWare Vet
The Liara teaser was 2020? Feels longer. Anyway, it definitely sucks that it's so far out. Been waiting for this ever since Andromeda was a letdown.
Re: Reaction: Sony's Live Service Push Has Been a Disaster of Utterly Insane Proportions
Re: PS5 Accessories in Midnight Black Up for Pre-Order Now
I kinda really regret getting the Portal so soon. And I didn't even get it at launch, far from it. But months later the 30th Anniversary came out and now this.
Oh well. I am desperately waiting for Midnight Blue color for DualSenses. My favorite color from the DS4 era.
Re: Stylish PS5, PS4 Fighter Bleach: Rebirth of Souls Reveals Story Mode, Combat System, and More
Oh I am 100% in for a Bleach renaissance. I just signed up for Hulu and am rewatching the original series now. I plan to watch the TYBW arc for the first time as well when I get there (I am skipping the filler arcs though). And then this game launches a few days before my birthday, so I am 100% ready.
