A few leaving that I wanted to check out but won't have time, like Destroy All Humans and Moving Out 2 (feel like that one wasn't on the service too long? 8-10 months? idk)
I better finish the Sea of Stars platinum though! Only one trophy left.
For a while, especially in the earlier days, like PS2 to early PS3 era, they were the only ones I trusted for "good" reviews. There were far less publications/websites at that time, and GameSpot and IGN were usually among the top ones gamers used for their reviews. GameSpot reviews had A LOT of controversies over the years, but GI always seemed to be unfettered by any nonsense and felt very genuine.
I have a mild interest in this series. Nothing about it truly blows me away, but nothing is "bad". It's a good rainy day kind of game I guess. Pretty much checks all the boxes in the "decent" area.
I played the first and second though, that's it so far. I'm still annoyed with myself for not knowing the second game had an online trophy that was long discontinued. Oh well.
Also, I wonder who is going to be the spotlight here? My understanding is they did War, Death, and Fury in the three main titles, and Strife got a spinoff game? So maybe finally a group game? Idk.
Do we know if these are just temporary sales? Or is it a permanent price drop? I'm tempted for PSVR2 but I can't justify it right now, even at the lower price.
BL2 was the peak for me so far. I put probably close to 500 hours into that game going back to the PS3 version. All the characters felt so fun and unique.
BL3 by comparison I thought added a lot of good things, with guns, and small QoL updates. But I probably only put like < 200 hours into that. I didn't like it felt like Mayhem really seemed to bottleneck you into only using certain builds, as opposed to the ones you wanted. That may have changed since the last time I played, but I remember for Fl4K the green tree build was the go-to for the longest time.
Anyway, for BL4, I think having some more QoL updates would be helpful, and doing something more impactful with the endgame where it isn't such a grind. Like I know that's the point with looter shooters, but I dunno, it gets tiresome after a while. I liked that BL3 made legendaries drop like crazy, but I don't know if that should be scaled back or not.
Johnny Yong Bosch is the GOAT. Guy gets overshadowed a bit by the Nolan Norths and Troy Bakers of the VA world, but he's great. Ichigo, Nero (Devil May Cry 4/5), and let's not forget, the 2nd Black Power Ranger.
Anyway... two trailers and still no Getsuga Tenshou? Get it together, Bandai Namco.
Minor graphical/framerate hiccups, I can look past. As long as the gameplay feels fun and varied. Being that it's another Ubisoft open world affair, I'm hoping for some stuff that isn't too derivative. I expect side quests, a few collect-a-thons, but hopefully it can steer toward some truly unique experiences that I haven't really had.
Saw a youtube ad the other day that was just replaying parts of the trailer and no gameplay. They are seriously advertising it as a story game, when it has no story whatsoever.
Yeah a lot of minor problems with the wishlist and sales, which on their own are very minor, but add up to be fairly annoying.
Delayed wishlist notifications are annoying, but sometimes I get none at all. Like this latest sale I have some of the games on my list and I didn't get anything.
On the flip side, I've had a weird glitch where I got notifications like every 20 mins.
I played the first one and I'd say it's mostly a fair value for $9.99, but not a must play. The car/parking lot game was probably my favorite since that made you really think and approach it like a puzzle.
Not sure I'd definitely play another, but I'll see what kind of "games" are on this one.
Edit: Forgot to add that the first game strangely was not cross-buy/bundle. I got the PS5 version and it would have cost another $9.99 to get the PS4 version. No thanks. And lastly for trophy hunters, the grind to get coins is a bit annoying but whatever.
Every so often I'm kicking myself because a game I bought on sale ends up on Extra/Premium not long after. So it's always nice when a game I'm thinking about buying ends up on there before I actually pull the trigger.
So if the Remnant 2 leak is true, that's a win for me! Looking forward to it.
As a Bleach fan, I love it, but would like to see more of the gameplay. That felt like a fairly early preview. I hope it will cover the entire story though, including the 1000 Year Blood War. Would honestly be pretty disappointing if it didn't at this point.
Also, not a single Getsuga Tenshou in that trailer? C'mon, what are we doing here?
I think the first game is the most aged one of them all in terms of gameplay and mechanics. This is not necessarily a criticism, because it was truly the pilot game for the Ezio trilogy and beyond. But yeah, bringing that game up to to date with some better visuals, newer gameplay mechanics, maybe even adding an open world outside of the three major cities, that could be fun.
Still have Plucky Squire in my wishlist from when it was first shown off a year ago I think? Still seems like there's no definitive news on when it's actually coming out.
Anywho, I'm starting to like this slowly growing trend of some games being announced just months before they come out. I know it's very hard to keep the cards close to the chest for some of these studios/publishers, but I like it when they do it. Metaphor was just announced at SGF and it's already coming out this year. Starting to see more of that and I hope it continues.
(Me secretly hoping Ghost of Tsushima will finally be announced soon and be coming out 5-7 months later)
Devil May Cry and those specific type of games (Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising, and even the old God of War games have always been favorites of mine.
I was a little concerned at first because parts of the HUD looked souls-like. But even if it's there's only slight inspiration from Souls, this still looks like a game that I can't ignore.
A lot of Americans can't even enjoy it themselves. Scalpers struck again here. I myself spent a few hours debating if I wanted it. By the time I decided, they were all gone on all retailers. People on reddit also reported they went in an instant, which can only mean scalpers and their bots swooped in.
Oh wow! This is a great start! And I want to say that’s the first “classic” Star Wars game to get trophies. None of the others thus far have: Rebel assault II, Phantom Menace, etc.
I was literally just about to ask/comment if the title of this article was implying the other two were NOT getting trophies. If Tomb Raider is getting them, that's a good sign I guess, since that is not strictly a Sony IP. So maybe we'll see more 3rd party games get trophies now, or at least with PS2. Fingers crossed.
This game was a big sleeper hit for me. Loved it so much, especially the boss fights. So if this DLC does not have a true Boss Rush mode, I hope there will be one added in the future.
By the time we get to PS7, dev time for games will be so long that when a new IP comes out, a 10 year old can enjoy it, and then his grandkids will be old enough to play the sequel.
The last trailer really blew me away with how the clothes were rippling and how the ki power up animations looked. Here, I was a tiny bit distracted by some of the faces...
I can't quite put my finger on it, but some of them just seemed off. Caulifla, Gotenks and one or two others just looked odd... like I can't explain it. Something about head/face proportions/spacing. I don't know.
Not trying to sound negative, but again, it just distracted me. Otherwise, this is a must-buy for me I think.
Warriors games are always good "junkfood" games for me. Just shut your brain off and have fun. Really great to do that once in a while. Whatever the gimmick here has me intrigued, so I have my eye on this.
Looks pretty cool but it's not really my favorite genre, so I don't know if it'll be a go-to for me. I was honestly a little let down since the trailer made it seem like a story-based sci-fi adventure. Oh well.
I'm holding out slim hope they'll incorporate trophies for the non-1st party games. The PS2 games they had brought over in the past mostly had them, like GTA, Primal, Siren, and more.
The discourse is so incredibly toxic, it's shameful. For some reason it's really bringing out a few really loud people who are the absolute worst in the gaming community. I've seen similar stuff on FB comments on Ubisoft/Assassin's Creed promo posts.
Besides just some actual racism, some of these babies are saying they won't buy the game simply because Yasuke is a samurai when "there's no historical proof." So what? Why are they dying on that hill when Assassin's Creed has been so anachronistic with so many things in history? Yeah, because Leonardi DaVinci toooooootally invented hidden blades and gave a gliding machine a bomber. Totally. And George Washington had a Native American bodyguard too.
I don't get it, I really don't get it. Even Vidic himself warned Desmond in the very first game not to believe everything he heard/read.
Yeah, I think/hope the version of FFXV Royal I own is the one from the "PS Plus Collection" and afaik, if you redeemed those, you own them. But I guess I'll know for sure in a few weeks. I still have some DLC stuff to finish in that game.
Same here. Obviously we got the four games so far, including Hi-Fi Rush. But before that it was like "Gears of War! Indiana Jones!!" and that didn't turn into anything.
Only played the first level--twice (long story), but loving it so far! Will be a challenging platinum but I think I'm very, very barely getting the hang of the timing on attacks. My 2nd run through the first level I did a lot better on the scores.
Looking forward to this! Apparently this game was very hard to get all the GS on Xbox, one site had it rated 10/10 difficulty. So trophy hunters like myself best be on notice! That said, I plan to have a lot of fun with this, regardless of whether I get all the trophies or not.
Can definitely recommend Prince of Persia. Loved it a lot!
I'm considering The Forest since I heard it was a good survival/crafting game. The horror elements are my main concern. Is it like… sh*tting my pants constantly level or more just constantly on edge level hahaha
Still waiting for Sonic Superstars to drop to $30 or less. Every sale it's never lower than $35. So I guess it'll be a while still.
Also why is Sony still selling Elden Ring standard edition for $59.99? EVERY other retailer has it for $40-$45 and that is not a sale price, that's just what it's been cut down to.
On the one hand, there’s always that “aw man” feeling when a game you bought ends up free, but in the case of Sifu, it was money very well spent.
Sifu was a GOTY contender for me. Loved it so much. There are so few games that hit that perfect blend of challenge and engagement, and I think everyone is a little different, but where ok, I died 15, 20, 40 times, but I feel myself getting better each time. My reactions/timing are better, I’m reading the boss’ attacks better, I got him down to half health, 30% health, ONE hit and I would have beat him—I DID IT! Sifu managed to capture that intensely satisfying feeling of “mastery” where you just felt yourself getting better with practice, and feeling like you really owned a boss.
Like I said, a lot of other games, I would just get frustrated well before that point, lost my patience, etc. Sifu managed to keep me engaged all the way until I felt I had mastered it (or close enough). That satisfaction of dodging a boss perfectly and pummeling them, when hours/days before you were getting destroyed. So few games have pulled that satisfaction off for me. Souls games have done it, but not many others.
I'm a very late adopter to PSVR1 (bought it Jan of 2022) and I've only played about 6-7 games on it so far, with another 5-6 in my backlog. So it'll be a long time before I get onto PSVR2 unfortunately.
One benefit is that maybe there'll be a decent sale. I feel like the high price point is a factor for a lot of people. PSVR1 had a big sale in 2019 for Black Friday I think, so maybe something similar will happen.
YouTube is awful when a big new game comes out. If you use the app like me and swipe the main feed (usually "suggested videos"), you can wind up running into spoilers without warning. People who just want views (or to be trolls) will put spoilers in the TITLE and the thumbnail.
Think I had something from GoW Ragnarok spoiled for me that way. So just a friendly reminder to all with that. Be careful!
I mean to be fair, there are a number of games that have their platinum just called "Platinum Trophy" but as two words. Pretty sure I have a few of them myself. This is the first time I've seen it as one word which yeah, makes it sound like a little bit of laziness went in lol.
Edit: curiosity got the better of me. I have at least 24 platinums that are just called "Platinum Trophy".
The list surprised me. Too many to list but it includes most of the Sniper Elite games, L.A. Noire, SW Battlefront II, Subnautica, Bioshock 1 and Bioshock 2, Battlefield 4, and even Batman: Arkham Asylum.
I really, really enjoyed this game a lot. Totally in favor of additional content. Rare for me to want this, but I actually would love a boss rush mode. They were so fun and creative, and the flashy counterattacks were fun to pull off.
@NarutosBiggestFan yeah I think this was my only real big complaint. The game was very "stop and start"-y because of having to pause and look at the map every 3 seconds. I don't see any reason they could not have implemented a small mini map or something. I also did not play on Guided Mode, but I doubt that would have helped with collectibles anyway.
So I've had an itch for a good Gundam game for a loooooong while now. I played a few of the ones from the PS2 era and mostly enjoyed them.
I feel like most of the contemporary games are more like fighting and/or PVP stuff? Guessing there really might not be any in the style I'm looking for right now.
I tried to play it for the first time last night. A 40 min wait and then a 20 min wait after closing the app and restarting. Neither wait got me in, so it's about what I expected.
As unfortunate as it is, I'm not gonna be mad at the devs. It really was a whirlwind I'm sure. The fact that they're working on it is good enough for me. I'll keep trying here and there and hope for the best, but I'm a patient dude.
Double Post sorry (but it's for a good reason!) but I also NEED to emphasize everyone needs to play Outer Wilds! I just finished it a week or so ago and it was one of the best games I've ever played.
I'm sure it might not literally be for everyone, but it was a great game for those who love exploration and discovery. One of those games where people say "I wish I could erase my memory and experience the story again."
Wasn't Civilization just added a few months ago? My perception of time is really bad but I swear it was added within the last 2-3 months. Actually, Code Vein is also pretty recent too I think?
It's funny because I'd say for the most part, stuff on the service stays fairly long. I'd say the majority of stuff since launch is still on there, with a few exceptions. Stray/Yakuza series stayed maybe almost a year? A few things dropped off after 6-7 months maybe but even that seems rare.
But yeah, this feels like a rarer case of a quick departure, assuming my guess is right.

Just sparing a thought for the devs, it wasn't easy doing this I'm sure. Great work!
It was a relief to get in instantly this weekend. Looking forward to more jolly co-op!
Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Director Makes Final Plaintive Spoiler Plea to Content Creators
Be careful!
Re: Xbox May Need to Familiarise Itself with PS5, PS4's Platinum Trophies
Re: Superb Metroidvania Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown to Get Free Updates
I really, really enjoyed this game a lot. Totally in favor of additional content. Rare for me to want this, but I actually would love a boss rush mode. They were so fun and creative, and the flashy counterattacks were fun to pull off.
@NarutosBiggestFan yeah I think this was my only real big complaint. The game was very "stop and start"-y because of having to pause and look at the map every 3 seconds. I don't see any reason they could not have implemented a small mini map or something. I also did not play on Guided Mode, but I doubt that would have helped with collectibles anyway.
Re: Gundam Breaker 4 Should Be a Return to Form on PS5, PS4 This Year
So I've had an itch for a good Gundam game for a loooooong while now. I played a few of the ones from the PS2 era and mostly enjoyed them.
I feel like most of the contemporary games are more like fighting and/or PVP stuff? Guessing there really might not be any in the style I'm looking for right now.
Re: Xbox Game Hi-Fi Rush Announced for PS5, Out Next Month
Amazing! This was one of the only games I really wanted to see come over.
Re: Helldivers 2 Honcho Suggests Not Buying the Game, Breaks New Records Anyway
I tried to play it for the first time last night. A 40 min wait and then a 20 min wait after closing the app and restarting. Neither wait got me in, so it's about what I expected.
As unfortunate as it is, I'm not gonna be mad at the devs. It really was a whirlwind I'm sure. The fact that they're working on it is good enough for me. I'll keep trying here and there and hope for the best, but I'm a patient dude.
Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium Lose Another Seven Games Soon
Double Post sorry (but it's for a good reason!) but I also NEED to emphasize everyone needs to play Outer Wilds! I just finished it a week or so ago and it was one of the best games I've ever played.
I'm sure it might not literally be for everyone, but it was a great game for those who love exploration and discovery. One of those games where people say "I wish I could erase my memory and experience the story again."
Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium Lose Another Seven Games Soon
Wasn't Civilization just added a few months ago? My perception of time is really bad but I swear it was added within the last 2-3 months. Actually, Code Vein is also pretty recent too I think?
It's funny because I'd say for the most part, stuff on the service stays fairly long. I'd say the majority of stuff since launch is still on there, with a few exceptions. Stray/Yakuza series stayed maybe almost a year? A few things dropped off after 6-7 months maybe but even that seems rare.
But yeah, this feels like a rarer case of a quick departure, assuming my guess is right.
