Re: Aloy Trends As Fans Discuss Horizon Forbidden West Hero

TheDudeElDuderino

Aloy's face was not ok in the first game. They made it unnaturally symmetrical (they literally mirrored one side) but that can be explained within the narrative of the game, given Aloy's origins etc. I found that face to be way deep into uncanny valley.
The new face makes no sense temporally as it looks as if we are back to Aloy's mid teens and not late teen or post teen years. I am not generalising - some people have their mid teen face well into their late twenties but once they are out of that phase, they don't go back. Aloy's face was already out of that stage in Zero Dawn.
That said, and off to totally irrelevant personal appeal, I found her to look more natural, cute actually. Yes, her face is a bit chubby but so what? You try fighting those machines and keeping an eye on your BMI.

To people saying that she looks more masculine, you are not totally wrong, she does a bit, but I didn't hear you cry out in pain when FFVII remake came out and Cloud looked like the sweetest rose. πŸ˜‚

Now, if you'll excuse me, I am busy playing Mass Effect.

EDIT: oh, oh, oh, yes, just to be clear, that suggested look in the tweet is just hilariously wrong. I have nothing against Instagram models and "influencers" but c'mon my man, get out a bit, meet some people.

Re: SnowRunner Keeps on Truckin' with Russian Space Rocket Expansion

TheDudeElDuderino

I get what @Vladspartan is saying. Just enjoy the games for what they are, forget trophies, I am of the same opinion, in my old gamer brain but I also get trophy hunting, I am doing that as well. Vlad, it will help if you think of trophies as top score lists on the old arcades. We played to enjoy the games but we also played for the high scores. Trophies are the new "look I did it!" top score tables. @Sam-Bridges I think Vlad was just using a wrong shorthand for all the words above πŸ˜‡

Re: SnowRunner Keeps on Truckin' with Russian Space Rocket Expansion

TheDudeElDuderino

@ankehuber @LordSteev given the corona times, this was absolutely in the top of my GOTY 2020 list πŸ˜€
The game has a story, recovering areas affected by natural disasters. You accomplish this by completing delivery missions and to accomplish later ones you need better trucks, options for those trucks and equipment. In my mind, this is Death Stranding but with trucks and no BTs 🀣

Re: Lost Judgment Announced for PS5, PS4, September 2021 Worldwide Release Date

TheDudeElDuderino

I like the story of the first one as well as technical quality. Awesome English voice acting. Awesome mini games, awesome brawling. The only thing I hated was the detective "games"... those sucked and were boring af. They want to have more? Meh. What I was hoping for is more Phoenix Wright gameplay, clues collection, courtroom drama, not some secod grade tailing repetitive gameplay.

Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Download Size Is Massive on PS5, PS4

TheDudeElDuderino

@wiiware do yourself a favor and buy a samsung 1TB qvo ssd and an external case for it that supports UASP (e.g. Sabrent Hard Drive Accessory Case Toolless 2.5 Inch SATA to USB 3.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure).
This is the cheapest way to get max performance of an ssd over usb. It will perform superbly on both ps4 pro (not on OG or slim ps4 though!) and ps5 (for ps4 games).

Re: Leaked Document Reveals Xbox's Opinion of The Last of Us 2

TheDudeElDuderino

Let's be real here. It's an internal dissection of a competitor's product done for some internal purpose (e.g. learn what is good and bad about the game, to learn from it etc.).
It's fine that they identified gunplay as not on par with the rest of the game's quality AND they did understand that even so, that gunplay works within the game's narrative. It's ok, quit biting y'all. πŸ˜‚

Re: Returnal Crashes May Be Sony's Problem, Other Bugs Being Investigated

TheDudeElDuderino

@Jimmer-jammer CP fan as well. You can't equalise the two. Crashes in CP were the rule, here they are the exception. But, and this is a big one, although I had probably more than 100 crashes during my playthrough of CP, the game never, NEVER, lost any of my progress (due to its phenomenal save checkpoint system). Crashes in Returnal are heart breaking. But hey, that rogue-lite way is spilling to your real life with that game. You die, you repeat from the beginning. Hahaha
Also, many PS fans playing Returnal who poopooed on xbsx' quick resume feature will understand the awesomeness of it now.

Re: Next PS5 Firmware Update Available to Download Now

TheDudeElDuderino

@SoulChimera I found that since the last update hdmi link finally started working and turning on the tv will turn the ps5 as well (which is something I did not want πŸ˜‚). Maybe your issues are related to those options? You have to check the hdmi options on both ends, maybe you swith to another source and your tv puts the ps5 into rest mode? Just spitballing...

Re: Even Returnal's Fast Travel Animation Is Impressive

TheDudeElDuderino

@Loftimus oh I see. you misunderstood. Well, let me help you, old chap. What I meant was: US has been sticking their nose in everybody's business since they entered WWII. It was a joke, as in, your demand for them to keep out, is hardly gonna cut it with the state of the world.
And here you are, thinking it's a flex, insulting me for no reason. Splendid. Do go on.

Re: Even Returnal's Fast Travel Animation Is Impressive

TheDudeElDuderino

@Loftimus πŸ˜€ well you can't be sure who is coming from where, with vpns and people having us psn accounts, you are never sure, so I can bet you those are not all US voices.
That said, "so maybe they should stfu on this one and leave us to it." has not been the way americans worked since December 8, 1941.πŸ˜‚

Re: Even Returnal's Fast Travel Animation Is Impressive

TheDudeElDuderino

@Loftimus it'll never happen. As long as oil is traded in $. All money is a representation of debt, but the $ represents energy as well. Like in the old days when certain currencies represented gold. New money (crypto) is trying to imbue value into representing data. In any case, as long as the $ represents world's energy transactions, those who control the $ are the empire and the rest are provinciae. And the provinciae always foot up the empire's bill. Thus, the empire's people pay less compared to others.

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying Returnal?

TheDudeElDuderino

@UrbanPlaystation πŸ˜„ well, dude, we found us a great reason to return to this comment section in 6 months πŸ˜‚ let's see together. You could be right, I could be right. Let's just hope the game doesn't end up on ps plus by then πŸ˜‰

Re: Returnal Runs at 60 FPS in Dynamic 4K with Raytraced Lighting on PS5

TheDudeElDuderino

@RaZieLDaNtE hey dude, I appreciate your comment and time. You will be happy to know that I bought Hades on its release (release release, not early access) for exactly the reasons you mentioned and that has been the only rogue-like/lite I like.
If Returnal turns out ot have such a strong story, characters and non repeating script, I will be buying it sooner rather than later. If not, then the arcade splendor can wait for black friday sales.
Cheers and stay safe and healthy.

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying Returnal?

TheDudeElDuderino

@UrbanPlaystation Deamon Souls PS5? Dude, it still has not been six months since it released, but also not every six month period is the same. When Returnal blows that 6 months candles on its birthday cake, we will be damn near black friday period. It will sell for 35 then no doubt about it.
Of course, this will also depend on how well it continues to sell post release. If, by some miracle, it has steady sales throughout 6 months, they will have no reason to reduce the price.
But see what happened to TLOUp2. It sold like gang busters on release and then shrivelled to nothing real quick. Six months after release it was easy to get it 50% off, and 9 months after release it was in the dumpster sales. And that was Sony's biggest exclusive last year. You think Returnal will maintain its price for longer while being a game in the rogue-lite genre? Nah, dude, it's gonna go down like a Vegas **.

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying Returnal?

TheDudeElDuderino

@Jester1701one in six months it will be 50% off. It is very easy to know when to go for a purchase these days with PC digital storefronts (Steam, Origin, Epic), and those for PS and XB.
If a game is your bread and butter and you can afford the price tag, preorder.
If you can wait but are not really frugal, you should be able to jump in 3 months after release for that 25% off.
If you really can wait and want to spend as little money as possible but still play the game while it is still in the zeitgeist, 6 months and 50% off is your friend.
If you REALLY don't care when you are going to get your hands on the game, wait until it inevitably goes down to dirt cheap (e.g. 10 or 15 monetary units).
Other than that, don't buy current gen console until it is close to their end of life (e.g. a year or two before the next one is released) get them dirt cheap and get all those exclusives for next to nothing.

EDIT: exclusion to the rule - always, always be pre-ordering Nintendo 1st party exclusives with shops that offer some discount. You will never be able to get them cheaper πŸ˜‚ (as in, new, not pre-owned).

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying Returnal?

TheDudeElDuderino

@Intr1n5ic people undervaluing other's work? This cannot be! Well, dude, welcome to planet Earth at the beginning of the 21st century. Be sure to remember to value the infinite hours put by others for you to have that water right in your kitchen. Who cares, dude? They make a product, we buy it if we feel like we want/need it. Valuing someone's work is for employers not for customers.

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying Returnal?

TheDudeElDuderino

@Mad-Vampire Β£70 is roughly $97. The same applies for the game's price in EU, €80 which is almost $97. The $70 price tag for US customers is also not really true in most of the states as this is price before tax (which is included in the stated prices for Β£ and € markets). After tax, you are looking at, roughly 10% price increase, so, say $77 which is still nowhere near that highway robbery of $97 that the European (geographical category not political) customers are di** slapped with.

Re: Returnal Runs at 60 FPS in Dynamic 4K with Raytraced Lighting on PS5

TheDudeElDuderino

@vapidwolf thanks dude, but I have issues man, you know, pent up aggression and stuff. I can't risk breaking the dualsense, not at this stage πŸ˜‚
Seriously though, my problem is not repetition, hell, I love repetition, my issue is losing weapons, equipment and capability and having to grind all over for it just to die again soon after getting it all back. Rrrrghhhh no. πŸ˜…

Re: Returnal Runs at 60 FPS in Dynamic 4K with Raytraced Lighting on PS5

TheDudeElDuderino

@Voltan I love Hausmarque and the game looks and sounds amazing, but my hate of roguelikes is much stronger. Nothing is going to change that. You think gamers like me will want to pay $70/Β£70/€80 to play a wonderfully looking and sounding game and have that miserable feeling of having to restart our progress whenever our in-game character dies? No, dude. This is exactly what we hate and no amount of visual, aural or game mechanic splendor will change that. Not touching a roguelike with a 10-foot pole.
I mean, yeah, sure, I'll try it, once it becomes ultra-cheap or comes to ps+ or psnow... and then rage uninstall it. πŸ˜‚

Re: Hands On: Why You Should Be Hyped for Returnal, the Next Great PS5 Exclusive

TheDudeElDuderino

@PhantomMenace84 yes, and as a business, the publisher (not developers) has determined that they will maximize their profit margins by giving up on bigger sales numbers in favor of higher pricing.
How can this be? How are they sure this strategy will play out well? How are they sure they will sell enough to the player base to cover for lost sales?
Easy. They are not. What they do rely on though is that they will sell at higher price point to all that can't resist or don't care. They will get the next bunch later when they slightly reduce the price and then everyone else when they go 50% down.
Good for them.
I choose to be in the "everyone else" group this time around (bought their last game day1).
