EA Sports College Football 25 is really happening. After years and years of patience, the Redwood Shores publisher is finally poised to bring back the pageantry of America’s college game, with many of the schools and mascots you recognise. A full reveal isn’t due until May, but the game’s poised to release this summer, so we suspect it’ll launch in June – especially if Madden NFL’s still slated for its usual August slot.

The exciting thing here is that EA Sports hasn’t had to commit to an annual release schedule, so it’s been able to build the game from scratch and will hopefully innovate on the foundations of its flagship NFL franchise. There’s no gameplay in the teaser trailer above, but we do get a few glimpses of unfinished footage, including stadiums and jerseys. As mentioned, more will be revealed in May, so let’s hope this one lives up to expectations when it finally takes to the field.
