This device sounds more of a joke for home console gaming with every passing day. More so than its original unveiling.

@get2sammyb my points remain on point about all industry in this country, specifically engineering, including software and video games development.

The development constraints of being part of the EU, and education restraints for educating the future engineers and developers working in the UK should be focused on encouraging students at a young age in our education system.

The introduction of the new BBC micro computer into year 7 is a great idea. But school facilities and ethos need to be spurning children on to aspire into degree level and growing our manufacturing and in turn our exports.

A future video game hardware platform from an as yet to be established UK software and hardware team is not an impossibility, and would be better served and better supported with not being part of the EU.

New video game software development teams, supported and built with talent trained and educated in this country would be better for the economy as export, job supply and tax revenue all see an increase from such ventures without trade restrictions in place with the EU, with skilled jobs having quality candidates supplied from this country.

Not spending £350 million a week means there are more options to rebuild our education system and the potential investment into new businesses.

It basically means our tax can be spent on things this country desperately needs to rebuild itself rather than handing it over for free when we really can't afford to in the first place.

@kyleforrester87 the only reason there's a ps4 by my TV is I'm a hur NHL fan.

EA made a move to stop the series on PS3 and continue it on ps4 and Xbox one only. I wouldn't buy an Xbox if my life depended on it; truly the worst consoles ever made. This was strengthened by street fighter v being only on ps4. Everything else I've played on ps4 just isn't worth the money or the time, and in the whole is available on PS3 anyway and plays exactly the same.

The ONLY VR that will have any legs are the oculus goggles sat next to the 20-60 year old guys PC who has an active sub to sites like NaughtyAmericaVR.

VR has no mainstream, mass market viability in gaming. FPS & FPSMMORPG yes, but that is way smaller than even a niche market in the gaming industry. It is not worth the £350+ additional investment to your £400 console AND the ridiculous setup you have to do to get it to work. Your nice sleek tidy PS4 is going to look like its hooked up on life support as soon as you plus in your PSVR.

It may be happening because Uncharted 4 showed Naughty has literally ran out of anything new they can do with the Uncharted franchise.

If they can't come up wth something new beyond that, why not jump on the redux/remaster band wagon and spit shine a retro classic???

The game itself is one of the most solid games on PS4 and is certainly the best street fighter game in history, if not a contender for best fighting game yet.

The initial lack of content for single player is irrelevant when assessing the quality of the game.

I'd rather have it now and get the updates free as they are developed as opposed to waiting a further 6 moths till it was all finished or releasing a full version that is full of bugs and flaw back in March.

Most certainly should be in top 3 of PS4 at worst, even if beat-em-ups are not your cup of tea, there is no compromise on assessing the level of quality put into this game and how solid the mechanics and engines are.

@ReDiR my list of games is the same list of top ten from the article, with my comment on their appearance in said top ten. My point is, most of those games are not "top anything" material, let alone sufficient to produce an all time top ten list.

@Dodoo reacting to the competition is normally the quickest way to make a loss. Making an innovative and beneficial change is where profit lies.

The Xbox one would still be where it is now if ps4 was later. If ps4 was later it may have had time to develop a point of it being released in he first place.

As an example, Nintendo have not released in sync with their competitors for nearly 20 years, some with success some with significantly less.

Researching and developing how to push the industry forward should be the corner stone of any console manufacturer, not they got one we need to one.

The PS3 was songs best console so far, they nailed a lot of things that were successful. Ps4 doesn't even expand on them, it's the same console but more powerful. And now Sony are already subverting the ps4, almost confirming they brought it out too early.

Street fighter v being released as it was and it being constantly updated for the next & months.... The PS4 is the hardware equivalent of that

Same as resident evil 2 wasn't (PlayStation wise) it's a joke that resident evil 4 is in there. Resident evil 4 was a GameCube game and was better on GameCube. PlayStation got a port way after the original release of the game.

I still stand by that the PS4 was an unnecessary generation. Look how little it features in that top 25 all time for one. It was too early, not required and bro By very little to the table over PS3 except now we have to pay to play online. Brilliant improvement for the consumer there.

They should have looked to a 2016/2017 release to include 4K and VR. Not a halfway measure as a money maker till they could be bothered making a true successor to PS3.

ridiculous. This is seriously one of THE best games on PS4 and probably a contender for the best quality game on PS4.

Admittedly it had a low amount of accessible content at launch, but I'm guessing that was so not to keep suffering delays.

The other method would be to give you a two month Beta before a full launch.

@Sanquine that must be it. I have 7-19 MBps running on an Alienware laptop. Definitely not the computer at fault, must need some ridiculous bandwidth to make the connection.

Just because Microsoft were thieving jokes and the 360 even worse, doesn't mean Sony had to turn on their user base. They already offered the premium service and left it to the choice of the user without restricting the basic provision of the console.

To then restrict something they originally provided as an integral part of their console to force people to pay for a mediocre subscription is disgusting.

Nintendo always said they wouldn't not venture into online gaming unless they could do so without charging their user base. They've stuck to that from its inception and they are to be commended for it.

Sony however? Quite the opposite.

I think the whole thing is disgusting, pointless, theft and a pile of garbage.

PS3 had the same scheme EXCEPT, it didn't affect how you used your machine.

PS3 I could access the store, try demos, download games, play online, communicate with players and use all the services.
If I paid for PlayStation plus, I got greater discounts come sale time, and a "free" (actually a rental) game.

PS4: I literally get nothing and my console is useless with no online features unless I submit and pay for the plus service that I don't want which they justify by saying I get £1000 worth of software a year; no I don't, I own none of it as it is locked out should I not renew my plus subs.

The best thing for PS3 over 360 was they didn't restrict online play and you could laugh at 360 players scrabbling over codes for 1-3 months subs from pre-owned games like crack heads routing in bins. Now Sony has followed suit and extorts its players into paying for something they originally got for free.

Now the only true online console is the Wii U which has unfortunately failed in every other manner.

Hopefully NX sticks to true online gaming and maybe realises what theiving parasites they are and unlocks online play without the requirement of needing their crap "plus" subscription.

PlayStation 4 in its itself was totally unnecessary, never mind a 4.5 or even mentioning a PlayStation 5!!!!

The PS4K/PS4.5 is purely Sony being very unsure and very wary of the Nintendo NX and how it could be perceived as a generation above PS4 by General consumers and they don't want to lose their crown.

This bodes well for Nintendo as this just stinks of Sony having real concerns over the looming NX

I think the most impressive record on there is a Wii U game making an appearance in the UK top 10!

Doubley so as it's the only title on there that is first party to the console of release and as such an exclusive title. Everything else on there is third party and multi format. A massive well done to Nintendo in the UK.

@ShogunRok To be fair though, this game is 100% based on current source material and bears no relevance on the 90's cartoon. Reporting on a game and not informing people of this and implying it is a nostalgia based game is just misinforming people.

fans from the last three decades will all be interested in this game by default, however, those unaware of the actual turtles source material may be quite shocked by how different it is
