Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pops Out of the Sewers This May on PS4, PS3

Shinobi1Kenoby

WHY does this constantly keep getting reported as a nostalgia game!!!????

it is a complete translation of the current IDW published Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic, currently up to issue 55! It has nothing to do with the film, it has nothing to do with the 80's or 90's/00's or current cartoon series or even the films.

It follows the new lore of TMNT where splinter is actually the turtles father, all five started off human and mutated. the fights are violent and end badly quite frequently. Bebop and Rocksteady are violent psychopaths.

The art style is directly lifted from the current comics and it looks amazing http://www.idwpublishing.com/product/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-vol-6-city-fall-part-1/

Given how Platinum handles this kind of game and given the ACTUAL source material, this game has potential to be amazing.

Re: PS4 Remains the Best Place to Play, Says Sony

Shinobi1Kenoby

I totally agree. However it's the first generation where the prominent position has been achieved by default and not of any real merit to the leading format.

By and large the PS4 has not bright anything new to the table this generation. We have further sequels of already successful franchises from PS3 and "remasters" of existing PS3 games. You could almost own a PS3 and not really have missed very much by not owning a PS4.

PS4 had been such a success due to all of its competition being steered by utter incompetence.

The XBox One is appalling and never stood a chance.

The Wii U, not really a competitor but again, the only other option and it has failed catastrophically on every level.

Neither of these will change.

I own a ps4 and okay it more than any other format. The only interesting test of how good the format is when a real competitor in the form of Nintendo NX is unveiled and shows exactly what it is trying to achieve. Then the market shares may change drastically.

Sounds ludicrous on paper but don't forget what Ninyendo has previously achieved on previous formats and what it is eternally capable of. Massive missteps and failure, but also resounding and market leading success.

Enjoy the effortless domination at the moment Sony. A pivotal moment is pending in the next twelve months that will either seal your position this generation, or make you really hard to keep it and prove it.

Re: Review: Call of Duty: Black Ops III - Awakening (PS4)

Shinobi1Kenoby

Unless this DLC overwrites and completely replaces the controls, mechanics, level design and basically re engineers the entire game; it is highly likely that this DLC is as crap, or worse, than the main game. Worst CoD ever and THE worst multiplayer game over ever played in my life.

2/10 would be too generous

Re: Review: Call of Duty: Black Ops III (PS4)

Shinobi1Kenoby

@get2sammyb

Sorry.

I keep trying it, leave it a while, come back to it and try and get a fresh perspective...... but without a shadow of a doubt, this game is GARBAGE.

Blacks Ops II was miles better than this.

The play mechanics are non-existent, the speed is ridiculous and takes away any real strategy. It's more like Quake III Arena but worse.

The weaponry is a joke and is just entirely unplayable and not enjoyable on any level. The multiplayer is dominated by seasoned pro's who are then rewarded for killing so much? So the people slayed relentlessly at the bottom for their inexperience are then kicked while they are down by handing all the uber weaponry to the killers!? How is that balanced, Surely a blue shell to man at the back strategy like in MarioKart would create a more balanced game as opposed to spawn - dead, spawn - dead, spawn - dead, spawn -......nobody around, walk ten feet, 5 giant steel spiked balls of death turn the corner in front of me or a airborne battle ship with a napalm payload aimed at me are my reward for dying so much and for bothering to try and stay in the competition.

Tired of multiplayer, try the campaign......... turn off, turns out that wasn't worth the price of entry either.

The game is a total joke, designed for talentless kids dependent on repetitive twitch gameplay. DO NOT BUY IT.

Words cannot express how much I regret spending £60 on this trash, would rather have bought 100kg of birdseed with that money and bent over as a self modified bird feeder. That would probably have just been slightly more fun that booting up this "game"

EDIT: I don't think I'm too bad actually, how would I go about being able to write reviews for this site?

Re: Apple's Assembling a Secret Virtual Reality Division

Shinobi1Kenoby

@adf86 your friend would "watch" you play a game from a second screen!!!??? That sounds......... God awful boring and about as appealing as a turd milkshake.

Most play on their own or online with others. I don't mean social with the other players I mean social with the world immediately around you. Somebody else walks in the room talking to you while you're "in you're world" that would be weird and disorientation, II want to take a drink or quick snack while you play, how the hell to do that? You need a whizz, that ain't happening and your eyes having to jump in and out to that extreme while you are always involved in your immediate environment is awful.

A demo session where you are prepared and settle in, play for 30 minutes, remove the helmet discuss with the people in the booth about your experience and leave; that's amazing.

Contemplating he logistics of how you would actually use this equipment permanently for the long term; it isn't happening. Seriously.

As a show piece it is stunning.
Common use domestic application. It's flat.

Re: Apple's Assembling a Secret Virtual Reality Division

Shinobi1Kenoby

@get2sammyb I agree. I really cannot see VR being integrated into gaming except for a small niche for a finite run until it is not financially viable. Like every attempt in the last.

The quality of the experience improves every time, but each time, at the time, it was ground breaking and nothing like anything before so that point is moot as it is a matter of relativity, not viability.

The reason VR fails in gaming everytime is because it 100% removes you from the world around you. It closes you off from the world and is no longer a form social of social entertainment, it is very insular and anti-social.

It is sensory-depriving and can be very I enjoyable for a lot of people. It does deliver a very integrating experience to a high standard I have no doubt, but the overall dynamic does not fit the social ethos of why people are motivated to play video games.

Apply this to simulators, architectural modelling, medical application and mental health applications for the blind (before anybody laughs at this read this that happened recently http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1372912/Pictured-Moment-blind-grandfather-grandson-time-futuristic-glasses-connected-electrodes-eye.html ) creating a virtual world for visual rehabilitation would be a phenomenal use of this technology. Turning on a PS5 for a 5 hour stint on warcraft? Won't happen and it WILL screw your eyes.

Re: EA Withdraws from E3 2016 Showfloor

Shinobi1Kenoby

A better way to change public perception would be to stop developing utter garbage games and annual re-iterations of barely changed games for £60 a pop and then (as much as they claim they don't) stop fixing the ultimate team card distribution to coerce players to spend more actual cash on something so worthless - micro transaction distribution drifting toward extortion, and it needs to stop).

They also need to lose all sports IP rights. The have a monopoly on all sports and it's showing a strong stale presence. Does monopoly regulations not apply to this type of thing? I love a sport? I HAVE to buy EA year in year out, who develop rubbish and charge top asking price! How is that a fair and competitive market?

Re: Here's a Better Look at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Art Style on PS4

Shinobi1Kenoby

@themcnoisy Love cartoons, I just think arguing over them makes people our age look a bit ridiculous.

Nothing wrong with FMA, but haven't watched any anime for YEARS wife and kids not really into them yet. The boy watches Turtles and Pokémon and that's closest I get really haha.

Used to watch Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Crying Freeman and Ninja Scroll loads about 15 years ago. Never got into Full Metal Alchemist or Neo-Evangelicon -whatever-it-was.

Re: Here's a Better Look at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Art Style on PS4

Shinobi1Kenoby

@themcnoisy 😩

I'm not even getting into that pointless debate of "what I think is the best is better than what you think is the best" I'm a 34 year old man, and according to your profile; you're 35. That kind of pathetic argument outstayed its welcome in playgrounds over two decades ago for us surely; especially over a cartoon!?

My discussion point is that the IDW comics is the best source material for basing a TMNT video game on. To suddenly say something else is better is just completely irrelevant.

"Platinum Games are making a new turtles video game." The fact you think Full Metal Alchemist is better does not matter in the slightest, don't you agree? You like FMA, you love FMA, that's wonderful. Not really a comment that has any away on how a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game being developed will turn out though is it?

Have you even read the new TMNT comic? You never know, you might like it, you obviously like anime and you obviously liked turtles at some point in your life. I'm presuming you haven't read it as you stated that a rat raised baby turtles which has nothing to do with the IDW comic run, only the cartoon series, which as you say, is aimed at children; of course it is. It's intended as children's entertainment and to sell merchandise to said demographic, doesn't mean you're not allowed to enjoy. TMNT had a resurrection for me as my boy became a fan of the new incarnation of it and I got to enjoy it all over again. Started reading the new comic and found I was actually very impressed.

Hence, making a game based on the new comic is a genius step and has a strong foundation for building an awesome TMNT experience, given the source material being used; versus the Ubisoft games based on the Nickelodeon cartoon series.

Re: Here's a Better Look at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Art Style on PS4

Shinobi1Kenoby

@themcnoisy that's just a totally childish statement.

Rocksteady and Bebop battering Donatello until finally Rocksteady crushes Donnie's skull with a sledgehammer and murders him is hardly a storyline for babies. Had to "edit" that issue when reading it my son who loves the turtles.

We re not talking 18 rated cartoons for the sake of being 18 rated, what has garbage like alchemist got to do with turtles anyway? totally different concept.

My point is that the Turtles was a kids cartoon in the 80'/90's, those who only remember that show run from when they were kids and were huge turtle fans would be well serviced by the new more matured comic incarnation by IDW.

To just rip on something with no idea about it just seems weird, and then try and one-up it with something irrelevant is just pathetic. This is turtles, a discussion about turtles and how it has developed. Not turtles is major hardcore and better than anything else, that's just immature. If the discussion was "Turtles enters hardcore anime arena and is best thing ever" then I can see (sort of) you getting wound up by that. ut you point as it stands is completely without point.

Did you previously like turtles and still enjoy animation? you would have a good chance of liking this game based on a part of the turtles franchise that has the most meat.

Did you never like turtles and hate animation? don't read it/ play it and shut up.

Neither of these camps? why even open your mouth?

Re: Here's a Better Look at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Art Style on PS4

Shinobi1Kenoby

@JoeBlogs
Was always Leo for me in 1990. Think it was swords, and blue sold me.

Since the new animated series and comics, I think Mikey is a great character. Genuinely has me cracking up in the cartoon, some brilliant script. But his character in the IDW comic is the most balanced and interesting.

Leo kicks way more ass in the comic too, seriously bad. Technically better than Raph and as powerful, just way more controlled. Totally different character from all other iterations of his character and painted more as a genuine leader.

Casey Jones is also amazing in the comic along with Rocksteady as the stand out villain, with Slash and Hob as great anti-heroes.

Re: Here's a Better Look at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Art Style on PS4

Shinobi1Kenoby

Looking at the screens' I can't believe how amazing this game looks, the screenshots look like they were literally lifted straight off the comic book pages fm from IDW!

looking closer at the bebop and rocksteady screen I can indeed see that I had previously typed a spoiler apologies.

Wasn't my fault though. It's a scene from a comic last year so not really a spoiler unless you are about to play a game 100% based on an awesome comic you've never read????

Wait...... didn't Avengers Assemble enter the top ten all time movie gross and the comic came no where near that???????

Re: Here's a Better Look at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Art Style on PS4

Shinobi1Kenoby

It's 100% the art style from the current IDW comic series.

Which is awesome by the way. If you like Ninja Turtles and don't buy and read this......... what the hell is the matter with you.

Donnie was MURDERED by Rocksteady and his huge hammer in 2015, but was resurrected in the body of Fugitoid.

Leo Joined Shredder and became evil.

Buy the comic, buy this game. Best storylines for Ninja Turtles ever. Batman / TMNT cross over soon (if not now)

Awesome story lines

Re: 23 PS3 Classics Stream to UK PlayStation Now Service

Shinobi1Kenoby

I think the service is ****
I own ALL the PS3 games I want to play paid in full and digital licence sat on my PS3 in the same psn account I use on my ps4.

Why the hell should I have to pay any subscription to enable me to play them on ps4!???? I must have paid out around £1,000 over the last 7 years in software as a random guess for over a terrabyte of games. This is ignored and they want a further £13 a month to "rent" then back!???

Get lost Sony.

Re: PS5 Could Launch as Early as 2019, Reckons Analyst

Shinobi1Kenoby

There was literally no need for this generation to arrive when it did. 2014/15 would been a better target year.

Ps4 arrived and the actual "generational leap" has been evidence as barely sod all except for exactly the same console with shinier graphics and a "share" button. This gen has brought nothing new.

To supersede this is only 3 years from now is just retarded. The only thing that would conjure such a colossal premature ejaculate is if the NX finds a foothold and starts taking back Nintendo's share of the market.

Sony should not even think of releasing new hardware this side of 2020. If they do, I wouldn't be buying one till year 3 after its release. There would literally be no point and you'd have another Sony console with nothing to play on for the first 18-24 months except for remasters of games you already have on your ps4.

Furthermore, Sony don't profit on hardware. The hardware gives them an installed username to which they can sell software from which they claim a licence from the developers. The higher the user base the huger the profit return on software licence. If they get 100,000,000 users to offer as customers to developers from which they would make a fortune in licences. Why would would they render that obsolete so soon???? Makes no sense, technically, financially, logically or morally.

Re: PSN Down Just Days into 2016

Shinobi1Kenoby

It's stuff like this that utterly ruins trying to keep getting your daily bonus rewards on EA sports Ultimate Team modes and takes a week to get back where you were in your reward program and loses you over 1,000 currency on a daily basis

Re: Soapbox: Why I Love Shenmue

Shinobi1Kenoby

The Shenmue series is literally one of the greatest games ever made and in my personal all format top ten and will be forever. It ranks up there with other legendary titles such as the Ocaina of Time for N64.

I sincerely hope I and II see a port onto PS4 prior to 3 being released. I backed Shenmue III to the tune of £100 I have so much faith in Yu Suzuki and respect for the Shenmue franchise. I cannot wait for this game.

Re: Review: Call of Duty: Black Ops III (PS4)

Shinobi1Kenoby

@get2sammyb
This game is pathetic and whilst dependant an a minimal and a map that is initially the size of a postage stamp any way and has a max of 12 players! The map is too small for 12 players as it stands! Why the hell would you need a minimap apart from if you're a retard!? This game boils down to watching an 8-bit 2 d screen in the corner of your tv an responding in line with. No skill, no anything and utterly pointless.

Re: Soapbox: Why PlayStation VR Has Me Cautiously Optimistic

Shinobi1Kenoby

@SonyInfinity I never asked or stated anything like that, I think you've replied to the wrong person. Also, a response from @themcnoisy pretty much sums up how pointless it would be to watch a movie on goggles. Theatre mode goggles have been around for 15 years. They were pointless then, they are pointless now. Zero selling point and also name gates any social aspect of enjoying films together
