It's time people stopped looking at games and saying "oooooo, this game looks amazing!" With no concern for gameplay or anything beyond Kratos' new real beard.

Looking a bit deeper and realising you are being given exactly the same game you got last year, it just looks nicer, would see a lot of scores starting to fall.

The state of games on PS4 since its launch is starting to slowly feel like Atari in the early 80's, its just modern graphic engines are good at hiding mediocre and plageurised game mechanics from people who just simply love stretchy suits, cut scenes and lush beards.

You want top visuals? Buy a bluray movie, you want a long and rewarding interactive experience??? But a video GAME!!! Not a graphical sizzle reel dispersed inbetween uninspired and repeated gameplay.

Really!!!? I genuinely thought this looked the most boring and uninspired game of any format shown at E3.

Had a lot of hope for this and was genuinely looking forward to it. After E3, I have literal zero interest in it. Would not even download this if it showed up as free on ps+ game for the month after its release

@dark_knightmare2 horizon isn't won anything. Uncharted 4 was a good game but was the same as 3, 2 and 1 where 2 was the best in the series and bloodborne won game of the year in the category of "PLAYSTATION game of the year" so something on PS4 has to win. Just so happened that the year, the best PS4 had to offer, for that particular awarding body, was bloodborne.

Any other amazing genre defining and highly creative games??

@FullbringIchigo Couldn't agree more on the Double Metroid announcement, definitely the show stealer this year.

I was excited for Spider-Man........ till I saw it running in-game at this E3 and then yawwwwwwned after realising it was infamous in a Spider-Man suit.

Half excited for God of War as was a huge fan of one and two, bored of 3 and ascension. Thought this might revitalise the IP a little. It didn't for me.

Wanted a lot more out of Sony this year apart from further evidencing they are less and less about games and more and more about monopolising the market and ramming advertising campaigns in peoples faces.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not needlessly hating on Sony. I played PS3 though it's whole lifespan, I have 2 PS4s in my house that are played daily. I'm just bored to hell of the zero range of quality titles on PS4 and total lack of originality, sequels for the sake of sequels that are into the 10th and 20th itteration cause they really have no creativity to deliver a good interactive experience, just the same old tired formula hidden behind modern graphics.

PS4 is the worst platform Sony have done yet and is essentially a graphical upgrade of the PS£, which was their best hardware. They really should have looked at delivering something more like the Switch this gen and invested more in first party software R&D for new and creative games.

This is the same game as the previous games. Not interesting at all. The only PS4 game that looked interesting is the EA prison break game.

Don't get me wrong. This looks very nice. However, if nice looking things are what I was buying I'd buy wall art.

What I want is a good game. A strong interactive experience. God of War 5, is the same game as 4, 3, 2 and 1 and truth be told this franchise topped out with 2 which was brilliant. Then Santa Monica filed to do anything new for the next 3 games.

These companies keep doing this, Assassins Creed is another good example. 2 was phenomenal... then it all got very VERY boring.

Stop developing [enter stale franchise title here] 5, 9 and 16!!! Stop doing remakes!!!! Stop hiring 3D artists and start hiring developers and designers!!!!

@dark_knightmare2 F-Zero invented the genre with F-Zero and perfected it with F-Zero X which still stands today as the best anti grab game ever made. Nintendo have no made and F-Zero game since.

But no matter how many attempts Wipeout make to copy F-Zero, some iterations have been good but it has still never bettered it.

@adf86 you wouldn't get remasters now as the games that are out now would have had the same development window as they have had.

NEVER in history has so many "remasters" been released in the launch window of a console. Infact across its entire lifespan. Serve as nothing else as library padding to make it look like here's more choice than there really is.

I already said and agreed that graphical advancements are minor and take longer for BIG noticeable changes. What this should mean is that your console has a longer lifespan and the next generation adds something to the industry beyond "better graphics".

Any talk of PS5 for he next several years is beyond premature, but will happen as the PS4 was so premature, it will now have set a precedent to satiate a demand that isn't really there, until they generate it though the power or marketing and advertising.

Where the only "offering" is graphical, then hardware really should have an even longer lifespan in this day and age. Unless it has something completely revolutionary to offer like the Switch.

It would be pointless to see the Switch 2 or PS5 for at least another 8-10 years from now as there will be NOTHING in the way of an affordable graphical "leap" until then, (except maybe the Switch as mobile technologies seems to be advancing faster) Unless they find a real reason to release a new console, which Sony never do. If PS5 is here before 2023 then it is way too early.... again

But I agree, MegaDrive had one of the best libraries and better than dreamcast. And by default genesis/megadrive is better than PS2. In terms of hardware though and new innovative and "leap" defining features. The dreamcast was better than genesis and PS2

SNES-to-N64 was a HUGE leap.

PS3 - Uncharted 2 was unarguably STUNNING.
PS4 - Uncharted 4 looked like a nicer Uncharted 2.

The lack of games and constant remasters for 2 years; the heat, the noise, the broken disc ejectors and the "PRO edition" state nothing else but confirm PS4 was rushed to market before perfecting it.

@playstation1995 the PS3 was Sony's best, but all it really did was copy the Dreamcast which was a far better console. Just had zero support due to the amazing internally combative leadership at a Sega

I still think the PS4 was a pointless half step up from PS3.

We've had to endure 3 years or remasters/reduxes/re-release garbage with very little original or inspired new content.

PS4 would have made more sense reading this year, toward Christmas. They released way too early and went too long offering nothing more than a shinier PS3. The PS3 was awesome and a far better console, the PS4 is just a cash cow and brings nothing to the table for gamers.

You have my sincere condolences PS3.

PS4..... land of the re-mastered/re-make/re-hash Playstation has always stood as the hub for everything is a sequel but this is getting ridiculous now.

Should probably expect The Last of Us re-re-mastered next year now.

Don't mistake me as a Nintendo fanboy. I've played Playstation since 1998 and PS4 is THE most boring generation they've offered yet. Bored of it, tired of it, want something fresh and actually interesting.

Nintendo Switch does that in spades. I'm a sucker for NHL and PS4 is the better format over Xbox. Beyond that, there's shenmue to finally look forward to. Everything else is a sequel of a sequel of a sequel with nothing fresh, Playstation has been this way for too long now.

Had this have included wipeout, wipeout 2097 and wipeout 3 won original soundtracks I'd have been tempted. But bringing back and adding chemical brothers and prodigy back into this mix is a definite plus..... alas.... F-Zero this still ain't.

@banacheck wasn't fussed for kingdom hearts 1 or 2, why would I be on bated breath for kingdom hearts 3. But yeah you're right, that mario odyssey looks REALLY bad.... haha.

Marvel Vs Capcom should be good, will religiously buy NHL 17 in September like usual and the roll out of new DLC on street fighter v this year, otherwise on PS4 for the whole year, I'm good.

Best thing you can do after watching suicide squad is waych fight and watch Jared Leto get annihilated by Ed norton. What was originally a very uncomfortable scene to watch mysteriously becomes cathartic and quite rewarding to watch

This game however, looks dull and crap.

Was interested when it was first unveiled. Since then I've seen and played 100s of new games and this game has fallen passed boredom into indifference and I really don't care about it in the slightest.

I watch the trailers and game plays videos for it and I find it boring and switch off before the end of the video normally.

I've played PlayStation since tekken 3 and metal gear solid on PlayStation. My opinion is Sony is tired and the PS4 is the single worst entry in their hardware history they have ever "designed".

Given that the new Xbox actually IS a smaller version of the huge original Xbox one, I can see original owners opting for it.

Given the slim PS4 is barely smaller than a standard PS4 .... where's the point. Admittedly it's a lot slimmer than the PS4 pro, but so is my car to be honest.

Sony have done appallingly this generation and basically done gaming a dis-service. un-inspired hardware, zero innovation and they have turned the home console hardware market into the 90's PC graphic card market.

Every gen ALWAYS brought something new to add to the experience and take it a leap forward, warranting you abandoning your 5-7 year hardware and library you'd built up and diving into newer and fresher waters.

This gen, Sony have offered a baby step forward and re-bagdged it as a new generation, left it for 2 years then given you a slightly smaller version and wondered why you're not buying it. Then they've upgraded the original hardware already.

Sony are a hardware selling machine and have no insight or rightful position in the gaming industry. Sega are and we're appalling, but their hardware was driven by a desire to deliver the software and pushing new boundaries, similar Nintendo. Sony and Microsoft have not got a clue and just keep ramming boxes full of PC hardware, blasting you with advertising campaigns and then gleefully watching the money rolling in.

The souls has literally drained from video games over the last 10 years and is approaching the same standard of pop music. 90's saw bands like Metallica and smashing pumkins in the top ten, artists. Now you see the same ten manufactured crap over and over.

Great!!! I've inly just got to 7th day of logging into HUT on NHL to get my daily pucks up to 1250 a day. That will thankfully now reset back down to 0 as will have missed my 24 hour window.
