Re: Hands On: Crimson Desert Runs Well Enough on PS5 Pro, But What About That Intro?

SBBuds

Seems alright but the first puzzle quest in the abyss seems a little obscure. Already feels like a YouTube game as in I will have to look up how to do the majority of the puzzles and I hate that in a single player game. I got through the floor and put the floaty square disc against the wall but nothing seems to happen and I hate having to look things up, especially in the first few hours. I'll give it more time later but cba'd right now. Gunna jump back on the excellent Marathon someone already mentioned xD (so salty) and try it again later. If it ends up being a YouTube game I'll be pretty disappointed. Removes any sense of achievement or fun for me when I have to watch other people solve in game stuff for me. Shame though, I was kinda really enjoying it.

Re: Round Up: Crimson Desert Reviews Are a Major Disappointment

SBBuds

Don't really care, I bet I've bought worse games this year. KCD2 which ppl on here seem to love was for me awful, Dragons Dogma 2 also awful so I should like this game. Story driven cinematic campaigns aint for me and the graphics can't be as bad as Avalon which I also bought this year xD Going in Blind as per usual so not watched any vids, looking forward to tomorrow when I finish work. Only £55 lol.

Re: Review in Progress: Marathon (PS5) - Bungie's Extraction Shooter Is Brilliant, and It Only Gets Better

SBBuds

Great review, there's no way it will get a bad review anywhere, it's that good and polished. I'm loving the game. Performance, graphics, gameplay, PvE, PvP, depth and quality in every department, lore, the lot. There's not a category it fails in. It really is that good. I didn't think anything could better Arc especially so soon but this game has. Both are great games in their own right but Marathon has blown me away. I hope for MP gaming sake that other MP fans give it a fair go and put aside their unwarranted (in my opinion) prejudice for this game. You're missing out on so much.

Re: 'We're Discussing Ways to Improve': Marathon Dev Tweaking Monetisation and Difficulty as FPS Fails to Blow Up

SBBuds

Well I'm loving it, its one of the most solid, polished and genuinely fun games I've played. Even more so than Arc tbh, actually prefer it, I struggle to stay engaged in Arc, it feels far to easy and casual now. Almost no interest in Arc ATM, I just play it to try and get ready for the next expedition as I don't want to fall behind. That's my only incentive when I play Arc. The numbers suggest to me at least that Marathon will go free to play if the numbers don't pick up. I've read many people say that they are waiting for reviews before they buy and I'm sure it will get positive reviews so maybe that will help.

Re: Site News: Where's Our Marathon PS5 Review?

SBBuds

80k isn't terrible, it has plenty of variables as well. Marathons release time isn't ideal straight after Arc, extraction shooter are already a niche audience and Arc has done amazingly well, like I already said, not many people will have time or the appetite to start another extraction shooter this quickly after Arcs launch. 86k isn't great but it isn't terrible either, even compared to Highguard as that was F2p.

Re: Site News: Where's Our Marathon PS5 Review?

SBBuds

It'll be tough for the game as many people will be heavily invested into Arc and won't have time for another extraction shooter. Personally I think it's pretty damn good and will certainly get hundreds of hours out of me.

Re: Highguard Permanently Shuts Down on 12th March

SBBuds

Because it sucked, live service is fine but the F2P market needs to die. Glad this failed. Marathon is going to be absolutely fine, all you need to do is look at the top 20 most played wherd live service dominates but hey, who cares about facts. Or look at the most played this year, or last year, or the year before that, or the year before that or.....the last ten years and beyond....

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for March 2026?

SBBuds

I think it's one of the best months for a while, Slime Rancher was on my list to buy, I loved the first but never played it on GP because it was early access and left when it was full release. MH Rise is good also, the other two I'm not interested in. The last game I played and enjoyed off of any of the subscriptions was V Rising, since then it's been crap for me personally. Doubt I'll play any if them though, I pre ordered Marathon and I'll be getting Crimson and there's another game on the 24th I'll be getting (forgot the name) an open world survival that looks good. Gonna be a busy boy. Also there's Arc, what a time to be alive.

Re: Opinion: Sony's Disgraceful Bluepoint Closure Should Concern Every PS Studios Fan

SBBuds

Lol, it's only places like these that live service is hated, you only need to look at the most played on EVERY platform bar Nintendo to see that live service games are the most popular by a huge margin. Sony need to make live service games, they just need to make good ones. Shame for Bluepoint but whatever, life goes on and tbh I couldn't really care less. I didn't even know who Bluepoint was until this 'shocking' news and I'd bet at least 90% of gamers didn't either. No skin off my nose, I have plenty of good quality games to play and I'm looking forward to a good few that are coming out in the next couple of months.

Re: Sony Will Offset Soaring RAM Prices by Further Monetising PS5 Players

SBBuds

Sp games don't generate money, Arc has shown the AAA market how to do it. Hopefully Marathon will follow suit, make a decent game and don't try and overcharge for everything and people will play, and pay. Arc has embarrassed the AAA bigwigs saying that games will have to be priced at £100 just to make money. They have been proven wrong.

Re: There's No Stopping Multiplayer Sensation ARC Raiders, Reaches 14 Million Copies Sold

SBBuds

Great game, still play it every night. Looking very forward to Marathon now as I've heard it has a solo queue which is my thing. Tbh I probably would have bought it at launch even without it but me and my mate prefer solos. There are others I can recruit but I just don't like their wingey attitude, it's always the blame game when we die instead of just accepting it's part of the game, to old for all that drama. Love AR though, it's a breath of fresh air the MP gaming community needed.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 618

SBBuds

Arc mostly, 401 hours topside but time played is something silly like 700 hours 😉 last I looked which was today, love it. On the last boss of Mandragora, need to grind some levels to beat that, very tough boss and just started Absolum, not a bad game. Dashings of Bf6 to mix things up but i really cant seem to click with it. All on PS.

Re: Marathon's Slick Sci-Fi Visuals Will Look Particularly Crisp on PS5 Pro

SBBuds

I was interested in this game until I found out it doesn't have dedicated solo servers. You will still come up against squads even when queing solo. They have a 'Rook', a solo class but that's very limiting if you prefer solo. I'll wait and see if they do anything about this but I think they are ignoring a huge chunk of a community, the most played on Arc is solos so they are kinda shooting themselves in the foot with this one. I'll keep an eye on it but will not be jumping in at launch.

Re: Skyrim-Like RPG Tainted Grail Proves a Huge Success

SBBuds

I'm defo interested, hadn't heard much about it, i'll bang it on the wishlist and check it out in the near future. I don't really want to start another RPG until i'm done with Mandragora Whispers of the Witch Tree (great game) which i'm not sure I will actually complete yet tbh. Kinda hard and I don't use guides but this sounds like a great game.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for January 2026?

SBBuds

Nothing for me, might try Darkest Dungeon, can't stand Yakuza games and went off Resi games a long time ago. Will probably browse, check out then not bother with the others, they don't sound like my cup of tea at all. Premium still just a joke, good job it's cheap, I don't play old games, nostalgia just doesn't appeal to me at all. Played it a long time ago, loved it, don't want to revisit and ruin my memory of the game.

Re: ARC Raiders Battles Sports Games for PS5 Download Dominance in December

SBBuds

Great game, it's smashing records on Steam, I think it's the only game that has retained its initial player base so long after release almost beating its peak amount of players online at the same time so long after release in the last few days. That's two months after release. It recently bested the amount of players logging on over a 24 hour period with an amazing 3.2 million players in 24 hours across all platforms, with PS making up a quarter of those numbers, slightly ahead of Xbox! Love it, things are indeed looking good for Embark and well deserved.

Re: You'll Never Guess the Most Played PS5, PS4 Games of 2025 in the US

SBBuds

Doesn't surprise me at all, MP games are infinite and SP games have a short life span. If it wasn't these titles it would be a different MP game. My youngest is always on Minecraft, pretty much every night but on PC. Pretty sure 6 to 10 are the same, probably more. I regularly keep an eye on PS gametracker and the most played games are always MP with dashings of SP as they come out then inevitably die off.

Re: Game of the Year: #6 - ARC Raiders

SBBuds

Should be top of the tree, best game and the most fun i've had for generations on console. Sets the bar higher than it's ever been before. Amazing, puts every other game to shame, especially other MP games.
