The First GTA 6 Actor Has Confirmed Their Involvement, and Nobody's Surprised 1

GTA 6 is on the horizon, and as we draw ever closer to the biggest game of the year, it seems some actors are starting to let slip their involvement with the project.

Namely, Stephen Root has confirmed his role in the game, per an interview with the Associated Press — though as he notes, it's not much of a surprise to fans.

In the clip, Root doesn't say who he plays in GTA 6, but it can be inferred from his comments (and my own ears) that he's the voice of Brian Heder, seen speaking to Jason at the start of trailer 2 — and he's pretty prominent in the extended look, too.

"I think from the first rollout of [GTA 6] they were doing, maybe almost a year ago, they had my character in there," Root says.

"And there are too many people who knew me from King of the Hill and my voice! So I think that secret kind of got divulged then."

Indeed, Root is best known for his roles in King of the Hill, Barry, and Widow's Bay — the latter two having landed him Emmy award nominations.

"I'm so happy to be involved with it," Root adds. "It's an amazing thing to look at."

Brian Heder is an old school drug runner who's now living out his later years with his wife Lori and getting people like Jason to do his dirty work. In the aforementioned trailer 2, Brian asks Jason to shakedown his clients.

No other actors have yet confirmed that they're in GTA 6, although the people playing the lead roles of Jason and Lucia have more or less been figured out.

It's believed that Dylan Rourke plays Jason, while Manni L. Perez is Lucia. Again, these have yet to be made official.
