Re: Romero Games Shuttered and Over 100 Staff Axed After Xbox Pulls Funding

SBBuds

Aww man, sucks but that's life. After spending 68 Bill MS need to snip off the loose ends/threads. The staff will be alright, if not they will have to get a different job stacking shelves or something until something better comes along. That's life, billions of people in the same boat.

If MS don't invest, like an OP has suggested, what did they do with 68 bill not long ago? Pretty sure that was the biggest investment in gaming.

Re: Mass Xbox Layoffs Begin, Everwild and Perfect Dark Both Cancelled

SBBuds

MS still have forty games in production, its portfolio hasn't changed much. I won't miss these games. At least MS have an excuse, when you buy a 68 bill company, makes sense to me you are going to have to lay a hell of a lot of people off. MS more than likely have staff that can do the jobs already and don't need them. That's my take, might be wrong. I don't know if Sony/PS can say the same. I'm not a share holder so wouldn't know, sounds like there's a lot of shareholders in here though ^^

Re: Red Dead Online Springs Back to Life as PS5 Port Hopes Increase

SBBuds

My mate (my only mate on PS ) bought the ultimate edition yesterday for £20 (I have it on Xbox) I don't think many people would pay £60+ for it now, some but not many. Sucks. He actually lol'd and was like WTF it's still £60!!?? Until he saw the £20 version and was happy to pay that.

Re: The 90s Anime Vibes Are Immaculate in Full Metal Schoolgirl on PS5

SBBuds

Well, Japan does love its schoolgirls. Game looks ok, i'll keep an eye on it, do like a roguelite. Any 'pearl clutching' is warrantied, in fact, i'd say that this game is aimed at that audience. Just look at the pics above, why else would a schoolgirl be going to battle in a bikini? Maybe she's hot? Or is that the school uniform? Either way it's weird but if the game's good, meh, who cares?

Re: Mass Effect-Like The Expanse: Osiris Reborn Sounds Like One of PS5's Most Promising Action RPGs

SBBuds

I'll keep an eye on it, I really liked the first season but the second season dragged a little. Amos (I think he was called) was awsome, hope he's in the game He kept me watching it but it became to focused on the finding of that womans kid, it all became a bit of a drag after that, I don't rate her at all. Was ok though.
Also that fake accent, the ones the people born in space use (can't remember the name) >.< almost turned me right off the show.

Re: First PS Plus Extra Game for July 2025 Confirmed

SBBuds

Oooo pleasant surprise, Anbiotic Factory sounds right up my street. I'll certainly give that a bash, not sure when but that's a good game (at least sounds like) for me, love survival/crafting games.
However TM will be a defo skip for me. Not into older games, tried to play them, just can't Was great in its day though. Will be nice for fans of nostalgia.

Re: 'Employees at Virtually Every Studio Are Worried': Major Layoffs at Xbox Expected Next Week

SBBuds

@DaveTheRave I honestly don't care, not in a nasty way, just an honest way. I'm a consumer not an employee, I care about that emplyee about as much as they care about me and right now as a consumer i'm getting an amazing deal. How long will it last? Who knows? I'll leave that to the billionaire business men/women at MS to figure out. Even if I did care i'm not going to pretend I would know, I'm just going to ride the wave whilst I can and enjoy it.

Re: 'We're Not Looking to Put First-Party Games in PS Plus Day and Date': Sony Rejects Xbox Game Pass Model

SBBuds

That's why it will always be my second platform. Sucks but that's the way it is. GP is to good. With MS talking about adding Steam to its next console the games available will be doubled, if it works out. Lost in Random is keeping me on Xbox then it's Alters, not long finished Doom and Avowed, before that Atomfall. Maybe after that i'll play the DG remaster that cost me £40, or I could buy another game on PS, OR maybe Wuchang will be out by then and I can play that for practically free on GP, there's other great games launching as well. That's the problem that PS have. Ignore it or play it down as not good enough but I know where my bread is buttered.
Also it's not first party games not being released that's the only problem, it's that they rarely release day one games and when they do, they are also on GP. It's a horrid service.
Might as well throw Rematch in there, £20 saved.

Re: Microsoft Rivals PSVR2 with Meta Quest 3S Xbox Headset

SBBuds

Would be better if it was a Quest 3 but to be fair I don't use mine to play Xbox games. I bought it instead of the PSVR when I bought my Pro. Don't regret it and Horizon (Metas Game Pass) is Awsome at £7.99, need to buy a gunstock to play shooters though £25. Would of been better if it wasn't the S. Meta has many more games than the PSVR2 and pretty much all the 3rd party PS games available on the PSVR2.

Re: Actor Charlie Cox Feels Like a 'Total Fraud' After Expedition 33's Success

SBBuds

So he should, I could never have a known actor in my games and the experience wouldn't be marred at all for me. I don't like actors or celebs in my games. Their parts in any video game are totally overblown and I genuinely believe literally any able bodied person would be able to do it. It's just another way for celebs to make even more money from us. Played the game on Xbox, really good. Has absolutely nothing to do with the acting for me though.

Re: SEGA's Accidentally Outed Sales Numbers Put a Lot into Context

SBBuds

Doesn't really mean much unless you can see other Studio sales numbers. Who are we to know what is good or bad? All we have is speculation. It's interesting like but that's it, as much as people here might really like these games, they are not that popular to the masses. This is Sega ffs

Re: Mini Review: Rematch (PS5) - Fun, Fresh Football Game Holds Huge Potential

SBBuds

Good game and reminds me so much of when RL launched on PS+, but this time it's on GP, dammit, been playing it over there. Minor latency issues but other than that nothing really. Hope they don't start adding tricks, that's the reason I don't Fifa. That rainbow (whatever) kick is already being abused, imagine if they add more. Personally I think it will be a RL contender, certainly a decent alternative at worst.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2's PS5 Version Could Be Announced Next Week

SBBuds

@Outlawed_Samurai Well lets hope so, I don't want it to sell bad. I'm assuming you have some experience in the industry? I can't argue with what you say because I don't, 2 or 3 people and a couple of weeks work sounds rather quick and easy for a game like this. Wouldn't they have done it ages ago and do it for all games, if it's that simple? I wouldn't know.
Edit: Maybe it's a marketing tactic? Makes sense to make a mill off an update rather than throw it in for free at the start Or maybe they just didn't have the means to do it at launch /shrug, who knows?

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2's PS5 Version Could Be Announced Next Week

SBBuds

@Frmknst Doubt it, they stopped support a long while back. No more jobs/content/updates. I suppose they may add some gold to entice players back but I don't think the online will receive any content sadly. GTV is limitless as to what they can add but because of the setting in RDR2 it's limited. Unless they were to add flying horses with gatling guns lol.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2's PS5 Version Could Be Announced Next Week

SBBuds

Better load times are always better. Bit late in the day though. I can't see them making enough money back to cover the costs? Surely anyone who wants to play this game have played it already, great for people that own the game but I can't see many people buying it fresh for this, especially if they played it already. Great game imo, enjoying DG more though.
Also the most popular part (the online) stopped recieving support about a year ago..

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for June 2025?

SBBuds

Not bad because of FBC but the rest are bad. All on GP as well so that doesn't help. The article said be brutally honest so, this service is terrible I'm partly to blame because i'm still going to pay for it. The only way to judge something you pay for is to compare it with its rival services and well, it's obvious so i'll leave it there.

Re: 'Competition Pushes Us to Innovate': Sony Weighs in on Xbox's Potential Exit from Console Business

SBBuds

MS aren't going anywhere. It's insane to me that it is even a thing people on PS are talking about right now. They don't even mention it on Xbox, it's unimaginable because things are so good over there and have been for a while. I can only only speak for myself but it feels like this whole debacle should be the other way round.
What are Sony going to do? (Rhetorical) but meh whatever. The gaming community never ceases to amaze me

Re: 9 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for June 2025 Announced

SBBuds

@theSpectre Nope, i'm used to Extra being bad now, last game I played was Dave the Diver o.O .Good game, plan on going back but it's an indication of how useless the service is to me atm. I can't remember what I played before. The only way to judge something like Extra is to put it alongside its competition and no, no matter the general opinion on this site, that isn't the Switch 2

Re: Days Gone Dev Hit with Layoffs, Loses 30% of Staff

SBBuds

Damn that sucks, great game and enjoying the remaster. I see the usual hate for live games, sucks but there it is. All I will say is that consumers want live games so that's where the money is, it's not my fault or any other live players fault that the people in charge of giving us our chosen genres are greedy *****
They will always be my preferred genre, i'd take one good live game over ten good single player games. The industry just needs to sort itself out.

Re: 9 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for June 2025 Announced

SBBuds

These are terrible. Maybe it's because I have GPU but these are terrible, might just be my taste but to me this feels like a joke. It isn't broken right? That top tier (I actually pay for ) has one game? And it's a PS2 game? I don't play anything PS3 or earlier, hell I don't like it when I play PS4 games.
If you're happy, more power to you, i'm not, i'm going to drop a tier. I'm not angry but even as a guy that just lets my subs tick away, you only need a couple of games a year to justify the price, Extra doesn't even justify that anymore. Maybe a shadow drop? /shrug something needs to happen in my opinion.

Re: Round Up: What Was Announced for PS5 at Xbox Games Showcase?

SBBuds

I don't care for first party games, just games and none blew me away. I've read up on them PS and Xbox (screw Nintendo) and literally nothing tickles my fancy. Practically all SP as well and the big event!! Another CoD, well blow me over with a feather, who wudda thunk it, there's another CoD coming out. Piss poor tbh. I'll just filter through them as they release, play the ones on GP and buy any of the others in a sale. The only one I may pay for is CoD, if it's any good this time, gotta get that MP fix.

Re: Days Gone Remastered Gets Another Update on PS5, Here Are the Patch Notes

SBBuds

Aww man love this game, playing through it atm for the first time. I only got back on PS when the Pro released so didn't play it the first time round. This is my favourite PS exclusive by far, to be fair i've not played them all yet but this is a grand game, love it, ticks all my SP boxes (well most). It's better than any game i've played on my Xbox in the last couple of years at least. They should absolutely make a sequel.

Re: Reaction: Sony Finally Understands the Assignment with One of the Best State of Plays of the PS5 Era

SBBuds

I don't watch these I prefer to read about them. Sounds like it was pretty decent, I personally like non exclusives, then we get to choose the best place to play our games. Lets face it, some of these will be on GP. It's a shame PS have nothing to fight GP with, I would much rather play on my PS. Some of these games coming to Premium would of been a better announcement for me. That's where the real competition is for PS. The services other platforms provide and PS really need to up their game.

Re: New PS5 Games for June and July 2025

SBBuds

Wuchang and Alters are on GP so that's where i'll be playing them. Wasn't to keen on DS1, good game, to slow, was planning on going back so don't know about DS2. Maybe after I finish the DG remaster after I finish Doom on GP. We'll see, i think that's a reasonably good list for a so called slow month, not bad at all.

Re: Reaction: There's Never Been a Better Time to Buy a PS5

SBBuds

@EfYI I agree, the Pro is a great console and is certainly worth the money (to me anyway) I will absolutely keep it, love it in fact.
It is the best console out there right now, best looking, powerfull and (contrary to popular opinion on Xbox) has the best controllers, they really are good controllers.

I just don't really agree with the articles claims that this is the best time to buy one, I think the only thing MS/Xbox have over their competitors is Gamepass unfortunately, I don't think they can keep it up that up forever though. Right now though GP is massive. I mean just today they added Metaphor Rephatazio (or whatever) and Spray paint simulator. Like I said, GP is the ONLY thing they have going for them, it can't last forever.

I love my PS though, wasn't trying to bag on PS, will be buying i girl on PS soon, I don't buy games on Xbox anymore, which is another negative for Xbox and GP. Just need to work my way through some GP games and i'll be back on Days Gone Remaster. No worries

Re: Reaction: There's Never Been a Better Time to Buy a PS5

SBBuds

I don't think it is, I bought my Pro at launch and have barely played it. Gamepass is the main appeal and smashes anything PS has to offer unfortunately. It's expensive to game on PS, anyone who for some reason doesn't have a console already would be much better suited to Xbox and Ultimate. Unless they are fine playing old games on Premium, or have the money to buy every game they like. This isn't a fact, just my opinion as I really thought I would smash my PS more and am quite disappointed tbh. Games for me now are more about the services, options for gaming, choices, the massive catalogues available, not just the price of entry and how much each game costs. That's the old restrictive way. Certainly how it feels to me.
