4 New September 2026 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Available to Download Now

This staggered release really needs to come to an end - I can't see it having any impact other than a general irritation.

@Hyena_socks Agreed, there have been a couple of times where I was playing something early because I do use multiple accounts and I don't think one region should have access before the other. We're all paying customers. I thought it took someone all weekend to download one game because 'they were waiting'. All I could think was that they must have dial-up. Just staggered.

Welp guess I'm waiting for the 22nd as those are the two games I want to play the most.

I don’t know if it was a glitch but I was able to download Ball X Pit on the 10th September. It was quite a few rows down the “latest to PS Plus” list.

To whoever approved this staggered release nonsense. Can I have your dealers number? He seems to have some really strong stuff.

I can imagine this staggered release malarkey makes these articles a pain in the arse to write

The staggered release has only worked once in my favour so far. When I got a game I wanted to play earlier and at a time where I had just finished what I was playing. Every other time it's been an unnecessary annoyance getting the games I want to play later and then it crosses over too closely with the following months essential games.

Im not visiting or engaging with the collection more, sony arent getting anything out of this, i'm just being inconvenienced and annoyed every month. What benefit is that providing for sony? I know other recent sony decisions have gained far more traction and are bigger issues but this decision is right up there with the most stupid of them all as there is zero benefit to doing it for anybody.

why stagger - just release all at one time

@SoulChimera
Yeah, I downloaded it for free too and have been playing since last weekend.

Loving living in Australia to not have to put up with the staggered releases.

Just Hinterberg for me this month. Though will put Date Everything into the catalogue just in case. Not sure just in case what but doing it anyway 🤣

I already have Ball x Pit which I recommend

Maybe it stops people who only pay for a month her and there? Or at least keeps them engaged in the service longer? I don't know but it's the only possible reason to do it I can think of. Certainly annoying though when you are used to getting them all on the same day.

Downloaded Runscape but I wasn't a fan of Xpit, it launched onto GP but I wasn't a fan.

@old_gamer74 All this time I thought you were a British man enjoying your cup of Yorkshire Tea in the countryside, it's probably because you too have horses and that's where mine live. Do you live in the Outback with a horse ranch? I've only been once and the people were great but you have too many things that scurry/fly that can cause a slow painful death.

I'd always wanted a pet kangaroo too and when I saw those muscles up close and was told they aren't friendly I changed my mind. Does heavy game censorship there not affect what you get to play? I know at one point their ratings board was so broken that they had to ban games/content because there was no higher rating in place. But wasn't Halloween the game just banned too?

@GirlVersusGame i am a British man who drinks tea kinda in the country but nearer the sea! I just happen to be an ex-pat. 16 years now wrestling roos and crocs! 🤣

Yeah the ratings thing is all over the shop here. I hear Mewgenics is coming and Halloween may get overturned. Maybe.

its weird, I am in europe and it doesnt show BallXPitt in the new catalogue games, but when I search for it manualy it is there to download for free.
What is the point? It will show the game on 22nd? But you can download it now? It should be available everything at the same time in EU, no?
but Ball X Pit looks really good, I played for few minutes and it seems like fun

@old_gamer74 I never even thought of Mewgenics being affected too but it makes sense. Censorship is my biggest issue with digital/physical. My Government censor free-speech/etc in games, but not violence. A lot of people get around it by going physical and VPNs can get you permanently banned now. Sony don't realize it but once they lose that import market they'll lose a lot of money in the process. Especially because smuggled units have a different country of origin, much like end user certificates on firearms. Sony think they know the figures when really they don't. Meanwhile European ratings boards are turning rabid to 'protect the children'.

The staggered Plus+ system is a taste of what it will be like when regional limitations dictate what you can play and when. There will be no physical alternative to circumnavigate the system, and as I said a VPN means risking your account. I see people from Ukraine saying the same thing on Telegram, if Sony don't work with legislators to cut some of that red-tape, build their regional infrastructure then the overall outcome could affect everyone.

For example you want to play Mewgenics, your ratings-board say no. So you VPN, Sony detect it as fraud and ban your account. You then have to use a different machine, but there's that regional restriction again, the alternative then becomes piracy. I'm seeing piracy skyrocket in my homeland. Sony need to rethink a lot of things. They can start by getting rid of that staggered approach and reworking their fraud detection system. Here's another example. Someone told me they relocated for a job, brought along their PS5. Popped online and got hit with a ban, it took them weeks to even get Support to answer. It was detected as Store Fraud. That person was a paying customer just like Plus+ subscribers are and they have to wait while someone else plays early? Whoever decided staggered was the way to go needs to go themselves, out the door on their head. Maybe the landing will fix something that common sense can't.
