It'll be a MP game for sure I think, Bungie to me have always been a MP first and foremost company not a SP. Halo has always been about the MP not the SP. Halo took off with Halo 2 MP, they are some of my best memories of gaming I have of Bungie along with Destiny 1s first season. After Destiny season one they started on their downhill trajectory.

@MrPeanutbutterz I don't see it like that I don't smoke, I'm T total and my kids still live at home and pay us for the pleasure. Me and my wife both work and other peoples income aren't my problem. Maybe they need to get their priorities right, tbh I couldn't care less, not my problem. Personally I think most pay monthly, I know I do and will continue to and so does everyone I know. I know the yearly one is better value for money but I just don't care 😆 considering everything in life has gone up dramatically the price of premium/extra is the least of my worries. Loving the drama though. Still paying monthly for Ultimate on GP as well lol. Also pay monthly for Netflix, Amazon music, that sub thing on Meta quest (forget the name) and Disney plus. All have gone up I think, like I said, don't care. I dont even watch the f******g TV 😆 life's a bitch lol. Then there's Amazon next day delivery thing, I pay 3 (yes 3) gym memberships and thats before you start on the bills, electricity etc, my shopping has gone up £50 a week and I get the same as I was getting 3 months ago, the list is endless, petrol, insurance, it goes on and on, the PS increase barely touches the surface 😉 All have gone up. Sorry for the long post but I'm just trying to hammer home how little an impact this increase has on life in general...

Dammit live service is to popular, let's stop making them. I suppose if they stopped making live service games it would become cheaper because 80% of the playerbase would stop playing games and the last 20% would be happy about it 😆

Im interested as long as it's not like the KC games. I really couldn't get along with those two games, I bought and tried them both. Hopefully LOTR has more direction, I got the impression that the two KC games were impossible to play without constantly checking Wiki and using a walkthrough/guide. Kind of ruins the point in actually playing the game for me.

I don't think Sony care what people here think, even if everyone who voted no in this poll quit the service, the price increase would more than cover it.

This could be because they won't be porting games to PC anymore, maybe they would of put the prices up anyway but people sure do want a lot. Don't want games ported, don't want to pay to play online, make it free for people that don't want to play online. I suppose it's to be expected but we sure like to complain.

Good luck playing online on PC, a recent video showed that out of 30 games of Arc Raiders 26 had at least one cheater in it. Check out the video called 'the wiggle that is killing Arc'. I'll stay on console only Thank-you and don't mind the price increase, I've been paying to play online for 25 years now and it doesn't bother me.

It's news but I don't see why people are so hyped. It's not going to effect the consumer, we're still going to get the same games we would of if they were ported to PC. It's not like porting them to PC changed the quality of the games. I'm just assuming the numbers weren't as good as Sony hoped.

Hmm was kind of interested after hearing a lot about the game but by the sounds if it the cutscenes are the main appeal? Not really my favourite part of games, combat doesn't sound like it has much variety and lacks a bit of gameplay, the cutscenes would just add to the bordem for me rather than quash it. I'll wait for a sale and then maybe buy it.

They're ok, RDR2 whilst an amazing game has been played to death so feels kinda low key and most of the others , Thaurma, Outlaws, Flintlock and even Bramble I think have been on GP for a while now as well and I only tried Flintlock out of them so meh, they're ok. I only noticed Thaurma today was on GP and I'm pretty sure I read it's very much a point and click so not for me sadly.

This new feature is probably the best way Sony could answer their critics on why they chase the live service model and could very well have been the reason they did it. Unless they break into the live service genre they will struggle to make the great SP games people here love and live for. Without it they could only realistically become publishers.

Sucks but it is how it is. Great article. Would be better to have a mixed bag of SP and live service but meh. I'm a fan of both and take no joy in the facts (believe it or not) but SP games just can't generate the money live games do and you need money to make games, lots of it.

Same as last week, BF6, Arc, Pool, will be on the Xbox in a couple of days for FH6. Might jump on Marathon and started Fall of Avolon so maybe that, I also bought Aces of the Luftwafe for like £2 so maybe a bit if that. Also still have Crimson but that's a little stale atm so plenty to keep me occupied. I dont really bother with platinums, I don't like using guides and walkthroughs. I think I've only ever 100% like 3 games since trophies/cheevos became a thing 😆

I'll use it a lot, couldn't care less what people think, I find it interesting. I only play BF6 and Arc out of those games and the list won't affect what I play at all. The top 40 would be nice to see though, maybe they will add more in the future. Personally I think it will be a good thing for sites like this and stop some of the toxicity towards certain genres. People may have to choose their words a little more carefully but it won't stop it completely ofc, we can see that from some of the comments in this thread already. I'm 50 this year so by no means a kid.

Not bad but none really for me, played/tried half of them and the others don't really tickle my fancy. Might try Thaurma but know nothing about it, I like RPGs but not many lately have been my thing.

@Godot25 not to mention Arc Raiders which shifted more copies of the game than Saros, Pragmata and Resi Evil added together. It's not like live service will miss Sega anyways.

News to me, I knew it wasn't my kind of game when I saw the headline for it on some article said something like 'An interactive and memorable journey', so didn't engage at all. I also don't use any kind of media site, Twitter or FB, nothing. This is the first I have read about this so meh, whatever. It's not just the Internet being the Internet, it's people being people. Couldn't care less tbh, whatever floats your/their boat.

I've been digital only for ages, wasted a few £ in the process buying some games that I barely play but I don't care, life's to short.

@Sonofken it's more about the timing than the message obviously. They wait until just after putting the prices up to start banging on about upgrading, you'd have to be a bit simple to think it would run well on a PS4. If I was Rockstar I wouldn't even bother with a PS4 version, can't believe they have bothered.

GTA5 campaign was and maybe is insanely popular. There are bazillions of sub readies about it and conspiracy theorists talked about it for years, maybe still do. I know people that have completed it five or six times. 'Reddits' im on my phone..

Got to wonder who is in charge of the PR department at Sony 😆 They must think the public are dumb AF or they just don't care. Personally I'd rather not game than game on old hardware but for those that feel different and are still slogging away on a PS4 this is just a slap in the face. Yeah bad buy to say the least and I dont know if they can turn it around but they have no choice but to stick with it. More money than sense, you can't force people to play live service games it's always a gamble. Even as a live service fan I'll admit more fail than succeed and to bet so much on GaaS was risky to say the least. Even as a Marathon fan it has been a very costly error of judgement in my opinion.

I actually agree we should go back to making SP games with the MP added as well. That formula produced the best MP games.

Maybe, wasn't thrilled with the first one tbh which I bought at launch but I'll keep my eye on this. The weapons were shallow with hardly any upgrades, levels were repetitive and few and if someone dropped out the AI teammates were useless. If they can improve on the above there's a good chance I'll buy it.

It cost to much for what it is. It's that simple. I like a rogue lite but not at 70 quid.

Or they simply don't like these games lol. Anyway I can appreciate what I think is a decent offering even if none are really for me, tried Sols and might play more but it's basically a 2D souls game.

More attention to solo players would go a long way to get players on board. I'm a firm believer that the majority of people prefer solo play in games like Marathon over squads and that Bungie are almost insisting that people play in squads to get to the juicy part of the game is their biggest mistake. It's certainly the reason I don't play more and have strayed back to playing Arc in the last week. Amazing game but they need to broaden their horizon and vision for the future.

Personally, not really but it is a good selection. Might try Sols.

Marathon 225 hours, BF6 177 hours, Pure Pool, 101 hours and I've started playing Arc again as Marathon is showing no love for solo runners 😆 841 hours. To be honest I thought I'd played Arc for longer than that, need to up my game 😜

Probably day 1, not watched any vids but other than the first one it's the only one I liked. Didn't finish it though, cant remember why. I'll finish it this time, some MP game probably came out last time and dragged me away.

@Ambassador_Kong the top 20 most popular games on PS would suggest they would like to play a MP game. You might not like it but the top 20 most played are consistently 90% MP games. They just need to make a good one.

This comment section hardly represents the average gamer. It's a very anti MP place and the top 20 most played tells you that MP is more popular than SP. Not saying that it won't fail just that this comment section doesn't represent your average gamer 😎

Depends on the price, love MP games and the SP versions of this IP didn't appeal to me at all. A MP spin may very well drag me in.

From a business point of view PS has/had the smarter strategy which is what I voted, we are consumers though. From a consumer point of view Xbox GP was and still is for now better value for money. It was obviously not going to last forever.
