Long before The Blood of Dawnwalker even released, developer Rebel Wolves made its intentions clear: this game was going to be the starting point for an entire franchise.
At the time, it felt like a pretty arrogant statement to make, but now that Dawnwalker's here and racking up healthy launch sales, plans are being put into motion.
More specifically, Rebel Wolves is now beefing up its team in preparation for the development of Dawnwalker's sequel.
We know this because narrative director Jakub Szamalek is in search of a lead writer to help him craft the next game's story.

"We're already thinking about what comes next," Szamalek writes on LinkedIn.
He goes on to outline some rather high expectations: "We're looking for someone who, to put it bluntly, writes EXCEPTIONALLY well, has a track record of excellence and experience in team management."
Again, this is coming from a studio that revealed a full-on trailer for a modern day Dawnwalker sequel months before the first game dropped. So this was always the plan, assuming that Dawnwalker wasn't some kind of disaster right out of the gate.
And for what it's worth, I think this sequel could be really, really good. I like The Blood of Dawnwalker — I gave it a 7/10 in our official review — but there's so much room for improvement, and hopefully, Rebel Wolves nails the follow-up.
