@ShadowRJ they're a corporation telling us they are no longer supporting a type of data storage format, not your parents telling you they're getting a divorce lmao
@crossbit the crash of 1983 happened because of over saturation and companies not being able to make money because of it. Sure, some companies arent making money and failing, but a lot others are making a lot money. So how does a crash come out of this? What is crashing exactly?
I mean we have seen already what happens in markets where console gaming is too expensive for most people, they just game on mobile devices. If hardware prices remain too high for too long, we could see the beginning of a gradual drift towards mobile gaming in western audiences
@Reeneman if you're playing on the base ps5, I'd strongly recommend the 30 fps over the performance mode if u can tolerate the lower frames. The visual difference in lighting and shadows is jarring and i find the performance mode ugly
I've dropped GOW 2018 like 4 times after trying to play it so generally I agree with Jaffe's view on the franchises direction as a whole. I loved the original trilogy
@4fold this sounds like a niche case tho. Most people complete their game and move on or drop the game and move on. The Crew servers were available for 10 years, how many people are realistically gonna go back after that
I honestly cant get behind this movement. Ultimately how many people are really trying to go back to these old games? A vast majority of game consumers arent trying to play the original Crew or any other old game. They will just play the most recent one. Seems like a waste of time and energy spent on trying to safeguard old media
@species using lootboxes as an example of some sort of win is ridiculous. We went from $5 lootboxes to just $20-$25 skins. The monetization practices have not improved at all since the elimination of lootboxes. Your point would only stand if aggressive monetization went away after lootboxes, but it didn't
These anti-gacha people don't seem to understand that having an article about a big gacha game is important because the gacha industry is so huge and popular. If you hate these games and hate these articles, then you're the weird one, not the other way around lol
@LiamCroft is there a noticeable difference between the Quality mode and Performance mode on PS5 in terms of visuals? Is the performance mode a big downgrade?
Do we know what the "Fixed 4k Output" feature does exactly? I didn't think any of the graphics modes ran at native 4k anyway. Is this changing anything in that regard or is it still just being upscaled on quality mode?
@Fishysensei The quality mode still has issues unfortunately. Lots of shimmering in grass/trees and reflections. Also the shadows and lighting is kind of messed up at night in buildings
I've been using Quality mode which is supposed to be the least blurry but its still pretty bad. Lots of shimmering in the foliage and water. Sun/light reflections in the water look really bad. I actually don't mind much else so if they could somehow clean up the blurriness then I'd be happy

@GirlVersusGame Interesting. Seems weird to omit a good soundtrack. I think the game could really benefit from quality ambient music
