You won’t have to wait much longer to play the ultra-realistic physics-based racing game BeamNG.drive on your PS5.
Announced moments ago with an all-new trailer, the cult PC sim will finally get its console exclusive release on 19th October, with expanded support for the PS5 Pro.
This game was announced for Sony’s console earlier this summer, after becoming a quiet sensation on PC platforms. Its debut trailer attracted almost one million views.

If you want to know what sets this racer apart from others, the game’s blurb reveals all:
“BeamNG.drive is an incredibly realistic driving game with near-limitless possibilities. Our soft-body physics engine simulates every component of a vehicle in real time, resulting in true-to-life behavior. With years of meticulous design, intensive research and experience, the simulation authentically recreates the excitement of real world driving.”
The full game features 12 distinct maps for you to explore, with various time trials and gameplay scenarios for you to engage with.
Expect this to be more of a sandbox than a traditional racing game, but it’s a bit of a cult hit on PC so don’t be surprised if the PS5 port sells extraordinarily well – even during this busy period of new releases.
In fact I think Sony securing this on its console is a bit of a coup, and we’ve seen how strongly the PlayStation audience resonates with racers, especially in European markets.
There’s no word on a price and pre-orders aren’t yet open on the PS Store, but I’ll update if more information emerges over the course of the day.
