It's been roughly 16 months since The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered launched on PS5, and the open world revival still runs poorly on Sony's system.
Although a couple of post-release updates did smooth performance to some extent, it remains a noticeably choppy game, plagued by frame rate issues and hitching as it loads assets.
Fortunately for those of you who have exhibited extreme patience, Bethesda says that improvements are coming. Eventually.
With Oblivion Remastered launching on Switch 2, the developer has taken this opportunity to address the negative feedback that's been circling on other platforms.

"We've heard your feedback asking for an additional patch for Oblivion Remastered," the studio writes on social media.
It continues: "The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game has a number of optimisations that we are looking into bringing to other platforms and we will share more when we are able."
It's anyone's guess as to when this now promised patch will release, but at least we know something's coming. Fingers crossed these "optimisations" actually make a notable difference on PS5 when they do land.
Having said that, it's worth pointing out that the game only targets 30 frames-per-second on Switch 2 — and even then, it can struggle to remain stable. Not the most reassuring example.
