The Blood of Dawnwalker PS5

After revealing The Blood of Dawnwalker will only have a 30FPS Quality Mode and a 40FPS Balanced Mode at launch, developer Rebel Wolves has this morning rushed to confirm there actually will be a Performance Mode offering 60FPS.

In a social media post, the team shared a Performance Mode that targets 60 frames-per-second will be available on day one, 3rd September 2026, via a day one update. It said it had been testing a Performance Mode, but it was not ready to promise it would be available at release, so the option wasn't mentioned.

"We heard your feedback. It was clear how much this mattered to many of you, so we focused on finishing the next round of tests," the studio continued. "Those results gave us the confidence we needed to confirm Performance Mode for Day 1." It'll be available on both base PS5 and the PS5 Pro.

Rebel Wolves has now taken the original console footage video published last week offline, setting it to Private on YouTube. Presumably, it'll upload a new one with Performance Mode included.

That clears that issue up, then for an RPG that has looked increasingly promising as its launch draws closer. From talent that made The Witcher 3, the experience looks a lot like the modern RPG masterpiece, except here you play as a vampire with limited time to rescue your family. It's coming out at a very crowded time, but positive previews have made it stand out from the pack.
