In just under a month's time, on 8th September 2025, Baby Steps will finally stumble onto PS5.
Published by Devolver Digital and developed by the minds behind Ape Out and Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy, the game has been on the horizon for some time now, and we've been excited to see what it's all about.
Well, this latest trailer for the game tells you more or less all you need to know:
Much like the aforementioned Getting Over It, Baby Steps is a game in which you're presented with a tricky landscape to navigate, and a player character ill-equipped to do so.
You play as a 30-something slacker named Nate, who's warped into a mysterious realm in which he must re-learn how to use his legs.
The game is an open world full of obstacles and challenging geometry, and it's your job to explore it, hunting for secrets and ultimately getting Nate back to his comfy basement abode.
As mentioned, though, this is a tall order, as you can't simply push the left analogue stick forward to walk. You'll use the triggers to control Nate's corresponding legs, making just getting from A to B a puzzle.
The above video perfectly showcases how easy it's going to be to slip up and come crashing down, losing progress and, probably, your temper.
This exercise in patience can't come soon enough if you ask us, but what do you think? Are you looking forward to the challenge laid down by Baby Steps? Watch your step in the comments section below.

This game looks laugh out loud funny. I love the irreverent humor; absurdist, but deadpan.
Don’t really get the hatred of this one, it’s Bennett Foddy and therefore guaranteed to be a good time. I guess it’s been a long time coming though and pops up in basically every State of Play.
I always call stuff like this "meme games" because that's basically what they are. The current popular thing among streamers providing meme content for gaming social media. Sometimes they can be fun in a different or challenging sort of way, they used to be old internet browser games such as QWOP.
@JayJ The xblig one "mount your friends" was the best 🤣👍

@Simulated-Soul What trend?
This looks so stupid. Just a game for streamers to pretend to enjoy to get views from their bored fans.
This looks more annoying, the more i see of it
The dude in the pic looks like Ron from Harry potter 😱
But fat and older🤪
Maybe there's something wrong with me or I'm not getting it. This looks awful and annoying 🙁 maybe it will be funny the first couple of minutes but the entire game?
Barefooted snowrunner!
I cant belive this is really a game and someone would give even 1 buck for that...
I don’t know, probably this might be some surprising good game but so far everything that I’ve seen from it doesn’t want me to spend time or money for it.
A new strand type game.
@Juanalf nothing wrong with you man, I feel the same way, looks dreadful and a chore to play. And the more I see the more it annoys me and makes me dislike it even more...should probably stop alclickong articles about it actually 🤣
Don't need this game(don't get me wrong I laughed a fair bit through the whole 10 minutes)
It's just I have the exact same game already titled "my husband after a few too many bourbons on a Friday" and I get just as many laughs as I got from this video.
Might still get it if it's not too pricey so said husband can see what he looks like lol
@3:15 why you should always listen to the guy running the water slide, when he's yelling at you to only go down the ride feet first.
The negative comments on that video, is probably from all the REAL 30+ years olds, still living in their parents basement, getting offended by the game
Kinda reminds me of the first hour in Death Stranding, trying to not fall over with my gear, and learning the mechanics
Great, so that that's out of the way it won't take up any time at the next state of play... Am I right?
@tameshiyaku
Only good outcome about this joke of a game and not a funny one at that.
Heh, heh heh, heeeh.. ...heh
The demo is out on Steam, and review scores is at "Very Positive".
Played the demo on Steam at the beginning of June. I found it absolutely hilarious and will be making a purchase on PS5. Some of the conversations had me rolling. Can't wait to hear more.
Genuinely curious about this one, always up for weird.
