Ghost of Tsushima Legends

Ghost of Yotei developer Sucker Punch has avoided questioning around the possibility of a second multiplayer Legends mode for the PS5 sequel.

In a new interview with IGN, creative director Nate Fox is asked whether there's a possibility Ghost of Yotei will receive a multiplayer mode similar to Legends, either at launch or afterwards. Fox responded, saying the studio is "very focused" on finishing the follow-up's single player campaign to "the highest quality possible".

Avoiding any mention of whether a new Legends mode is actually in production or not, Fox's full response reads:

"We were extremely happy with Ghost of Tsushima Legends and allowing players to connect with friends and use their skills fighting with the katana against a variety of enemies. We loved it. Right now we are very focused on completing Ghost of Yotei to the highest quality possible and putting it in players' hands very soon on October 2. That is our absolute focus right now."

Of course, a multiplayer mode to go alongside Ghost of Yotei would be confirmed on Sucker Punch's own terms instead of in response to an interview question, but the lack of clarification leaves fans of the original mode with no definitive answer.

The first Legends mode was a surprise announcement roughly a month after Ghost of Tsushima launched on PS4, and was a free offering that was later made available standalone. It provided a co-op multiplayer experience for up to four players, and offered story missions to complete together, as well as Survival, Raid, and Rivals modes.

For now, Sucker Punch isn't saying whether there'll be another Legends. The single player campaign for Ghost of Yotei is its "absolute focus" for the time being, which launches for PS5 on 2nd October 2025.
