I also think a large part of those not wanting to read is a generational thing too. I'm older and feel a lot of the younger generation want instant gratification without putting the time in, they want everything immediately and everything is disposable. @JLPick No need for worries. I had an external 8tb drive for my PS4 and all you have to do is plug the same drive into your PS5. Delete your physical games from the Hard drive and move all your download games onto it, or you can just download the games again from your PStore library (that's the worst case scenario as it'll take quite a bit of time).
@radic202 This is to add to the internal storage space, not to replace it...
This is going to look amazing with 4k HDR, ray-tracing and all the souped-up bells & whistles the PS5 can muster. Hopefully they'll get the audio right as that's just as important. - Headphones on, lights off and me screaming like a big girls blouse!
"Wasn't excited for the great cast so far (eh), but this one did it for me"
Sorry but that's completely contradictory. You say it's a "great cast" yet you're not excited by that great cast. What would get you "excited"? A wonderful cast? A brilliant cast? A fantastic cast? A good cast?
Dunham is a great actor and quite the catch for the show. Her addition to an already solid cast is welcome, I wonder who's going to be announced further down the road...?
"Always good to support the art house cinemas! I try to make sure I’m going to the GFT rather than Cineworld if I can help it, they show much more interesting movies and the theatre is beautiful inside"
It's actually GFT I work in! Been here for 7 years and absolutely love it, I do like my blockbusters (especially 3D) but my heart is really with Art-house. I Iove the breadth of movies we do and Festival time is a fantastic time and buzz with all our Premieres and guests. Frightfest is also a favourite and I make sure I'm on the rota to do the whole thing (two exhausting 12 hour shifts but the movies make it worthwhile!)...
"I have a feeling this isn't going to work as well as they hoped. I think it's going to have trouble making it's money back, or at least that much of a profit"
I don't think you understand how TV works. There's many ways for them to make the money back easy, there's ads, as this is a premium show big name brands will want to be onboard. HBO also have over 41 million subscribers paying $9.99 a month (with ads) and $14.99 (without ads). The release of just ONE movie, Wonder Woman 1984 drove their subs up by 3.5 million, this show could add to the subs massively.
Then there's sales to different countries which will bring in heaps of $$, and if it reaches four seasons it'll then (no doubt) be syndicated to terrestrial channels which again will bring in much $$. Then there's product placement which will add another hefty wedge to the profit bucket...
I'm from Scotland (UK) and worked in a Global Video store for 2 years. I loved it there, at times it was rough (some customers could be absolute arses) but overall enjoyable. When Blockbuster opened in the UK they ate away at Global Video's market and then we closed down. I work as an Usher in an Art-house cinema now (as well as DJing) and love the movies I get to see each week...
After six paragraphs of criticism! There's nothing wrong with the way Sony's marketing new software (and hardware), certainly not from how I see it. Would it be preferable for them to show everything about the big hitters? And after then? Everything they have will be planned out on a strict timetable. They've certainly got a damn sight more than Microsoft and are showing a lot more than Xbox (which isn't hard, all they have to show is Game Pass).
"So you wouldn't be bothered if Sam and Henry were white in this adaptation? Or does race only matter when they're black?"
So you registered especially to come out with your racist BS? Awaiting your incoming homophobia and transphobic pish. Now off you pop petal and give your head a wobble. - Oh, and before you accuse me of misogyny (oh the irony), you're as much Elisabeth as I am Susan.
"Yes? I don't want to watch blade movie if the protagonist is white. Or can you imagine if black phanter protag is changed to white in black phanter 2?"
Don't be so hysterical and ridiculous. Why on earth do you have a problem with Ellie being portrayed by a mixed-race actor and Joel by a Chilean actor? It's not about you petal (as you seem to make EVERY story about The Last Of Us Parts I & 2 all about you). Your (now deleted) comments on here have been downright offensive. - It's up to the CREATOR of the characters who he sees best fits the roles, not a nameless entity who's perpetually moaning on website comments, stamping his feet like a spoiled brat.
"It’s not exactly a good look from the outside. So for casual players or parents etc, you’re paying £450 for a new console, and then paying more for the privilege of actually getting games on that console. If I was a parent who wasn’t informed about games then I probably would just keep the PS4 for my kids"
Eh? That doesn't make a whole heap of sense. It doesn't matter what console a player or parents buy, they're still going to have to buy games for it!
Ermmm sorry, but no. You've got that one completely and categorically wrong. Soulsborne fans are some of the best and most welcoming communities on-line (apart from a few plonkers!) They go out of their way to help and guide "newbies" to the games either on forums or by introducing them to the best online sources and guides (written by the same fans and communities).
@UltimateOtaku91
"No difficulty options then no purchase from me, same goes from a lot of other people, these titles would sell way more if they included a difficulty option so the only people missing out are the developers on all that money"
I say to yourself and "a lot of other people" that the game actually does have "difficulty options" in that you can summon NPCs and other players to help you fight, you are quite literally having an extra person (or up to 3) to fight alongside you, which will even up the odds should things get too heated. You're missing some wonderful games here with the Soulsborne titles, it's not Miyazaki/From Software putting up those barriers. It's YOU!
Ah, my most disappointing games of all time, it has been one year huh. Nd should make abby and joel & ellie statue to see which version sells better.
Most gamers don’t like shi**y characters, especially torturer, killer, and cheater like abby (also there’s one time she r*pe her ex boyfriend when he’s drunk despite his girlfriend already pregnant). I think the only one who like them is those weirdo on twitter, it will be weird if there’s normal / non psychopath people that like her.
THIS has got to be one of the most singular, hysterical, nonsensical comments I have read on any games page EVER (you've surpassed your previous comments tenfold), I'm actually flabbergasted and don't know where to begin. - no surprise that yet again you manage to trot out your old mantra about sales (only this time it's with figures) as you've been going on and on and on and on about this for a whole year (it's getting rather tired).
So you think Abby "rapes" her ex partner? Really? Seriously? I think you're the wierdo here if that's what you believe to be the case. It was a well written and character driven piece of the narrative and rather touching. And as for people who enjoy playing the character being a psychopath? Again, really? Absolutely hysterical and hilarious. I take it you feel the same way about people playing as Joel or Ellie? Considering how many people they torture and murder?
"I don't have problem with the game killing joel, it's just that if nd want to kill him, do it right. I don't like it seems nd want to kill joel, so they goes like, 'whatever, just kill him quickly'. "
They didn't "kill him quickly" he was tortured FFS!
"There's so many coincidence that happen so abby can kill joel, from ellie that smoking drugs and having sex (in lone house in the middle of zombie apocalypse, maybe she becomes stupid with age) rather than patrolling the road"
She wasn't in a "lone house" she was in a well hidden basement area that had been undiscovered for years that another character was using. And as for the "coincidence" and Ellie being "stupid with age"? This is called narrative and exploring the relationship between Dina and Ellie. The consumption of the joint would have lowered inhibitions and led to them making the decision to make out rather than do their patrol. There's absolutely NOTHING bad in the storytelling, yet you constantly attack it because you can't seem to understand its nuances.
"Joel is stupid enough to tell his real name to a group of suspect individual. It just bad story telling."
There was nothing suspect about Abby or the others for Joel to withhold his name. What would Joel have to fear from a group of young kids? As it turns out, plenty but that again is great narrative.
"Gameplay wise the game is great but I prefer the first game, the first game is a pure horror game, not action horror or survival horror, but the second game is more action horror. I like action horror but for me the first game is already perfect gameplay wise."
And here you go again contradicting yourself. You claim the first game is pure horror and say you like action horror but prefer the first game despite saying that the second game is action horror. This confusion is guaranteed with any posts regarding this game coming from @wiiware and we'll be guaranteed that you'll continue to go on and on about the same topics should any game news about TLOU be published in future...
@Loftimus Bravo pour le clown. Get over yourself, you ain't smart, funny or clever, just an inconsequential, immature little man desperate for attention. Now off you pop petal and give your head a wobble.
@Spiders Yup, that's exactly how I felt and can't get my head round the comments on here saying it looks a bit "meh". I was afraid that Martin's involvement would dilute Miyazaki's genius, warped and twisted imagination. This looks to me a From Software and Miyazaki game through and through, only on a larger and more ambitious scale with flashy graphics and upgraded tech.
We've had the Soulsborne wannabes now it time for the Soulsborne creators to show how it's done. I literally cannot wait. - strange timing for the release though, I'd have thought they'd release in December for the Xmas market...
@wiiware And here we have yet another stealth comment about The Last Of Us Part II sales. You're obsessed, you've been going on and on and on about this for a year.
Back to Insomniac: Fantastic for the team that they have zero crunch, they've been knocking out hit after hit and it's great they can do so at leisure (of course, within reason), they must be an organised and disciplined crew. They'll no doubt be taking a well earned break before they jump into their next production...
Have some cheese with your whine and keep telling yourself that it's 10/10".
No I'm actually contributing to the discussion which you seem to lack the IQ to be able to do so in a mature manner. It's not bright nor clever to insult strangers on the Internet (which you seem fond of in your short time here), as it just betrays you as an immature, inconsequential little boy. Now off you pop petal and give your head a wobble.
@KundaliniRising333 Sorry but you can warp into areas on foot, you can warp across areas on the map to give you a battle advantage, and you can also walk into rifts between completely different areas with seamless transitions. So there isn't just on-rails sequences where the feature is used, it's throughout the game. So as I said, NO gimmick and to suggest it was/is is hardly complimentary!
@get2sammyb Your cons seem unnecessary "A little too easy" - well the game has been made to be accessible to all, if you found it too easy you could very well have chosen the two harder settings. As others have said a ridiculous reason to mark it down! "Hacking minigame is disorientating" - It's meant to be!
And in your review you mention "SSD set-pieces are primarily gimmicks"? And then say it's "not a negative". How so?
Gimmick noun [ C ] mainly disapproving
1."Something that is not serious or of real value that is used to attract people's attention or interest temporarily, especially to make them buy something"
2."A concealed, usually devious aspect or feature of something, as a plan or deal"
3.Verb (used with object) "To equip or embellish with unnecessary features, especially in order to increase salability, acceptance, etc"
The definitions of gimmick certainly sound pretty negative to me!
According to Digital Foundry the SSD is a "game changer", they also said "There are no tricks here, nothing like this could be achieved on last-gen hardware: it's both a physically striking feature and one that is instrumental to the way Rift Apart plays" - so you think it's a "gimmick" and Digital Foundry (whose breakdowns I trust implicitly) think it's a "physically striking game changer and feature" and certainly nothing resembling a gimmick...
Anyhoo the game looks stunning (I'd advise you guys to have a look at the Digital Foundry tech review) and I can't wait to play it though I'll have to wait despite having it on pre-order as I sold my 2 dualsense controllers and pre-ordered the new black ones (which will go lovely with my black PS5 faceplates)...
I had a hunch this was going to be a bit meh despite having my pre-order for the Collector's Edition locked-in months ago. 4 days before release I decided to cancel as I had a feeling this wasn't what it initially looked to be. It looks like I made the correct decision and saved myself £100!
@playstation1995 Why are you using the term "Word up, son" that PushSquare's Associate Editor, Stephen Tailby @Quintumply uses as his profile signature?
Back to the movie, hopefully this won't be too bad. It's Sony's largest franchise and I'm sure they'd want to make sure everything is perfect. I'm quietly optimistic...
Phantom Abyss and Death’s Door certainly look fascinating. I don't think I like this new day-glo look for Shadow Warrior so I'll be giving that one a swerve. Guaranteed one of these unannounced titles is Darkest Dungeon 2 - the original is brilliant torturous fun and I'm definitely up for that, it'll be interesting to see what new elements they bring to the gameplay.
This looks gorgeous and very Bloodborne looking (which is a major plus in my book). The aesthetics of the game world are accordingly inspired by the Belle Époque - a French and European period that was characterised by optimism, regional peace, economic prosperity, colonial expansion, and technological, scientific, and cultural innovations.
All that alone piques my interest and makes this a must have for me. Hopefully the gameplay will be as deep as how the story looks...
@wiiware "most people don't remember demon's souls ps3 originated from sony wanting to have exclusive answer to bethesda rpg (that's exclusive to xbox at that time)"
That's complete BS. Demon's Souls was picked up cheap by Sony for the Japanese Market ONLY. Bethesda's RPG's were ARPG's and not successful in the Japanese Market. When Demon's Souls was being imported from gamers in the US and Europe, Sony then gave the game a release in those markets. Demon's Souls and its gameplay and style are completely different from ARPG's.
I know what I'm talking about here, I have the Demon's Souls Artbooks, and the 2 volume Dark Souls: Beyond The Grave books (which cover all the Soulsborne games). All have interviews with From Software designers, Miyazaki and development people from Sony...
@4kgk2 Bethesda have been releasing their games on the same broken engine for years. It's a tired, old POS that they claim to upgrade with each release but it's still the same ugly defective mess!
"Oops. I'm in part to blame for that. I have somehow already purchased 12 boxed games (granted that includes a free Borderlands 3 upgrade and a ten pound Tony Hawks upgrade)"
Not wanting to boast here but I'm in a similar position with 16 physical PS5 games! (I have no dependents and lockdown gave me more disposable income). I'll bet there's a lot of people in identical circumstances that've been able to support Sony and the PS5 in the launch period.
Xbox numbers should be good too but I can't imagine they have great software sales, they only had two titles in the launch window and only have BC to rely on (for the moment). Nintendo (obviously) didn't have a console launch, but this pandemic period would have been beneficial to them too with sales of hardware and software being strong...
So all this doom and gloom about Sony shutting down and shutting out the Japanese markets were all a bit hysterical then? Glad to see that Sony had plans rather than just closing down studios...
@wiiware XDEV don't need to contact From Software for Bloodborne 2 as Sony will no doubt already be looking at a sequel. It's possible that Bloodborne 2 could already be in production, as it's known that From Software are working on two titles at the moment, one of which of course is Elden Ring, with the other as yet unannounced ...
This looks incredible and from this short clip shows that next gen is past tense as it's here NOW! I'll need to drag out the PS4 remake (which Is still on my backlog pile) to play beforehand to get me in the mood, although I'll have to put down Returnal and RE8 to do so!
“She'll follow you about and make her presence known in the same way Mr X did in Resident Evil 2.”
"I suppose we can expect this annoying feature in every RE game going forward"
Eh? It's been in Resident Evil games since the beginning.
Mr X in RE2.
Nemesis in RE3.
Tyrant/T-078 in RE: Code Veronica X.
Mendez in RE4.
Jack in RE7
Lady Dimitrescu in RE8
So this is not a new "annoying feature" as you can see, and if they are utilising this "in every RE game going forward" they'd only be following the established template
Xbox really don't seem to have any "Exclusive to Xbox" games in it's first year of release apart from Halo Infinite and Forza, as The Medium and now S. T. A. L. K. E. R. 2 seem to be timed. The Hellblade sequel might be next year, but anything from the Bethesda deal will be a good few years. So what will they have meanwhile to keep them going? Just indies?
Sony meanwhile have an indie slate too, but are knocking exclusive blockbusters out the park, and I'm sure there's going to be some big announcements coming (the next Kojima game and the From Software title that's in production alongside Elden Ring). It's an exciting time to be a PS5 player...
Why are people hollering and moaning about this? Pretty much every single rogue-like game has this set up and have major plaudits from both gamers and the gaming press and no one complains about progress being wiped and having to start over - Returnal is actually more forgiving as you keep upgrades/weapons and get a save point half-way through and don't have to repeat bosses.
It's the same people who were crying out for Sekiro to be more "accessible" (having difficulty levels) and wanting Demon's Souls to be easier. Housemarque should stick to their guns and have Returnal as the game they developed (I'm playing it and it's not that difficult). People will just have to realise that this game and the Soulsborne titles are in a sub-genre that aren't for them - there's plenty of other games out there!
@Ear_wiG, @LordSteev. Fair enough. I do get your point, however I can't imagine playing games like Nioh, Ghost Of Tsushima and Sekiro in English language. The English soundtrack may be very well done, but in many instances the English dub is "dumbed down" (as with some movies) with the original being more poetic and nuanced.
*As for the game? It looks gorgeous and it's got my attention. I agree that it's certainly not original, cribbing from Devil May Cry, FF and a few others in the mix - let's see how it pans out. I'm certainly intrigued...
@LordSteev, @Ear_wiG I actually prefer playing JRPG's with original voice acting and subs as I think it adds to the authenticity (especially with period pieces). I work in an Art-House cinema and watch/collect a lot of foreign movies at home, so I'm quite used to them and can keep up with the subs quite quickly.
I don't get how this is a con, surely this is the same for every single shooting game ever produced? Anyhoo mine's has just arrived, but I have to go out for a while and won't be able to get stuck in until later this evening. Pleased that it seems to be getting favourable reviews all-round. I like a challenge so hopefully this won't faze me (apart from my old bones not being quick enough!)
@Spaldy "However, before they do that I'd like to see the remake cancelled as there's no need for one and instead have TLOU1&2 upgraded for the PS5 with higher framerates and resolutions"
I don't think there's a remake at all and believe it's just been misinterpreted. What we will get (IMO) is a new remaster of the first game to bring it to PS5 and a native PS5 version of the second game with all bells and whistles. They'll be released in a double pack which will include the Factions multiplayer mode...
@wiiware Are you STILL going on about TLOU2 being a failure? Give it up already, it's only you saying so and it's getting a bit tired. You sound like a broken record!
Yes. Yes. YES! Final trailer looks excellent. Mine's has just been dispatched and I can't wait to get stuck in...
@Juanalf
"I applaud Sony for pushing a different type of game than the usual but there should be a demo or some deep dive explanation as to what type of game this is, this also applies to Demon's souls.
These are difficult games for casuals or even some regular gamers so they should know what they are getting into before they purchase said games."
Housemarque have said in numerous interviews (video and print) that the game will be fair but challenging, and there's also been several gameplay videos. It's a rogue-like action RPG - if that's not for you then perhaps you'll need to look elsewhere.
And as for Demon's Souls? Why should Sony have to explain an already established (by the developer) template? Demon's Souls is a remake of a 12 year old game, why should Sony have to explain it?. From Software have now made 6 games under the "Soulsborne" umbrella and ALL of them are known as difficult but rewarding action/RPGs. How on earth are you not aware of this?. - Again perhaps those games aren't for you and you need to look elsewhere...
I was waiting for a native PS5 version (I assume they have a different team working on that) but I'm not so sure I really want it, unless they sort out the PS3 era physics (which I'm sure they won't/can't as it's built into the game engine). The physics should be as engaging as the game itself and I'm afraid I'd find myself too critical of why enviroments aren't reacting to bullets/explosions or such which would ruin any immersive experience for me.
@RBMango "Very clear Sunset Overdrive influence on some of the gameplay"
Really? The gameplay elements for Ratchet & Clank have been in place for over 23 years, if anything Sunset Overdrive had a very clear Ratchet & Clank influence in its gameplay!
Back to the game. This looks amazing and the graphics are off the scale. The HDR on this is going to look superb. Absolutely, definitely a day one release for me...
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L You're doing well for a Soulsborne newcomer going for NG+ on Demon's Souls, it can be a bitch but so rewarding (as all the SB games are). Once you get into the mechanics of Bloodborne you'll love it, it's From Software and Miyazaki's masterpiece and initially threw From fans used to Demon's/Dark Souls defensive strategies - having no shields was a bit of a shock!
And of course Sekiro continued Bloodborne's template (with added twists). Miyazaki wanted to keep the fans on their toes by delivering something different to the formula. If it is to be offered on PS+ a lot of people who haven't had the opportunity to play it should be happy - and if they're struggling the community is very helpful and friendly (as they are with all the SB games)
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L If you didn't like Bloodborne there's zero chance you'll be able to handle Sekiro as that features the same offensive fighting with no defence. In Sekiro you have to get your timing bang-on otherwise you'll reach an impenetrable wall. Like Bloodborne and the other Soulsborne games, you need to think rather than just rush in otherwise you'll die. A lot!
Mmmmm colour me intrigued. It looks good, I am though wary that this has just popped up from knowhere 3 months before release - much like Werewolf: The Reckoning, and that turned out to be a bit of a stinker. Worth waiting till the native PS5 version?
I had no interest in it until I seen the developer videos and now it's a day one release for me. I managed to get it from The Game Collection on Fleabay for £62 using the PARCEL10 code for 10% off
@ItsLeviosaaaa Yup, my bad. I knew Replicant was the first game, and meant to say I've had (and not played) Nier Automata and looking forward to the first game!
@B_Lindz Sounds good. And now I'll get to play both in succession. I have over a dozen physical PS5 games (plus digital) yet I'm still getting through a massive backlog of PS4 titles. I've actually played more PS4 titles on PS5!
@hobbes242 Yup absolutely ridiculous voice-over. That aside the game looks well creepy, I loves horror games and this is definitely right up my street...

Seriously dude, this is getting so, so tiresome.
Re: Reaction: Messy Ghost of Tsushima Upgrade Makes PS5 for the Payers
@nessisonett
Re: Sony Acquisition of Bluepoint Games Supposedly Leaked by Image Mistake
@Oval_Griffin
"Demon's Souls for PS5 should have had the same dark aesthetic as the PS3 one though. It should not be cinematic and very bright, but it is".
You can change settings in the menu as there's 8 visual filters, "classic" being the first that makes the game look more like the original.
Re: PS5, PS4's Elden Ring Is 'Very Difficult But Can Be Handled'
@huyi
"entitlement" dark souls fans are so toxic 🙄🙄
Ermmm sorry, but no. You've got that one completely and categorically wrong. Soulsborne fans are some of the best and most welcoming communities on-line (apart from a few plonkers!) They go out of their way to help and guide "newbies" to the games either on forums or by introducing them to the best online sources and guides (written by the same fans and communities).
@UltimateOtaku91
It's YOU!
Re: The Last of Us 2 Celebrates First Anniversary with New Merch
@wiiware
Re: Jim Ryan on Cyberpunk 2077: Sony Didn't Want to 'Sell a Game That Might Result in a Bad Experience'
@Loftimus Bravo pour le clown. Get over yourself, you ain't smart, funny or clever, just an inconsequential, immature little man desperate for attention. Now off you pop petal and give your head a wobble.
Re: Elden Ring Dated for January 2022 on PS5, PS4 in New Trailer
Re: Jim Ryan on Cyberpunk 2077: Sony Didn't Want to 'Sell a Game That Might Result in a Bad Experience'
@Loftimus Wind your neck in. WTF does commenting personal remarks have to do with video games?
Re: Insomniac Devs Say Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Was Made without Crunch
@wiiware And here we have yet another stealth comment about The Last Of Us Part II sales. You're obsessed, you've been going on and on and on about this for a year.
Back to Insomniac: Fantastic for the team that they have zero crunch, they've been knocking out hit after hit and it's great they can do so at leisure (of course, within reason), they must be an organised and disciplined crew. They'll no doubt be taking a well earned break before they jump into their next production...
Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (PS5) - Intergalactic Stunner Puts PS5's Power on Display
@Porkman85
"Crying because it didn't get a 10? Weird.
Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (PS5) - Intergalactic Stunner Puts PS5's Power on Display
How so?
Gimmick
noun [ C ] mainly disapproving
1."Something that is not serious or of real value that is used to attract people's attention or interest temporarily, especially to make them buy something"
2."A concealed, usually devious aspect or feature of something, as a plan or deal"
3.Verb (used with object)
"To equip or embellish with unnecessary features, especially in order to increase salability, acceptance, etc"
Re: Biomutant (PS4) - The Classic Case of What Could Have Been
I had a hunch this was going to be a bit meh despite having my pre-order for the Collector's Edition locked-in months ago. 4 days before release I decided to cancel as I had a feeling this wasn't what it initially looked to be. It looks like I made the correct decision and saved myself £100!
Re: PlayStation Fans Aren't Happy with This New Uncharted Movie Picture
@playstation1995 Why are you using the term "Word up, son" that PushSquare's Associate Editor, Stephen Tailby @Quintumply uses as his profile signature?
Back to the movie, hopefully this won't be too bad. It's Sony's largest franchise and I'm sure they'd want to make sure everything is perfect. I'm quietly optimistic...
Re: Devolver Digital Planning Four Game Reveals for Summer Game Fest
Phantom Abyss and Death’s Door certainly look fascinating. I don't think I like this new day-glo look for Shadow Warrior so I'll be giving that one a swerve. Guaranteed one of these unannounced titles is Darkest Dungeon 2 - the original is brilliant torturous fun and I'm definitely up for that, it'll be interesting to see what new elements they bring to the gameplay.
Re: Lies of P Is a Pinocchio-Inspired Souls-Like Action RPG Coming to PS5
This looks gorgeous and very Bloodborne looking (which is a major plus in my book). The aesthetics of the game world are accordingly inspired by the Belle Époque - a French and European period that was characterised by optimism, regional peace, economic prosperity, colonial expansion, and technological, scientific, and cultural innovations.
All that alone piques my interest and makes this a must have for me. Hopefully the gameplay will be as deep as how the story looks...
Re: Don't Hold Your Breath for Bethesda's Starfield on PS5, PS4
Re: PS5 Users Are Playing More and Buying More Than PS4 Early Adopters
@Rob_230
Re: Sony XDEV Recruiting Producers for AAA PS5, PS4 Games in Japan and Asia
So all this doom and gloom about Sony shutting down and shutting out the Japanese markets were all a bit hysterical then? Glad to see that Sony had plans rather than just closing down studios...
@wiiware XDEV don't need to contact From Software for Bloodborne 2 as Sony will no doubt already be looking at a sequel. It's possible that Bloodborne 2 could already be in production, as it's known that From Software are working on two titles at the moment, one of which of course is Elden Ring, with the other as yet unannounced ...
Re: First Impressions: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Is an Eye-Popping Demonstration of PS5's Power
This looks incredible and from this short clip shows that next gen is past tense as it's here NOW! I'll need to drag out the PS4 remake (which Is still on my backlog pile) to play beforehand to get me in the mood, although I'll have to put down Returnal and RE8 to do so!
Re: Resident Evil Village (PS5) - Capcom's Best Horror Game for 16 Years
@fR_eeBritney
Re: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Has No PS5 Plans for Now
Xbox really don't seem to have any "Exclusive to Xbox" games in it's first year of release apart from Halo Infinite and Forza, as The Medium and now S. T. A. L. K. E.
Re: Housemarque Acknowledges Request for Mid-Run Saves in Returnal
Re: Lost Soul Aside Confirmed for PS5 with Native Version
@Ear_wiG, @LordSteev. Fair enough. I do get your point, however I can't imagine playing games like Nioh, Ghost Of Tsushima and Sekiro in English language. The English soundtrack may be very well done, but in many instances the English dub is "dumbed down" (as with some movies) with the original being more poetic and nuanced.
*As for the game? It looks gorgeous and it's got my attention. I agree that it's certainly not original, cribbing from Devil May Cry, FF and a few others in the mix - let's see how it pans out. I'm certainly intrigued...
Re: Lost Soul Aside Confirmed for PS5 with Native Version
@LordSteev, @Ear_wiG I actually prefer playing JRPG's with original voice acting and subs as I think it adds to the authenticity (especially with period pieces). I work in an Art-House cinema and watch/collect a lot of foreign movies at home, so I'm quite used to them and can keep up with the subs quite quickly.
Re: Returnal (PS5) - Housemarque's Deep, Dark Shooter Is a PS5 Must Have
"Some weapons are just better than others"
I don't get how this is a con, surely this is the same for every single shooting game ever produced? Anyhoo mine's has just arrived, but I have to go out for a while and won't be able to get stuck in until later this evening. Pleased that it seems to be getting favourable reviews all-round. I like a challenge so hopefully this won't faze me (apart from my old bones not being quick enough!)
Re: The Last of Us 3 Story Outline Has Been Written, Says Neil Druckmann
Re: Returnal's Ready for Release with Intriguing PS5 Launch Trailer
Yes. Yes. YES! Final trailer looks excellent. Mine's has just been dispatched and I can't wait to get stuck in...
@Juanalf
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.22 Out Now, Promises Yet More Fixes and Performance Boosts on PS5, PS4
Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Gameplay Trailer Looks Simply Sublime
@RBMango "Very clear Sunset Overdrive influence on some of the gameplay"
Really? The gameplay elements for Ratchet & Clank have been in place for over 23 years, if anything Sunset Overdrive had a very clear Ratchet & Clank influence in its gameplay!
Back to the game. This looks amazing and the graphics are off the scale. The HDR on this is going to look superb. Absolutely, definitely a day one release for me...
Re: Talking Point: What Free May 2021 PS Plus Games Do You Want?
@Feithevillain Your on the wrong thread and I already addressed the issue on the correct thread!
Re: Next-Gen Showcase Godfall Seems Poised for PS4
@SoulsBourne128 Because no doubt they've signed a contract with Sony to make it exclusive to Sony hardware.
Re: Talking Point: What Free May 2021 PS Plus Games Do You Want?
Re: Talking Point: What Free May 2021 PS Plus Games Do You Want?
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L If you didn't like Bloodborne there's zero chance you'll be able to handle Sekiro as that features the same offensive fighting with no defence. In Sekiro you have to get your timing bang-on otherwise you'll reach an impenetrable wall. Like Bloodborne and the other Soulsborne games, you need to think rather than just rush in otherwise you'll die. A lot!
Re: Survival Horror RPG Chernobylite Irradiates PS4 in July, PS5 Later This Year
Mmmmm colour me intrigued. It looks good, I am though wary that this has just popped up from knowhere 3 months before release - much like Werewolf: The Reckoning, and that turned out to be a bit of a stinker. Worth waiting till the native PS5 version?
Re: PS5 Fans Ponder What Sony's Soho Engine Could Be
Yup it'll be The Getaway for PSVR2. Guaranteed...
Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying Returnal?
I had no interest in it until I seen the developer videos and now it's a day one release for me. I managed to get it from The Game Collection on Fleabay for £62 using the PARCEL10 code for 10% off
Re: NieR Replicant Shows Off All of Its Added Content, Including 15 Nightmares Dungeon, Outfits, and a New Story
Re: Song of Horror Brings Back Classic Survival Horror on PS4 Next Month
@hobbes242 Yup absolutely ridiculous voice-over. That aside the game looks well creepy, I loves horror games and this is definitely right up my street...
