Being honest I don’t play old games really to many new ones at the moment. Even though I can on GPU, it is wasted on me.

But I will also be honest and Sony are bare minimum at most things the last two years and so are Nintendo even with switch 2 that I have preordered but might surrender it, looking at their in house AAA release line up and the rest of this year.

Not sure what’s up with these big companies but it isn’t like it used to be. I’m sure it’s so much more about the money now a days.

They can show what they like, until I see hud gameplay and panning around etc then I’m not getting that hyped.

Now if they should real hud game play on Pro at 60fps then it’s orgasam time.

Of course it doesn’t make good business, one reason we had lots of cross generation games this generation.

I just think this generation really has held back current hardware and what a game can really be in the hardware because of costs, more than any other generation.

I would love every game to be the best it can be for the hardware and the game, so yes make the best and only the best everything can possibly be.

It’s is only part of the story, this generation is more about budget and the budget then dictates the use of the consoles capabilities.
Just look at the time and budget for GTA6 that really will fully utilise the consoles power.
Basically this generation it’s not much to do with console power but the budget and time to use the consoles power and there definitely has not been much of that this generation I’m afraid.

Please yes, I never play at 30fps and would be happy never to see it ever again.

If it’s all real and then is the NEW level.

Then we have no need for new generation and other developers of course maybe o not have the skills, time or money to develop a game like this at this level.

Basically we are force fed new hardware and it really isn’t needed.

It is not great to not have the best clarity on PS5 Pro.
Wonder if it is PSSR which in some games does reduce shimmer and pixel crawl like in Assassins creed shadows and is brilliant, but it seems to have a little side effect of reducing picture clarity. It’s sort of weird really and probably some tech thing, but not clever for a £700 console.

It’s was a very simple comparison, not meant to be to specific, just a little simple way to compare.

It will probably go like this if each console is maximised to performance.

Series s - 4tflops
PS5 - 10tflops
Series x - 12tflops
PS5 Pro - 16tflops

Simple really just go on tflops

If it does in real gameplay play and look like this and motion is great with no pixel creep or shimmering then it definitely gives Sonys own studios something to aim for going forward.

Perhaps I’m just keep that hype in check until I see gameplay and what the 30fps pans around , motion blur and pixel creep etc.
I never play any game at 30fps now, can’t stand it.
Look at AC shadow even at 60fps until the Pro PSSR update came out you had slight blur and pixel creep and shimmer at 60fps on Pro.

The patch and PSSR did an amazing job of getting rid of all that and looks great now.

GTA6 takes graphics to the next level but let’s see real gameplay and gameplay motion.

Staying real and out of hype.

I’m really after 60fps on the Pro.
If they use the Pro to all its advantages and PSSR very well, and Sonys help, I think they can do it.

Not a problem and yes this is Rockstar and if anyone can they can.
But there is plenty of marketing in that trailer if you know what I mean.
Time will tell, well actually next year 🤣

When I see real gameplay and how it handles I will pay more attention then next year.

I’m just waiting for that unreal 5 demo to actually be the remaster of Halo and to be announced at the June Xbox show case for Xbox and PS.

Does make me laugh about game prices increasing and the out cry.

Then the more expensive digital deluxe edition is number one in the pre orders.

The same if you look at Doom in number 4 and 5 the far more expensive deluxe edition ahead of the cheaper standard edition.

Now we know some of the reason game prices are on the increase, the companies see this and think gamers like to spend more and have the money to do so.

There also is a bit of an industrial trend going at the moment more than usual.
If you sell 100 items for £50 you make £5000
If you sell 50 items for £100 you make £5000
Now you make the same money but for less production effort by making 50 less items which normally will make more profit.

Now that has become more important than selling the most, it’s the same in the car industry and others and consoles are following that trend.
Of course it’s a little more complicated with cross over points etc.
But selling the most isn’t the main goal anymore, maximising production cost to selling profit is.

Why don’t they just import the consoles straight from China to Europe.
Europe should not have to share the higher costs of Trumps Tariffs.
It’s just also a lazy excuse to increase UK and Europe prices and spread the tariff costs outside the USA

Well Microsoft doesn’t really want to sell consoles anyway, so I guess they think we are not gonna sell at loss.

My Pro has started finally giving me what I want like in Hogwarts and Assassins creed shadows. 60fps with better resolution but importantly zero shimmer and pixel crawl, when panning around, which all other consoles still get.

The PS5 Pro at £700 with that 2tb ssd storage and other upgrades, even though a bit expensive is looking better everyday now price wise.

Never been into BL but this number 4 looks good.
Was running on Pro and looked sharp, clean and smooth even on the streaming.

It’s all hype like most of gaming media and industry is at the moment

Well something will clash with GTA6
You have Ghost of Y in October, not that Sony really celebrated the date announcement.
Maybe good or bad I’m not sure 🤔

Then the yearly FIFA and COD.
So something will be near to GTA6 release and I’ve probably missed so many games and not mentioned Nintendo.

Nintendo do make some outstanding games.
But if was to cost the pure resource time on a Nintendo game, when looking at the assets etc of the game etc.

There is no way the Nintendo games costs more to make than day Ghost of Yotei.

Nintendo getting greedy and lazy at times.

I mean look at the switch 2 pro controller, more expensive in the UK than the Sony far more features duelsense controller.

As we say the masses and general public and casuals don’t really want it or are not ready for it.

It is strange as many I know won’t subscribe to a game service, but have Amazon prime, Netflix and Disney.

I believe it is because it is not an advertised and fully cohesive approach by all the big three, that this the future and the way we are going.

So I don’t think Nintendo or Sony really want it, the general public don’t want it.
So that leaves Microsoft flogging a dead horse.
There’s a surprise.

Seems crazy and not putting the blame on anyone.
But the amount the game development studio industry has just written off in time and money over the roughly the past 2 years is absolutely staggering. It must be getting near billions.

Just imagine if the correct decisions where made at the beginning we could have had about 5 new massive top quality AAA games out of all that wasted time and money at least.

Played on series x when originally released so not double dipping on Pro
7/8 out of 10.
Did have some great moments and I did enjoy the first person view.
For content I put it a bit behind Avowed and further more behind Assassin’s creed shadows.

This seems a good advancement and looks well for future Xbox titles coming over.
Shall see what DOOM comes like on the Pro.

I guessed September so not far out with the 2nd of October.

Watched Gaming Tech video.
Series x, PS5 and Pro not overall great.
Resolution goes very very slightly to Pro.
30fps and 60fps frame rate gets lower, pacing bad and stuttering.
Pro does come out top of a bad bunch.

I think a patch may have been released not sure and what it does.

Shall wait now for patches to improve the frame rate.

Go to DF they say the performance mode 60fps is a good improvement on the Pro.
Also up on Pure Xbox.

Enjoyed the game on game pass and got into it and was really surprised.

Gonna be interesting to see the sales numbers on PS5, was it worth them porting it over from a return on investment perspective.

Thing Xbox really forget that lose that really want to play Xbox games in the masses have an Xbox and/or Gamepass. Selling these games to the PS5 FIFA and COD and Sony AAA studio gang won’t happen. Also everything is so expensive nowadays so kids and parents are more choosy.

Makes me think all these games releasing and then into next year 2026 gonna get totally smashed wrongly or rightly by GTA6 and also Mario Kart World but a bit more long term.

Sales or up take records will be broken and fastest selling etc and the internet will be focused on that.

I guess like Avowed then sort of.
I bet it saves a lot of time and gives developers a lot less head ache than totally pure open world.

Probably the best PS5 Pro uptick this game when PSSR was used the right way.

Series x, PS5 and PS5 Pro had bad pixel crawl and shimmering when panning due to complex graphics and Ubisoft upscaler.

The pro PSSR update just took away all that pixel crawl and shimmering when panning and the game looks loads better for it.

Also everyone forgets Switch 2 in handheld mode is only 1.7 tflops and all games have to work for the lowest common denominator.

Yes when docked it can up the resolution and fps, but it won’t change the base games.
Level of detail, draw distance and characters on screen etc.

It made me smile.

Switch is 3.1 tflops
PS4 Pro 4.2 tflops

If we allow a bit more on Switch 2 for more modern tech, then at the very best it’s at PS4 Pro levels.

It’s simple the day we see a Switch 2 game running at PS4 Pro levels of Horizon Forbidden West with all the trimmings and no cut backs when DOCKED to be fair, will be the day I pass out.

Watched last night S2 E1 was great.
It’s was totally a Sony night.
Watched on a Sony A95L TV in 4K HDR Dolby Atmos of course with my Sony soundbar rear speakers and Sub Woofer.
Just before I was playing Assassins on my PS5 Pro.

To be fair I did my house chores first 🤣

That’s why I can’t see what all the outcry is about really, Also Sony about three times a year offer great shop discounts like the one at the moment with Astro Bot.

Yes no one likes price increases but it’s not a crazy increase.

Well maybe it’s that Xbox is next to nothing in Europe but in the USA they are a bit of competition for Sony console wise.
So Sony won’t increase the PS5 price to keep the competitive edge of Xbox consoles in the USA.
It is so different to Sonys new 2025 TVs this year for the first time, where the TVs are cheaper in the UK than the USA by about £500 when they release this year.

What everyone forgets on here it means.

But let’s not forget how many will be a very weak Switch 2 at 3.1tflop for £400.

I’m not surprised at all especially after the switch 2 prices in the UK.
SWITCH 2 is £400 for a 3.1 tflop console.
The PS5 disc less 10.28 tflop for £430.

Being on a disc in fairness is better than digital only as you can sell it later on.
