Love em or hate em, Sony marketing is so spot on. As Xbox and PC don’t really advertise the whole general public and world will think these are all PS5 only and this is the only console you can play these games on 10/10 for PR yet again.
And to top it off now with Halo, it is just mind blowing to an old gamer that used to be an xboxer more than PS, until the PS4 era started turning me.

Anyway many games to play in that trailer and look forward to.

I got adventurer as I do every year.
Low one this year total hours 96.

Will be interesting to see what switch and Xbox come back with.

But like last year I think PS will be last.
They were top in the first two PS5 release years
And second in year 3. But the big campaign AAA exclusives from Sony dried up a bit since then.

Was terrible blow them cancelling PD, was one I was really looking forward to.
Now I’m just keeping an eye on Fable, hoping that game is not next.

I have always said all 3 manufacturers mug us off.
This is most definitely not just Sony.
Also if you go back further on this article I posted how good Sony marketing is and how rubbish Xbox marketing is and they are a failure.
You chose to read some of it and shout fan boy, Sony I love you.

Sony declared after the first 2 years of the PS5 they had just started making money on the consoles. That’s was 3 years ago.
They also declared they are now making more profit per console sold than with the PS4.

It’s simple because all those things you have picked are food or electricity, stuff you mainly cannot live without for survival. So they take advantage.

Go look at the electronics market like TVs, air fryers etc where there are about ten different manufacturers including from countries companies like South Korea or China.
They create more competition.

Yes you are right the world is expensive, but to say these 3 console manufacturers don’t take advantage is being blind.

We should all never want any big console supplier to die.
We need the competition more than ever now.
There is only three of them if you included Xbox and it is almost a monopoly and that’s why prices are high.
There is no competition like in the car and TV market as we only have 3 consoles suppliers not 10 plus.

They have us cornered and they know it.

Yes it’s all marketing and sales generation, which Sony are very good at.
Me being old always thinks you can sell it at that cheaper price and still make money then how much are you making on each unit at RRP.

But generally it’s all about getting the product out at Christmas etc and making more in the games and subscriptions later on.
Also if you sell more you saturate the market more with your product.
That is one of the massive failures of Xbox this generation, totally clueless when it comes to the games market, even after doing so much right in the xbox360 era.

Switch 2 says hello to Japan and the USA.
Europe is Sony territory.

But I will take a bet with you the switch 2 will sell more consoles worldwide in its lifetime than the PS5.

Now back to the inflated greedy corporate prices. That goes for all the big 3.

The only way Sony will get the Japanese market back is having something like the switch 2.
Then it will not be first and may not succeed.

It’s great all this turns up, but why oh why are these performances levels not there on day of release.

Yes another reason apart from price to hold off on new games for a good few months.
You pay less and get the best version.

PlayStation rule Europe and the UK and the PS5 Black Friday deals are the best console deals out of all the big three. Actually I think they are the only ones that did real BF deals the other two were terrible.

Sonys marketing is always the best and has been for years.

I had a mum come into my office at work this week and had to take her through the BF deals and what PS5 to buy, disc or no disc or Pro.
She settled on a PS5 disc edition for her son.

I’ve now decided to call big game development human cell replacement.

It’s not an exact science but big game development taking about 6 to 7 years is about the same time the average adult human body has replaced every single cell in the human body.

Also you could have got a least one PHD and become a Doctor in what ever and done many things in your life.

My thinking as individuals in that time we can achieve so much.

But it takes roughly a group of say 300 plus humans 6 years or so to make a big AAA video game. It really doesn’t add up.

Initially with my day one PS5 and the first two years it’s an outstanding definitely 10/10 for me.
Since then for me personally it’s gone down hill since.
There have not been enough Sony Studios amazing AAA campaign games, since the first two years and not forgetting most of them were cross generation games but amazing all the same.
Just take ND, their first ever new PS5 game in 2027, seven years after the PS5 release date.

The new Sony drum beat is one massive big AAA game per year from their studios and we know the games and release dates.
2025 GOY and that was below 90 on meta.

Basically, started amazing and been a damp squib 🦑 since and just ok.

Nothing like the outstanding PS4 era that ND produced 3 new games for as an example.

Really, with other electronic products going downwards in price and cars.
And better deals and discounts about.

It’s about competition and the console market doesn’t really have any that is why we are getting mugged off with prices.

We need to bring more consoles made by owners from different countries
Bring in the South Koreans and the Chinese then watch Sony etc panic. Because they can’t inflate prices.

If it wasn’t for say the Chinese and South Koreans, cars and other electronic products TVs etc would cost double by now.

Japan and USA manufacturers have mugged us off for years with many products then China and South Korea started making their products and selling to the west. That kept prices far more stable.

Let’s be honest at this stage Microsoft don’t care about console sales and probably think we will charge as much as we want.
The only thing keeping Xbox consoles alive is the thought of Microsoft losing those game pass subs that are left on Xbox consoles a good 10 million or so. Xbox consoles have the biggest game pass attach rate.

Anyway as I have said before all these console price increases are a scam for the companies to make even more profit per unit. We all know it but some fans like to ignore it, we are getting mugged off constantly.

Could have done this ages ago and in all regions and looking at the UK amazing PS5 Black Friday deals. The console is way overpriced at its usual RRP.
And we know that from Sonys own accounts saying they are making more profit per unit and they did with the PS4.
That’s profit by the way.

Does not mean the other two are not doing the same and probably are, but this constant excuses for high prices are corporate lies and money making schemes.
Not just in gaming, but gaming is one of the worst.

For good or bad I’ve finally left the Xbox era that has run mainly on and off since the release day one of the original Xbox. Wanted to streamline as well due to time constraints down to 2 consoles as well.

The household and family and visitors also seem very happy with the 2 consoles I’ve kept and sadly not missing the one that left.

I have GPU but stacked so it’s there until it runs out. The only way I would renew is if Microsoft studios start producing a good supply of quality AAA games and give some indication of what they are really up to console wise, the truth no PR stuff.

Anyway I tried the campaign, yep it’s a bit weird and strange in most places. Gun play is good and graphics seem good and clean and it’s smooth. But definitely not a better campaign.

That is great news, if you are gonna produce absolute garbage when making a game it does not deserve to be purchased.

Well done gamers and the Sony gang, speak with your wallets.

Microsoft messed up their own console, isn’t it coincidence with game cancellations this year and now a rubbish COD, they are now messing their game studios and their games.
Someone spotted the pattern, totally incompetent company.

And before anyone starts having ago at my post.
It’s a business and facts are facts.
And I’m only pointing out the obvious, why Sony are not the juggernaut world wide they used to be.

Seems they really focus on Europe.
Even in the USA the switch 2 is keeping the PS5 at bay, being the top selling Console in October 2026.

The issue is the PS5 does not sell as much in the USA as the PS4 same timeline.
PS5 sales compared to the same month for the PS4 in 2018 are down by over 122,000 units.

If it was not for the amazing PS5 sales in Europe Sony would not be doing that great.
They need to focus as Europe is now Sonys only lead country over Nintendo.

And why, well I can only answer for me, why am I not play my PS5 Pro, serious lack of the PS4 days of big AAA campaign games of very well established franchises, that the PS5 lacks and has been a slow trickle since the first two years of the PS5.

Look at my switch 2 since launch from Nintendo. MKW, DKB and next month Metriod Prime 4. All big AAA from Nintendo.
Also with switch 2 starting to get better third party support with third party games like SW outlaws it’s making for a very good purchase over a PS5.

Switch and switch 2 in Japan is what PlayStation have done to Xbox in Europe

It’s amazing how the demographics of each of the 3 consoles and 3 main areas.
Japan, USA and Europe run so different.

Wow I have just seen the UK Black Friday deals in the shops this morning.
No wonder PS rules Europe.

How can you not fix the memory leak giving frame rate issues.
Who do these developers think they are.

I mean if you purchased a kettle and it messed up boiling some how sometimes, you would be straight back down the shop for a refund and given 30 days to do so and even though you used it.

This industry is going rotten.

I bet they could keep these sales prices going forward if they wished.
But at least they have a sale and the best sale unlike Xbox and Nintendo that don’t do much.

They used to be generous but unfortunately, it’s the times we are in.
I used to extend existing membership but can’t do that now.

This is why we need competition in the console market more.
Even if those don’t like Xbox, if they were big in the USA and doing well in Europe it would wake Sony up in those regions and keep them a bit more pure and honest in gamers favour on price and more consumer friendly.

Would not surprise me as Sony likes to keep its IP close to its consoles.
With the steam thing under the TV and the new Xbox hybrid under the TV.
All of a sudden you have some Sony first party exclusives under your TV not on a Sony home console.
And let’s not forget it is absolutely Sonys biggest cash cow.

No wonder the big AAA quality is lower than usually.
Probably another series that used score high 80s will end low 80s or less and below in quality again compared to the last 3 games.

Was really looking forward and had high hopes for this COD campaign.
Never mind Nintendo have just cheered me up with a new Metroid Prime 4 trailer and of course that’s where my money and time will go.
No wonder Xbox is in the position it’s in, it’s all about the games and they lost that years ago and now console and game pass sales.

Not sure if it’s ND or Sony to blame, but we will probably only get one PS5 ND game.

60hz TV was a must for that.

Yes around the world and not just consoles the pro-consumer era has disappeared.
That’s why I always try to stuck up for us the customer.
The bigger problem console world is owned by so few so they can control the market and prices more.
It’s not like cars or washing machines, where there is much more competition and the South Koreans etc joined in many years ago.

Ok sounds good, so why can’t we do this in all regions and bring the cost down around the world?

Additional no components have changed so it goes to show how much us gamers are getting mugged off price wise.

Sonys marketing is best of the big three.
Nintendo sometimes a close second for their specific market but not as spectacular

It’s not the point this generation
Started with cross generation then went a little ok, then remasters and the odd new game.
It’s limped along and now the fifth year has not moved on as a generation.
And we still getting old old remasters and cross generation games.

If PS4 era was 100%, this generation is about 35%.
We not even had one ND game yet and most of the other big games came at the start of generation and were cross generation.

Maybe I missed the point with my PS5 Pro but it seems half the impact of my then PS4 Pro.

And to top it all off, all this absolutely limp generation cost so so much more with no drop in prices.
It’s inflation and shrink flation combined in its worse form this generation and also very geeedy making more money and selling less companies.

Yep anyone that releases them, main campaign games are my bag, action, adventure, some RPG. Also open world.
Some examples from each company:
Uncharted series, Zelda series and Gears of war series.

And they are still at it, not the Sony I once new and loved.
