The Last of Us is growing in popularity.
This weekend, HBO debuted the first episode in the second season of its television adaptation, and viewers rose 10% over the original season’s premiere.
According to Deadline, the episode managed 5.3 million same-day cross-platform viewers in the US, up from 4.7 million. It shows that the series is getting bigger, as more fans get hooked on Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic world.
One other interesting statistic is that viewers of the original season rose by 150% over the past week, suggesting audiences have been scrambling to catch up on the story ahead of the new season airing.
We thought the first episode of season two was a strong one, with structural changes adding something fresh for those already intimately familiar with the game.
