@get2sammyb I know next to nothing about Chinese folk lore but a quick Google search shows him to be quite an interesting character. I'll keep an eye on this one for sure.
@Areus copying? I'd say inspired by as its quite clearly an inspiration but I'm getting fortnite, kingdoms of amalur and torchlight vibes myself. Opinions vary from person to person.
@HotGoomba helldivers 2 is superb in every way and it's good to hear that you are finally enjoying it. Arc raiders is equally as good so don't pass that over if you like the online co-op shenanigans it brings to the table.
It took me a long time to get round to playing the first horizon game and I really enjoyed it. The 2nd game is still on my to play list but I've always got something else on the go but I'll give it a play eventually. This entry however is going to be a pass for me as its art style and general aesthetic is a big turn off for me. It just looks like fortnite and a dozen other cell shaded games and I don't mean in a negative way because I know there are people who'll be really wanting a game like this so on that front I hope it does well and they enjoy it. I wish they would give us another killzone entry but I guess it's a dead franchise now and the chances of a remake or remaster of the original trilogy are none existent now too.
I'm having a racing weekend I think. I'm going to jump into forza horizon 5 as its been a while and all the talk about FH6 recently has made me itchy for some good old arcade racer fun. Have a great weekend folks 👍
I've had every PlayStation except the ps4 pro and the ps5 is my fave. It dosnt have the greatest ui but next to the ps2 it's the most silent and certainly the easiest to keep dust free. I just love being able to play all my ps4 games pro enhanced. The only real gripe I have is the battery life in the controller although the midnight black one that replaced my original does last about an hour longer on average. I liked my ps3 even though I thought the online play could be really atrocious at times and I really miss bad company 2 which I thought was the best game on it. Glad the ps5 is doing so well.
@rjejr oh lord the voodoo graphics cards..wow now that's a blast from the past. I had a 3dfx voodoo 2 card in my first pc and quake 2 and unreal championship were just mind blowing. I might actually still have that pc in the darkest corner of the attic but I'm not going treasure hunting to find it.
@LiamCroft how bad are the frame rate drops? Are there different graphic quality settings? I'm never really bothered by the odd drop here and there (wukong was apparantly unplayable to some) so if they are not that prevalent I may pick this up as I enjoyed the first 2.
@Balaam_ I agree with you. Personally I don't think the whole game will be on the disc which is probably the only reason I'd buy this digitally over the physical disc.
I don't think the division really needs a native ps5 version. It's still an incredible looking game and it's gunplay is still exceptional. Running at 60fps is more than enough for me personally and I wish the load times were better but for a game that's knocking on a bit now it's still quite epic.
@AhmadSumadi well they added quite a lot to the game running on the ps5. Full 60fps,upgraded resolution, better effects and faster load times etc. I was playing the ps4 version on my ps5 and when the upgrade dropped it made a big difference. Granted no native ps5 D2 is a bummer but its still an awesome game and much better than its ps4 version.
I'm going for the platinum trophy on ball pit today. I've just unlocked the hardest trophy to get (the deadeye cross) so all the others should be quite easy going. The inevitable bout of dirt rally 2.0 and EA wrc of course will also be on the menu. Have a great weekend folks 👍
@SuperSilverback I'll jump back on it and try it out but I've got to be honest I don't have much time to dedicate to it properly as ball pit,arc raiders and various rally games take up my time. I need to get back to BF6 but that damn arc raiders is just too damn good.
I've played it for a short while and it looks, sounds and plays well but it needs some content to flesh it out and it needs at least 4 per team. There's room for a lot of improvement but they have a solid base to build upon.
I'm not seeing any god of war inspirations. What I am seeing is wukong and wuchang inspirations from this trailer. If the camera was over the shoulder like the recent god of war games I'd say you have a point but this just looks like another nioh, wukong, wuchang,wo long and any other half decent souls type arpgs. I love these kind of games and I haven't played a decent one since khazan which I still need to replace after my puppy boz ate it..little f*cker.
@KoopaTheGamer not when an embargo is in place or they don't get review copies in time but still manage to cram 40+ hours into a single day for review purposes..
I don't think reviewers should be reviewed but I do think that the reviewers chosen to review certain genres of games should have a better understanding of how those games work or at least the reviewer chosen should at least enjoy that genre. I'd be more inclined to trust a review that was written by somebody who understands how a souls like game works and understands the mechanics. It's no good having somebody who primarily plays racing games as an example reviewing a souls like game..they won't get it. Also its no good reviewing a game that can take upwards of 50-60 hours to complete literally a day after a review embargo has been lifted as there's no way its been played properly therefore it paints an inaccurate picture of the game. Reviewers need to take more into account when reviewing games.
@Mr_Vengeance1980 well there is the rogue trooper game and if you own older consoles such as an xbox etc there was a judge dredd game which I do believe is on PC too. But I agree they have such a strong character and storyline pool to choose from it's unbelievable there are no recent ones. Nemesis the warlock and the ABC warriors would be my ideal kind of game. Have you watched future shock on prime tv? Brilliant documentary about 2000ad.
It's a bit of an odd one this game. Graphically it's pretty decent although I have noticed a few frame rate drops. The audio is really good. Controls are tight and the gunplay is great as expected...but it really needs more content. So it's nowhere near as rubbish as is being made out but the criticism about lack of content is very valid. I'll keep an eye on it for future content drops to see if it improves.
@DennisReynolds same here. I really enjoyed the first game and I'm quite disappointed how this has turned out. I'll wait for a heavy reduction in price or when it turns up on my extra sub.
"but like many, we wanted to know the kind of game that Geoff Keighley was willing to bet his entire reputation on." I don't remember him betting his entire reputation on this game or any other. There seems to be a new hyperbolic theme surrounding the wordings of pushsquare articles at the moment. Anyway I've just downloaded this so I'll have a crack when I'm home from work later.
@wildcat_kickz I'm not particularly smitten with the art direction either but I'm willing to put that to one side and see if the game is actually good or not. Personally I've never been one to follow what's popular and I just play, watch, read and listen to what I enjoy.

@Ihatemultiplayers the kind you wouldn't want to use an ultraviolet light on in their bedrooms..
Re: The Best Soulslike Around, Lies of P Is a Big Sales Success
@datamonkey nope afraid not. Lies of p is the best souls like..wukong is an arpg and not really souls like at all.
Re: Take an Extended, Non-Canon Look at the Next Jaw-Dropping Black Myth Game
@Scottyy the performance on the base ps5 was good and I never saw what everybody else complained about.
Re: Take an Extended, Non-Canon Look at the Next Jaw-Dropping Black Myth Game
@Simu001 I think you played a different wukong to me. It was tough but I never felt cheated or that it was unfair.

I really don't know what to make of this. Could be the first ever soulslike cookery game. At least its bringing something else to the table if it is 🤣

@4fold pretty much like almost every game unless it's procedurally generated and rogue like.
